Another factor is that Lightstrike pro in termso of foam performance with last at least double the Nike ZoomX and probably the On foam also - both of which are Peba based and don't last near as long as the TPEE Lightstrike Pro. Adios 3 Pro had a reputation for lasting over 1000km in terms of foam performance which the NIke never could get remotely close to.
I can confirm that my 800km AP3 feels better than my 200km vaporfly3. That said, reviewers keep saying that AP4 is much softer than 3 and soft shoes don’t usually last long. I’ve seen a photo of wrinkly AP4 midsole after 1 marathon.
Ran over 1,300kms on OG Adios Pro; carbon rods snapped, outsole quite worn out, but midsole still held on quite well. Now cleaned and hanging' from a nail on the wall...
Just a suggestion. Whilst you do cover it in the ride section, perhaps a section on Ideal Strike Type, as a heel striker it's something I always look for
I liked when you did your super shoe comparison a couple years ago when you compared a bunch of running metrics from all the shoes. Wish you would do that format again with this year’s super shoes (Sky/Edge Paris, Deviate Elite 3, Adios Pro 4, Rebellion Pro 2, etc.)
@@vicius23I can only compare it to the shoes that I’ve used champ. You know in December when all the shoe reviewers do top shoes of 2024…they haven’t used every running shoe ever made in 2024. (I know … mind blowing) lol
Thank you for this video Alex I have the Nike alphafly 3 and I like them very much But since I 2 pair of version from the of the adios pro 2 and one of the 3 love second version most. I can’t wait for the adios Pro 4 unfortunately we have to wait until. But I’m really not interested on any shoe
Wow I really like this new and very thorough format Alex. I wear my own insoles so I really appreciate that you cover that point. Great job, always trying to « push the enveloppe »!
I have the alphafly 3 and use it for tempo workouts but I have had a few minor injures in the last 12 months which is when I started wearing super shoes for workouts. I have had custom orthotics for the past 3 years which has kept me healthy but I never wear my orthotics in my workout shoes anymore. My coach says I should start wearing my orthotics for workouts too but I’m worried if u take the insole out of my alphafly it will be flimsy when put I back in for road races. Do u think that’s a problem or is it a good idea to put my orthotic on top of the insole
Great comparison, but it lacks the most important measurement: speed. I know - hard to measure reliably, but could be done. Now the video is quite describtive and about feel, but which would be the fastest for your stride?
@@NateCrail yep. I have four different carbon shoes: Metaspeed Sky, Alphafly 1 and 3 and Vaporfly 2. For me, the Alphafly 3 is fastest in tests. They are close though.
This is a nice reference. But at the end of the day, you have to step in all three of those shoes and running to find what fit with your body running mechanism. No way a shoe feel great for somebody will surely work 100% with another
There’s something very interesting about the Alphafly: in past times, the air pods used to be considered only as a cushioning device. But, now, Nike is considering this as a kind of toe off propulsion device. What is the truth?
Hey Alex, great job as always. I enjoy your channel ! FYI - "On" the Cloudboom Strike, On's site says 4mm drop... Just a head's up unless you know something I don't.
EDIT: the On Cloudboom Strike has a 4mm drop

Thanks for the comparison video Alex. I think this format works quite nicely, it flows surprisingly well considering you're doing it alphabetically.
Thank you for your feedback ! Anything missing in the comparison points?

I’ve only tried the Cloudboom..and it’s incredible….best shoe 2024!
Can’t wait to try the AP4.
Guy has only used one shoe and already claims it's the best of 2024. What a lovely world we live in!

I like the way You compare it !!! As a Endo Pro 4 user I would like to see Endo Elite 2 vs Adios Pro 4🙂
We will do it once the EE2 is widely available
Thanks for the review, I’m very tempted by the On CB Strike.
You should go for it !
3:38 long laces are goated imo
Thank you for this video Alex

As an additional topic you could use Longevity: how long will the shoes last (cushioning bottoming out, outsole weardown etc)

I like this question. The fastest for my gait cycle is most likely the Cloudboom Strike.
And one of the most subjective measurements. Only way for runners to test that is by buying all three…
@@NateCrail yep. I have four different carbon shoes: Metaspeed Sky, Alphafly 1 and 3 and Vaporfly 2. For me, the Alphafly 3 is fastest in tests. They are close though.

Nice Review, what was the heel width for the shoes? You mentioned the forefoot width/midsole but not heel. Thanks

I have alphafly 1 (1.779 km) and AF 3 (171 km). I prefer AF 1, they still feel faster.
Saucony endorphin elite 2 or adios pro 4?
Maybe a suggestion: Break the same list of criterias by category: E.g. SPECS, UPPER & FIT, OUTSOLE, MIDSOLE & RIDE, VALUE at the end.
Hi! Thanks for the video. Question, i just got blisters from the heel collar of cloud boomstrike. Any tips how to prevent/fix this? Thank you so much.

Hi Alex,im interesting is it adidas pro 4 to much softer i comparison pro 3...
AAAP4 for the win.
Sounds like the name of a top secret military weapon but ik what shoe you talking about

You are correct, my bad!
Actually on adios pro 3 it is better in stride if you know how to use it.
Asics Metaspeed Paris FTW
You can feel the adidas has the lower drop ........ Ummmmmm
Good comment and I was surprised myself with the mistake. With the softest heel, the adidas has a more pronounced dynamic drop if that makes sense.
Adidas 6mm drop and no complete carbón plate…
Did all the brands agree that orange and white would be the colour of speed? I mean, they’re not wrong, they all look good 🍊💨
Yes they look good
The ap4 doesn’t have orange
