The Ariya broadens Nissan's EV range up-market, an upper-mid-sized Coupe-Crossover that really seems to have the 'want one' factor missing from so many family-segment electric vehicles. It's boldly styled, has a cutting-edge cabin and offers a choice of battery sizes and drivetrain options. Think EV are dull? Check this one out.
    Background
Every major brand has been developing Electric Vehicles over the last decade. But only a few have been doing so with actual customers, selling cars from actual showrooms. One of these brands is Nissan, who established the concept of an all-electric family car with the innovative LEAF all the way back in 2011. Before bringing us a follow-up, that difficult second album, this car, the Ariya.
Much of that time was spent creating the platform this car sits upon, the CMF-EV chassis that also underpins its very similar close cousin, the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric. That car is positioned in size and price very similarly to the current-day Nissan LEAF, so this one, its name based on the Japanese word for 'honourable', must be a slightly larger, slightly more aspirational, more up-market thing. A mid-sized Crossover aimed at entry-level Tesla territory and the EV market's most over-crowded segment.

Yes I thought the same until I had driven the 63 kWh base version for over a 1000 miles. You do get used to haptic controls and touch screens, a bit like you do on iPads. The base model even has a heat pump and heated seats, plus pro pilot steering assist and all those safety assists as standard. Which makes it one of the safest cars around in my view. The Ariya is a well engineered quality car that I feel most people would be proud to own.

I like your video. You gave us a good overview about the ARIYA with pro and cons also in comparison with the competitors. 👍
I bought one in Austria an ARIYA e4force evolve including 20“. Delivery should be in October 2023. I ordered it in December 2022.
    Best wishes from Vienna

What’s with the stupid graphic at the bottom of the frame all the way through your videos? Very distracting and no other car review channel does this. It’s a shame because your reviews are very good.

Haptic controls and touch screens are a disaster. Sometimes even a nightmare. Depending on driver's luck.

Typical egg shaped sloped roof clone drone EV . All makes come out of wind tunnel tests with the same design conclusion to preserve battery life. Hence boot space sacrificed for the sake of aerodynamics
