I hate du-rags to so I invested in loc socks. I must say it made things 10xs better then a wave cap, du-rag, t-shirt wrap, etc... I have satin pillow cases so I rarely sleep with anything on my head now and my locs are still in great shape. Nice video brutha!!!!
I can attest that not wearing a doo rag or some other type of hair wrap at night does indeed contribute to thinning and breakage. Like Cedric, I do NOT like wearing anything on my head at night. It's uncomfortable and often gives me a headache even though it's not tied tight. I never have a problem with my locks thinning until I go a few weeks without wearing my satin bonnet at night.
Was looking to see if somebody said this. I dont sleep with nothing on my dreads too and theyre not thinning out or anything i also dont retwist for long periods of time like 4/5 months at a time and theyre still strong i agree too much retwisting and head fiddling causes breakage
What's going on family? Thank yo all so much for liking and watching and following my journey. It's been 4 months since I've made this video and I want you to know that I've listened to a lot of your comments and concerns. I've come to conclude that most of you are right in your view and opinions, especially when it comes to what can cause lock breakage. I've conducted my own experiment with sleeping with my head wrapped since this video and I'm led to believe that it wasn't the cause of my breakage. I believe it was that I would go long periods of time without moisturizing causing my hair to dry out, which creates an environment for breakage. Not worrying about wrapping my hair is actually freeing! So thank you all! Thank you all for your love and support!!!!!!!
Great video Ced!! You made some excellent points as well. I definitely agree with the fourth one, NEVER compare your locs with someone else's. You wanted Jirods and I came in the game wanting my hair to look just like Keisha Charmaines and Cordell Black. Your locs, your journey!
I did the same thing . I went a year without retwist. Also I did the same no no with wearing hair ties. paid for it with breakage. now I make sure to retwist every six weeks or so, hot oil treatments and wrap my hair at night .
Been growing mine for 15 years and I started with about 200 locks now I have maybe 96 after combining the thinning locks. I never sleep with anything on my head and I go long periods of time without retwisting. I think I'm on 6 months without a retwist at this moment.
I think everyone has learned the hard way some how with their locks lol..that's the beauty of the journey, you always can imagine a outcome of your locks and most of the time it ends up being something you never could have imagined and actually love it! I'm getting my hair maintained the end of this month (November) so expect a before and after vid possibly another vid just for a little update.
You right about that. I was just looking at some pictures of me when I was like 3 weeks into the game. Then, I could've never imagined the set I have now. And now, I can't even imagine what they'll look like in another 4. Maybe sometime between now and then, I'll be brave enough to freeform hahaha. Thanks for watching and I'll check it out. ItsMylesX
I've had dreads going on 9 years now. through my journey the best thing I've learned is to just let them do them. good luck through your continued path brah
It's funny all these tips you've given applies to lose natural hair as well. I am very active in the natural hair community, and this alone has made me very knowledgable about caring for my locks - along with watching others who are fully locked who share their own experience. I appreciate this video, respect!
I was really self-conscious about my locks and the amount until I watched your vid. Thanks for this explanation man. Now I'm more happy with my dreads than before. Keep it up man! Lock journey: 5 weeks PS, only a few are locking up quicker than I thought they would lol my lock-tision told me three to four months due to the texture. I'm too hype! Thanks again man!
OMG, this is me! I stopped wearing my satin cap like 6/7 months in and I definitely noticed breakage around my edges especially and I feel like some around the back edges have thinned between the loc and the new growth. So now I found cap and I recently started wearing it again. And I don't even know how long its been since I retwisted my hair. I know it was last year though :x So I'm about to do that now and try to get on a twisting routine. And I was here crying that my locs weren't coming out how I wanted them so and all I had to do was take care of them like I should have been the whole time!! smh! One mistake that I made was I split two of my locs in half (making 4) when I hadn't when I hadn't watched my locs. Not only did that result in two of the locs being shorter in length, by the time I went and washed my hair I realized that the locs weren't as dense as I thought they were and I probably shouldn't have cut them in the first place. So now I'm going to be joining them back together, sigh. Great vid, your locs look fantastic!
