I just received my first ever drone today and to be honest, this is the most helpful video esp to someone like me who has no idea how to operate it. I’ve watched different videos but i find yours more helpful. Thanks a lot!
I've literally watched over 100 Mavic Mini videos on TH-cam in the last month and I have to agree with Sharmaine, this is the most helpful I've watched and it helped me make the decision to go out today and buy the DJI Mavic Mini as my very first drone. Thank you so much Air Photography!! I have subscribed and recommend other newbee's do as well.
I love my Mini 1. I am still tentative while flying but I am simply amazed by what this thing can do. The video quality is very good. The pictures it takes are also very nice. I recommend getting this as a high quality 1st drone for anyone - in my case I haven’t grown out of it quickly! I love it.
@@grey5719 hello @grey. my mini is doing really well. I don't fly as often as others do (still a little tentative when i fly) but it's doing great. I was getting some wind and working too hard warnings, so I changed the original propellers to a new set of dji ones and the warnings have gone away. I love this drone - It's my first so I can't really compare to anything. One awesome upgrade I recently did was get the new iPad Mini. Totally up'd the enjoyment level for me, especially once the drone is out of site.

My other option is the mini 2 but its a lot more money and my sole use for the drone is perimeter security, no TH-cam, no glamour shots, no other social media. Do you think this would be enough of a package for what I'm using it for? Need to randomly see my 2 acres where my cameras cant reach. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for this video. So basically if you pay $100 for the Fly More combo, you get: 2 more batteries ($45 each if bought separately) 2 more pairs of props 1 extra USB charging cable (I guess o you can charge both drone battery and remote at the same time) A bunch of extra prop screws; are these proprietary or a standard tiny screw? The prop guards ($19 separately) The charging hub ($39 separately) The charger block The nice case. (and that IS a nice case, and I don't see it on the DJI site) So the Fly More combo pays for itself with just the batteries and charger, everything else is gravy.
I think you're wise to spend the extra $100. I didn't and now wish I had. Everywhere I've looked, batteries and charging hubs are not available. I will have to suffer with my one battery :(
@@carlose6010 Yes, true however I've gone to DJI, Amazon, BestBuy and they're all unavailable or sold out. BestBuy DID have them at 35.and change but now unavailable there as well. I'm sure they'll stock up at some point, fingers crossed. Thanks for you're reply.
@@huktonlife I started shopping for my mini Sat. 11/9 and found out that they weren't going to be available until Mon. 11/11. Amazon wasn't selling the Fly More combo (they might be selling it now IDK) directly and there was only a private vendor selling the it for something ridicules like $620 US. I decided it would be a better idea to buy on online from BestBuy and pick it up so... Monday morning at 7am... I found one BestBuy, 20 miles away from me that had 1 left in stock. I bought it and picked it up yesterday 11/10. I only had time to get it setup, charged and get a little test flight in. Today I'll give it a more extensive test but so far so good. I have a feeling that there weren't enough to stock stores with 20-30 drones... more like 1 or 2. LOL
@@OneLiterPeter I went the Amazon route and bought two. One for me and one for my son. I got the $419. package but comes with only one battery. If my $$$$ tree in the back yard was blooming, I would have gone for the more expensive packages. It's being delivered today and I'm very excited to see it. Have fun with yours. I’ve had my Mavic Mini for 9 months and honestly been too nervous to get it out and fly! After watching this video I had the confidence I needed. Took it out yesterday for a few quick flights. It was awesome! Looking forward to much more flying.
Just got combo pack. Set-up seems a bit complicated but will soon becomes 2nd nature. Had my 1st flight today, in a park with no trees. Soon I was doing a fairly good job of controlling my Mini. Taking off and landinding is smooth. It's very stable, not erratic like toy drones. Mini made me feel like I was a decent pilot. If you have any hesitations about buying because u think yer going to crash and burn, don't. Mini and I are going to be good friends for a long time.
After watching almost every drone video, I finally go the Mini today. To start flying, I went back to your video because is the best. Short clear and extremely useful. Great job.

Just wanted to sell my mini 1 that was given to me by my best friend as he bought a new version but then I thought, no, what a gift. And I needed to freshen up my knowledge of this drone as I am not really a joystick person. Great video. Thanks for that. I will keep the drone a bit longer even though I am in urgent need of money.
For beginners, strongly recommend to do your first flight outdoor. I was so excited the first night and i flew indoor and guess what, crashed twice in 5 min, luckily this drone is strong enough. Just did my first outdoor flight today and i would say this tiny thing is amazing

I was so excited to buy one but then I realized that in my country you have to regsiter everything, even if its 3grams, and you need a special certificate approved by the aviation agency and you need to attend a course at the agency to obtain your "license" which you have to pay for ofc. Also you have to file a request to go for a walk and register your legs but it's only 20eur per month so it's allright.
You absolute legend, what a guide! Picked up my mini yestersay and had a small fly (adhd so I was buzzed to get it in the air) and this morning find this guide and what a guide man! Organised, simple to use, learn other bits I didnt know about as well. Perfect and ticks all beginner boxes, thank you, now batteries are charged and ive watched this, its now flying time😂👌
Edited because I just checked their website and you dont need the phone or wifi at all you can fly with just the controller or use the phone for intelligent mode with the live view. According to dji the only time you need wifi is for activating the drone and ofc downloading updates wich is pretty nice !
You covered some features other reviewers did not. The Geo lock, altitude setting and find my drone are good to know. This is no pro model, but may get me into drone video. Sweet little drone. Thanks.

