Love the idea of receiving a digital version with purchase! I think the main issue would be people either sharing their codes with others who didn't purchase.
To be honest, I see that as a good thing. Many who get something digital that they like will invest in the hard copy version.. so it provides an opportunity to make more sales.
Tokyo Ghoul was a gateway manga for me too! Because of that, I own the individuals - I didn't know about the existence of box sets then. Ihe box & poster are nice but not quite enough incentive for me to double dip!
I have to disagree with boogie saying buying manga and reading mange are two different hobbies I do not believe the two are mutually exclusive and I know alot of people who refuse to read scans also in japan they are one hobbie lmao. Buying manga is essentially buying the scan in a physical form it does not divorce it from being an entirely new hobby just because you recieve it physically, it may add an extra step in terms of providing space and it being a higher price but that is obvious, I am really just not a fan of divorcing the two because I feel like it discourages people from buying manga and supporting the industry and promotes piracy to a degree.

I’m currently on Chapter 8 so 6 more Chapters to go! After that I’ll buy the Tokyo Ghoul: Re box set. Imo it’s totally worth the money, I bought it online since I can’t find anything in my country that is related to Tokyo Ghoul. I told my parents it was going to be my birthday present and they agreed to buy it for me.

I already own the singles however I just bought this off of ebay for about £60 here in the UK - which is INSANELY cheap compared to other box sets. Just had to double dip

Gonna have to read or watch Tokyo Ghoul. Sounds cool. I'm a manga reader and comic reader/collector as well. In comics we buy one variant issue for 50-100$. Buying a whole set and box seems like a great deal. If I decided to 100% dive into manga I'd have a book shelf full in a month. I spend 50-100$ aweek in comics.😅👍. I feel more older people understand the collection side of things for sure.