I had locks for ten years and was forced to cut them because no matter how many times i washed them build up showed and it looked dirty and unprofessional. In an attempt to save them i thought about bleaching but that would have been unprofessional as well. In the end i cut them and advice i have to all is watch the products you use when maitenencing ur dreadlocks, alot of people will not use the best products on your head because it more money out their pocket. Only use natural products and try to let the same person maitenence your locks over time. Product build up attracts dirt and if your not washing your locks weekly it can and will destroy their appearance. With that aside i did alot of things right with my dreads and got compliments all the time. Any questions i am here for yall. I been through it all and have alot of advice on producing healthy dreads!
consmo Fam, thanks for dropping off a little knowledge. I completely agree with watching the products. Sorry yours had to go. You see growing again one day?
+NYC Kali acv every month is not good. That should be done once or twice at most a YEAR. it will strip your hair of everything and cause it do break by doing it too frequently.
Good vid man I've learned a lot during my journey I look back and be like what was I thinking Iol. I used to oil my scalp everyday twice a day I used to think conditioning your hair would make them come out so I didn't and tight ponytails made some of my sides and back thin but thankfully I've never lost one
You're so right, with growth comes wisdom! Even if you need a retwist they still look good! Happy combining! I know they will be awesome because of what you know now!
I have always kept a durag on my head........I put a wave cap on first then the durag to sleep at night....rarely has my durag come off while sleeping and if it did my wave cap was still on my head.........I used to wear large rubber bands to either ponytail or pull my hair back but I found what I call a Dreadlock Headband.......Thanks and good luck on your Loc journey.....I've had Locs for about 4 years now but crossed over from cornrows!!!!#NappyBoi
bro I did am am doing all the things you mentioned and yes you right. I am super lazy and hate to retwist my own hair. So between going to shop I go months wearing that faithful ponytail.
Yo I love this! I've been thinking about starting locs for a few months now, and I wanna do my research before I get started. i've noticed there are majority ladies speaking up about their natural hair. I really like your enthusiasm to share your hair journey. More men should be involved in the natural movement. Not just by affirming black women in their beauty without weaves , black men need to be a part of the discussion because so many of your are natural. Thanks for this
If you have build up, you need to do a deep clean retwist. which can be done a couple different ways. I personally like a honey retwist, with a rinse with lemon juice and baking soda. this takes the build up away, freeing the dreads from any stiffness or mildew smell you might have. I don't wear a Du-Rag anymore, they usually fall off, but i bought a hair sock which works perfectly if you tie it up. #DredOut
That's So weird I hear people say to not retwist often but when I had dreds I got them retwisted every 2 weeks (my hair grows fast) I never had any issues with breakage.
You said some I KNEW was causing problems with my locs... No Du rag, wearing the ponytail to keep hair out my face at work, now one portion of my head looks thinner and I HATE it...
i also connect dreads together to get thicker dread... but im really appreciative of you pointing out what happens when i don't use a du rag. i too get really lazy at times and just don't wear it. which now i know why i was losing dreads. i also didn't know the time period on when to re twist. I was twisting more like every three days lol. i do my own so once i see a problem im back at twisting. thanks for the video i seriously appreciate you sir.
I went almost 5 months without getting a retwist and it caused MAJOR breakage. I get em done every 6 to 8 weeks now but I'm still recovering. Some times I'll do it monthly cause my scalp be disappearing lol...sleeping without a satin cap will also cause me to tug on my hair in the middle of the night and makes it super dry which also caused breakage. Hair is still in recovery mode lol
Ebonie007 Praying it recovers well. I'm blessed to have a really thick head of hair. But going a long time without retwisting has resulted in more problems with my locs in the past. So i feel you on that one. Thanks for commenting
The thing is , you and even mature seasoned loc people are just doing tooooo much. I'm glad you've learned from your experiments ( not mistakes) locs are not easy breezy and simple and complex at the same time. I need to make a video. By the way your baby is beautiful
first time ever seeing you....i love you!!! My little brother wants to start and after he has had them for a little while I will definitely show him this.
