    Just run 1000 km in my Vanish Tempo, love those shoes, now I'm tempted to try the FWD,s hope they will last as long.

    Hi TD interested to hear what shoes you wear casually. I got into vivobarefoots for casual/walking and feel like they are helping strengthen my feet, and Altra for running as zero drop is better on my knee [patella tendonitis..]. Your channel is super helpful for info on the Altras thanks 🙌

    I am finally giving altra a second chance/try. Just picked up the Torin 6 for 50 dollars US. the last and only other altra I had was the timp 1.5

      50$! That's a great deal!

    TD. I've been an Altra fan for a long time. But, I just tried on two pairs of Topos, and I have to say: Wow. You should consider checking them out! The Cyclone 2 has an amazing midsole, and their trail offerings have amazing outsoles!

      Thanks for the tip. I definitely would like to try out their shoes. And with the Magnifly 4 at 25mm stack with 0mm drop, they would fit in perfectly in my rotation. They've ignored my request for collaboration, so I'd need to see what my budget says 😅

      I think they also have a zero drop trail shoe (Pursuit).@@TDMiller

      @@travistodd3216 yeah, they do! And they look a lot better than the road collection tbh! I'm doing more road running lately, and will probably pick trail running up again towards the end of the year.

      How would you compare the fit of Cyclone 2 with Escalante Racer?

      I wore size 9 in both the Racer and the Cyclone 2@@fransera

    Hope they send you the Torin 7 soon. They just released a new gray/green/orange colorway of the Escalante Racer. Where did you hear the rumor of the ”Escalante Racer 2”

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  ปีที่แล้ว

      I read it at 2 separate places, but not sure where anymore. Probably FB or Reddit 😅 Apparently, some retailers have received info of an "update", but that could mean anything.

    Vanish tempo vs escalante racer- what is principal difference?

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The VT is a shoe that helps you run faster (rocker geometry, midsole reactiveness) and the Racer is a more minimalistic racing shoe where you'd need to do more of the heavy lifting yourself, expecially at a longer distance. Both shoes feel great when running at speed, but the Racer may cause cramps if your feet aren't used to it.

    What caused your plantar fasciitis? I have it in my left foot and not sure what to do. I blamed it on my worn Lems Primal Zens but it’s prob me as a new runner starting too fast? Even walking uphill on the treadmill triggers it.

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could have been anything, but I blame shoes (both casual and running) with a heel to toe drop. It started when I wore Timberland boots on a daily basis. At the time I also wore high drop running shoes. I tried everything to get it fixed, including shockwave therapy. But in the end, only transitioning to Altra's zero drop shoes got it fixed completely.

    The vanish tempo is TTS as Rivera 3 or you had to size up to US10,5 as the rivera 2? thanks

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sized up to US10.5, but I'm unsure if that was really necessary.

    Is there a huge difference in propulsion/pace that you notice between the Vanish Tempo and Vanish Carbon?

    • @TDMiller
      @TDMiller  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a mid-of-the-pack runner, I honestly feel very little difference in propulsion. The Carbons feel a little more stable when running for a longer time at a higher pace.

      I did a lot of training for my marathon in the vanish carbons and tempos before actually racing in the Vaporflys. Carbons were great for my long run sessions, tempo and interval work, while I used the tempo for all my daily and easy mileage as they didn’t feel snappy like the carbons. And then raced in the vaporflys because they’re next level, but carbons we’re much comfier to train in plus harder work so better training then feel like you’re flying in the race. Hopefully next Carbon will be able to do both.

    Midfoot width on altra is too narrow…

      I felt that with the Torins, but sized up half a size and it worked! Good luck!