I know different strokes for different folks for sure....for example... 1. I don't sleep with anything on my Locs (because I just can't), and I've been loced for over 5 years with no issues. When I sleep I'm aware of where my locs are (if that makes sense). My locs are entering mid length and I have about 360 locs. If my locs are in the way I get up and tie them loosely on the top of my head. My locs are never wild and scattered all over I would never get rest! When I toss and turn I carefully move my locs with me in my sleep! Lol
Netta2 I'm with you on that one. I'm just not feeling sleeping with things on my head and I've been learning how to sleep without them and move them around carefully when I sleep. Thanks for commenting
+Medusa Wafflehouse I feel you on that one. Watch my latest video to enter my dreadsock giveaway. You'll like these much better than du rags fam #bless
Hmmm. I know that the type of band you use can damage hair if it's extremely constricting. If you've been wearing a ponytail all day, it's probably better if you let your hair rest at night if possible. But people also get styles and will keep them in for days so you kind of have to gauge based on your hair type.
Lol I used to work in ophthalmology DO NOT KEEP YOUR CONTACTS IN lol your cornea (eye window/skin) can stick to the contact and DASSIT I like your energy though -signed someone lazy who wraps their hair all day but never at night lol
Damn, i stopped wearing my du-rag 6 months into my journey. The reason being is because i have a dread top and i wanted my lock to stand up instead of hang down.
You sleep hard as hell lol. But seriously my hair is way different 😔 I wear a do-rag every night and when it's time to retwist, I still have to basically part my hair again. But I'm used to it now. The hair at the top of my head is super soft, but it's very coily at the back.
In my case to have a really had a chance to get a retwist in over a month and a half plus I don't wear anything on my head when I go to sleep. Personally I like the look of new growth at the base of my locs, but you may be pointing out the issues with how my locs are. Along with wearing a du-rag when I sleep, what else do you think I should do?
have you ever tried a dread sox I do wear on mine at nite but I too hate wearing it to but I like it better then a durag because with the dread sox they can move more an the roots do lock up much better,,,
I haven't tried a loc soc yet. Personally I feel that they're a bit overpriced. But, I may chance my mind if ever I try them. Thanks a million for commenting!!!!!! :)
Twisting the hair actually does more damage long -term that not twisting. I don't twist or wrap my hair at night (two years). Perhaps the wrong product, over twisting and not washing the hair often was the reason for your breakage.
Hey AlysseStewartOnAir Thanks for the input. I haven't been sleeping with it wrapped much this year in efforts to be more hands off with my locs. My thing was that I have some seriously thin locs that were getting swallowed by some of the bigger ones around it. Thanks again for your input. Good thing to mention.
What is the best moisturize to use? Because i am having that problem now with my dreads, I let it dry out with long periods of time and some of my dreads are thinning at the root.
Make some flax seed gel. Just TH-cam it. I did my sons it holds extremely well, and its natural so if your hair touches your face it won't cause breakouts.
New to the dread game (about a month now) can you give me a few tips as far as conditioning, types of oil for moisturizing etc.... I want them to be extremely healthy while starting out also how often should i get retwisted etc.... All info is helpful!!!!! Thanks and im subscribing!!!!'
One of my locs broke because of overtwisting them 😏 what is a nicer and easier way to keep it healthy and nice ? Like a product to keep my scalp non-itchy and to keep my dreads good
Hey Bro , Is using a Durag Bad for your growing process? Do it help stop Breakage? And what is a good source to use on my head when I go to sleep? Fill me in on some info 🙄💯
Zay Guru Music hey i was thinking that it was mos def before he got famous.... damn that s his son and he probably don t even know it ... MOS DEF U AER THE FATHER
If a stylist tell you to use black gel or any commercial brand gel on your locs, run like u see a ghost because 9 times of 10 it is extremely toxic and can damage your hair. You can re-twist with any of the followings #1.non concentrate coconut water #2. 1/2 Rosewater + 1/2 soy free Vitamin E oil #3.Distilled/Filtered water #4.okra slime #5.pure aloe mixed w/ raw honey #6.Beef protein gelatin mixed w/distilled or filtered water #7.Kokokum butter mixed with shea butter or your choice #8.raw shea butter #9. pure beeswax mixed with butter #10.cactus gel.For Shea butter and beeswax definitely use in moderation
@cedlocks how did you start into the dread game? because i really want to start getting my hair locked up but im not sure who to go to is it possible to do them myself?
Just found your channel and subscribed. I am almost 3 years into my loc obsession.lol. I have 93 locs. Thanks for posting this. alot of the stuff you were talking about were the stuff i recently lazily srarted doing. smh. What are your thoughts on trimming locs?
I just got my dreads done 4 days ago (76 dreads) my hair was 3/4 inches before dreads and are like 2 inches with dreads, how long until they start looking decent and how long should I wait to crochet?
Yo, I've had my locs for 6 months and last week I went to get a retwist and ended up getting interlocked. Do you know if I can get them out? also my locs at the sides and back are really bulbous and won't loc like the rest of them, what can I do? sorry if this is vague Bro, I reckon if anyone would know you would
handsome. you're hair is gorgeous. I have freeform dreads and they will dread themselves it's just I have to separate and I never understood that. LOL. I think dreads are so different on people.
how do you deal with itching? sometimes my scalp gets really itchy. I'm 9 months in and hair gets itchy- i do wash it and oil my hair. just don't know why it itches.
In all honesty bro, I'm no specialist. I've always found hair questions like the check engine light in the dash. It could something as simple as not tightening the gas cap or as bad as needing a new engine. Dry scalp can be caused by something as small as temperature change or as big as psoriasis (skin disease). But it basically derives from an imbalance in moisture at the scalp level. I'd seek medical attention if it's something persistent. Hope this helps :) *****
All depends on what u using maybe the stuff your using could be causing it may not feel like it but the main reason it itches because your scalp is dry and can't breath. What oil and shampoo do u use and do u confit ok your hair? I used to be the same way but now my hair never really itches. Also depends where u live if u live somewhere and it's cold around this time your hair gets dry a lot also
thanks bro!! thats what I think is the issue if I go a while without any moisture my hair becomes itchy. I don't always have it but i did have it a while back. As far as conditioner at the moment i don't use any- have any suggestions? I get like a spray bottle and add water along with oil that seems to help with dryness. Jerell Johnson
I use design essentials product line works really great it's a 2shampoos one is called oat protein cleansing shampoo it removes all the buildup sweat oil and products in your hair then the second I use with it by them is called moisture retention it adds moisture to your hair because that first on strips everything so it will have your hair dry then the conditioner is called stimulations works really good stimulates your scalp and the stuff actually makes your hair grow
I'm getting mine done in just a few days I was just going to get a family member to do them but is there any tips you could give me for just the first few weeks just so I had an idea how to get started cause I'm not getting them done by anyone that's knows anything 😂😂??
Fantastic that you're joining the community! I don't think a person has to be extremely knowledge to start your locs as long as they're not doing some out of the norm or tool method. However, it could take an untrained person a little more time to part evenly throughout the head. But if the person has done box braids or two strand twist styles with loose hair, the method is almost the same. I would continue Youtubing. Maybe even have the family member watch a few videos to have an idea. Other than that. Keep them clean. Protect them when you sleep (suggested but not all people do it), and be conscious of drying them if you get them wet. Much love! #blessing
i just twisted my hair for the first time 7 days ago so my hair isnt really locked yet. when should i retwist and when should i wash my hair since i havent washed it since twisting?
Yeah black hair takes three weeks to lock naturally on its own. its smart and knows what its doing. Just make sure you wait 3 weeks I just got mines recently and I'm at week 2 😃
Well, dreadlocks have a way of forming and shaping themselves. It'd be difficult for twins even to have the exact same set. But I have approx 160 dreadlocks or so if that helps in deciding how many you think you'll want to have. Timmy loco Hope this helps
I've had dreads going on 9 years now. through my journey the best thing I've learned is to just let them do them. good luck through your continued path brah
My hair is about 4 inches long and i use a sponge everyday and I get pretty good results but it doesn't matter how twisted my hair is when I wash my hair i lose all my twists. Should I use the sponge everyday for like 2 weeks without washing my hair until they lock?
AE23 if you're trying to lock, why don't you just get your hair coiled? My hair is between 4-6 inches and in between retwist I do the rubber band method when I wash my hair so my roots don't come unravel. There are videos on how to do that.
u gotta use the circle sides on the sponge not the lil twist sides I did it for like 4 months straight constantly weekly w.e now I ain't used it it's growing I wash it and all dat but I only put oils in it and let it do wat it's gone do
AE23 i use a medium or hard brush to twist my hair so when i shower i put the shampoo in my hair and twist my hair with my brush . I never wear my hair picked out. I choose a brush over a sponge.
I hate du-rags to so I invested in loc socks. I must say it made things 10xs better then a wave cap, du-rag, t-shirt wrap, etc... I have satin pillow cases so I rarely sleep with anything on my head now and my locs are still in great shape. Nice video brutha!!!!
Not wearing a do rag is not breaking your locks off...too much twisting and products are breaking them off...just wash and go for a while

-Can Ameri- invest in a silk pillow case, problem solved
JayceeSoFie - Thanks. I will. 🙏🏽
I have locs down to my rear end and I don't wear nothing on my head at night....I wash and go...period

so you saying you put two of yours dreads together
joshua maddox yes, i've combined multiple dreads via two strand twisting
I need to do that
hey can you wear a wave cap im on my journey and that's what i wear
+gfffggg I do that
Doctor: "You gon learn"
Cedric: "but it ain't today"
lmfao I'm dying
You should get a silk pillow case to sleep on at night. This will be great backup if you forget to wrap your hair up. Hope this helps!
Kwametralove
I need to do that. I've known about them for years. I think I'll get one pretty soon here! Thanks for commenting #blessing!

My locs are entering mid length and I have about 360 locs. If my locs are in the way I get up and tie them loosely on the top of my head. My locs are never wild and scattered all over I would never get rest! When I toss and turn I carefully move my locs with me in my sleep! Lol
Netta2
I'm with you on that one. I'm just not feeling sleeping with things on my head and I've been learning how to sleep without them and move them around carefully when I sleep.
Thanks for commenting
I try to wear a durag when i go to sleep but its always off my head when i wake up in the morning.
+Medusa Wafflehouse I feel you on that one. Watch my latest video to enter my dreadsock giveaway. You'll like these much better than du rags fam #bless
Hahaaa! She came in & used the bathroom like, whaaaat? Too funny!
Great info my dude! I'm glad I subbed to you. Keep up the good work, and stay loc'd!
Thanks fam. I appreciate your sub!!!!
Just seeing your video for the first time. Your daughter is so adorable!! God bless!
What a handsome man he is :-)
How long should I keep a ponytail in? And is it good to sleep with it at night sometimes?
Haha... I have since learned. Been taking them out. Thanks so much for sharing some knowledge!
Yo man your hair is sick!! also how does your hair stay boxed and out the way of your face? and how long did it take for your locks to loc up propley?
Damn, i stopped wearing my du-rag 6 months into my journey. The reason being is because i have a dread top and i wanted my lock to stand up instead of hang down.
Thanks for your honesty brother. This helps.
You sleep hard as hell lol. But seriously my hair is way different 😔 I wear a do-rag every night and when it's time to retwist, I still have to basically part my hair again. But I'm used to it now. The hair at the top of my head is super soft, but it's very coily at the back.
😭😩😅 u lost a few good soldiers
lol
:)
In my case to have a really had a chance to get a retwist in over a month and a half plus I don't wear anything on my head when I go to sleep. Personally I like the look of new growth at the base of my locs, but you may be pointing out the issues with how my locs are. Along with wearing a du-rag when I sleep, what else do you think I should do?
thx for this because everything u talked about is happening to me and I couldn't figure why..
👊🏾
@5:20 u said u split ur locs n doubled ur loc count. how did u do that? ive got like 40 and theyre wayyyyyy too big.
You’re going to learn! “But it ain’t today” 😂😂😂
Hey you're here in Cali, too? I'm from Maryland but i'm living in San Diego, now. Loving la vida SoCal. xD
have you ever tried a dread sox I do wear on mine at nite but I too hate wearing it to but I like it better then a durag because with the dread sox they can move more an the roots do lock up much better,,,
I haven't tried a loc soc yet.
Good thing to mention.
what did you do to make your locks more n how many years are your locks
What is the best moisturize to use? Because i am having that problem now with my dreads, I let it dry out with long periods of time and some of my dreads are thinning at the root.
Ok so it looks to me that you had your dreds in three different parts you parted the left side then right side then had the middle dreded am I right
Very informative. I love my dreads and wanna maintain them. I will review all ur videos. Thamks
Yo how did you fix that problem with the new growth breaking and separating from dread
Peace brother! Can you tell me how to combine my smaller dreads, and also can you tell me what to use when getting twisted!
Look up Damian Walter on TH-cam he will let you know a lot of info
ok thanks alot
One of my locs broke because of overtwisting them 😏 what is a nicer and easier way to keep it healthy and nice ? Like a product to keep my scalp non-itchy and to keep my dreads good
Hey Bro , Is using a Durag Bad for your growing process? Do it help stop Breakage? And what is a good source to use on my head when I go to sleep? Fill me in on some info 🙄💯

If a stylist tell you to use black gel or any commercial brand gel on your locs, run like u see a ghost because 9 times of 10 it is extremely toxic and can damage your hair. You can re-twist with any of the followings #1.non concentrate coconut water #2. 1/2 Rosewater + 1/2 soy free Vitamin E oil #3.Distilled/Filtered water #4.okra slime #5.pure aloe mixed w/ raw honey #6.Beef protein gelatin mixed w/distilled or filtered water #7.Kokokum butter mixed with shea butter or your choice #8.raw shea butter #9. pure beeswax mixed with butter #10.cactus gel.For Shea butter and beeswax definitely use in moderation
great video very informative...oh and we have the same shower curtain lol
@cedlocks how did you start into the dread game? because i really want to start getting my hair locked up but im not sure who to go to is it possible to do them myself?
The bottom row of my dreads super weak. I dont use any products other than water and oil (sweet almond). Any suggestions I have about 100 locs myself.
I never sleep with a du rag since I stated mines and I always wait a while before I retwist my hair and thire healthy/long as can be
you know anything about two strand locs? i started with them over a month ago, when do i get the hang time?
Lmbo @ "you gon learn...but not today!" I promise that's something my 5yr old would say to me!
every two weeks retwisting is alot of pulling on your roots too. once a month is just fine
Just found your channel and subscribed. I am almost 3 years into my loc obsession.lol. I have 93 locs. Thanks for posting this. alot of the stuff you were talking about were the stuff i recently lazily srarted doing. smh.
What are your thoughts on trimming locs?
Hay!! What's a do-rag??? I think the lack of one is causing my dread problems!! Haha Thanks 😀
So how should I deal with pulling my hair back so much to have a hat on for work?
Found my problem. Thanks for your help man
YW. Thanks for coming through fam!
I were a wave cap type thing is that kool it's stretchy and lil bigger then a wave cap buy don't know the name
Where did you buy it from?
eye doctor tells him he's going to learn and he be like but it ain't going to be today bbbaaahhhhhh😂
Man I promise u we went thru the same wit our locs... Now I'm looking to combine
I just got my dreads done 4 days ago (76 dreads) my hair was 3/4 inches before dreads and are like 2 inches with dreads, how long until they start looking decent and how long should I wait to crochet?
i've heard that around 20cm is a good length to start
You dont suppose to count your dreads bro
King Zay 😂😂hell nawl if i didnt count em i would have sum big overly thick ass dreads now. i redid em n got over 100 now n dey look nice asell
glo but still you dont suppose to do it its bad luck to your locs
i hope everything is good with your right eye...
Yo, I've had my locs for 6 months and last week I went to get a retwist and ended up getting interlocked. Do you know if I can get them out? also my locs at the sides and back are really bulbous and won't loc like the rest of them, what can I do? sorry if this is vague Bro, I reckon if anyone would know you would
I loved that hair flip 😜
Haha... Thanks!
+CEDLOCKS (Cedric) 🤘🏽
I love your dreads, they look clean and healthy
I know you've heard this over a million times.....You can actually be a Mos Def double my brother, much love. ~Bless
handsome. you're hair is gorgeous.
Also depends where u live if u live somewhere and it's cold around this time your hair gets dry a lot also
Autocorrect fucked my message lol I meant do u condition your hair
thanks bro!! thats what I think is the issue if I go a while without any moisture my hair becomes itchy.
Can you use bonnets cus instead the doo rag u can use bonnet
Much love! #blessing
CEDLOCKS (Cedric) thank you so much !!
Hey bro first time
Am listening to you
I have dreds i want
To cut it short like
Rae sumuruds own
How do i do that.
😊😊😊😊😊😊
David Smith
Hey thanks for watching. I've never cut my locs so I wouldn't have the slightest clue on how to get that style fam. Sorry.
Not meaning cutting them but like just to keep them uniformed. Let me know what you think.
The way he flipped them locs back...😏
Got A Bonnet On Rn Almost 8 In 😎 We Don’t Do Retwists Only Separation
where dd u get crochet in south africa
lol he said, "but it aint taday"
i just twisted my hair for the first time 7 days ago so my hair isnt really locked yet. when should i retwist and when should i wash my hair since i havent washed it since twisting?
+Ma Kom Wait 3 weeks, when you wash your hair wear a stocking cap to prevent your twist from unraveling.
Kim Glynn thanks
Yeah black hair takes three weeks to lock naturally on its own. its smart and knows what its doing. Just make sure you wait 3 weeks I just got mines recently and I'm at week 2 😃
the hair falls out from retwisting to many times just let your head do whaf it do
that's also apart of the friction he mention
i want my hair just like yours bro. does it matter if im not black?
Well, dreadlocks have a way of forming and shaping themselves. It'd be difficult for twins even to have the exact same set. But I have approx 160 dreadlocks or so if that helps in deciding how many you think you'll want to have. Timmy loco Hope this helps
What do you use to moisturize your dreads?
Right now I'm just using tea tree, olive oil and water fam Taivon Towns
Right on bro +CEDLOCKS
I've had dreads going on 9 years now. through my journey the best thing I've learned is to just let them do them. good luck through your continued path brah
Thanks fam!
My hair is about 4 inches long and i use a sponge everyday and I get pretty good results but it doesn't matter how twisted my hair is when I wash my hair i lose all my twists. Should I use the sponge everyday for like 2 weeks without washing my hair until they lock?
yea
AE23 if you're trying to lock, why don't you just get your hair coiled? My hair is between 4-6 inches and in between retwist I do the rubber band method when I wash my hair so my roots don't come unravel. There are videos on how to do that.
Olivia P Ight thanks ill try that
u gotta use the circle sides on the sponge not the lil twist sides I did it for like 4 months straight constantly weekly w.e now I ain't used it it's growing I wash it and all dat but I only put oils in it and let it do wat it's gone do
AE23 i use a medium or hard brush to twist my hair so when i shower i put the shampoo in my hair and twist my hair with my brush . I never wear my hair picked out. I choose a brush over a sponge.
what if your dreads starts breaking off at the tips and you are new to dreads
my name is Cedric 😂 but I just started my dread journey lol you hair is dope tho. New sub 💯
+Cedric Almighty thanks fam! Cedric is an awesome name haha