Hey man great video. It covered all my questions except one. Which app do I install for the drone. I'm on android and I cant find the app that you are supposed to use. The only apps that look similar are DJI Go pro4 for drones since P4 and Dji Pilot. I tried both apps and they don't seem to have my drone, which is the mavic mini. It also didnt try to activate my drone. If you could help I would really appreciate it, thanks

Thanks for the great video. After some research and watching various videos I thought that the Mavic mini would be great for my first drone. Luckily my son and daughter in law decided it would a great gift for a fast approaching significant birthday and bought me the fly more combo. This video is excellent in explaining how to set up the drone for flight and how to take it into the air. I have watched it several times and feel ready and prepared for my first flight tomorrow, weather permitting. Thanks again for a fantastic video
Just what a newbie like me needed. Bought the Mavic Mini cheaply (it's old tech now in 2022) to see if it will help me with my photography. If it doesn't, I'm not really out of pocket. If it does, then I'll know what I'm looking for in an upgrade.

I know that this is an older comment but, the mini and the air have the same wifi connection as far as I know. I have never had a problem with the air's wifi and have seen people get over 5 km with the air in low interference areas
been saving for this drone all summer, now that I got it 2 weeks ago, haven't used it yet as I needed a good spot for my first flight, found it yesterday, your video was really helpful and gave me the courage to go ahead and use it, thank you.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME😭 What app do I use for android, I've tried many different apps but every single one doesn't seem to work (the drone's camera is completely dark). Also, I cannot download the dji fly app for some reason too, I tried opening the file but it says "cannot open file" on the bottom of my screen. Sooo if somebody knows something about my problem please let me know

Question for you about the Fly app UI: once you’re connected to GPS and the semicircle icon appears at the bottom centre of your screen, does the moving little arrow represent north or your home location? Thanks!

3 things to help with that fear 1) stay in open field (no tree, no powerlines, no people) 2) use the propeller guards for added peace of mind, it's basically a cage 3) stay in P mode and softly move joysticks
I watched at least 20 videos about drones, this was the best explanation, I didn't plan which one to buy, but this was so informative that I am buying the DJI Mavic Beginners... Only thing during the set up , I can bet that I will get many errors, as I get for any installation... Great Video thank you

Great editing man! Prestine video. I will say I've been using one battery for my jobs since I started two years ago. I have never needed a second battery. So do not take his battery advice to heart. It depends what you use your drone for. My drone was never turned on for more than an hour and I always has plenty of power. The only time I heard low battery was when I was showing my friends for an extended time.. my drone. If you're buying us as a toy then yes. Buy multiple batteries. If you're like me and using this for jobs for dealerships, farms, agriculture etc.... You won't be flying for more than 45 mins. My battery has over 750 hours on it. Time is my enemy now. I say this really big message because money doesn't grow on trees. Only buy what you need. Edit** Please don't slam me for my grammar I do text to speech 😅
Excellent tutorial. This greatly helped as the instructions that came with the drone were very inadequate. Tomorrow will be the test flight. Looking forward to it for my eventual archaeology vlog using the drone. Thanks again.

If I had to recommend a video to someone to get their mavic mini up and running this is the one. For a first time flyer like myself I really enjoyed how he got right to the point. No chit chat in between just gave us really useful info from start to finish. Thank you sir!

Hey man great video. It covered all my questions except one. Which app do I install for the drone. I'm on android and I cant find the app that you are supposed to use. The only apps that look similar are DJI Go pro4 for drones since P4 and Dji Pilot. I tried both apps and they don't seem to have my drone, which is the mavic mini. It also didnt try to activate my drone. If you could help I would really appreciate it, thanks
Your phone is not compatible with the mini. You will need a different phone that is 64bit.

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm flying Parrot Bebop 2 Power Edition at the moment and thinking of purchasing a mav mini. I'm using a Samsung note 4 with the parrot. Is the note 4 too "obsolete" for the mini?
Thanks for the great video. After some research and watching various videos I thought that the Mavic mini would be great for my first drone. Luckily my son and daughter in law decided it would a great gift for a fast approaching significant birthday and bought me the fly more combo. This video is excellent in explaining how to set up the drone for flight and how to take it into the air. I have watched it several times and feel ready and prepared for my first flight tomorrow, weather permitting. Thanks again for a fantastic video
Just what a newbie like me needed. Bought the Mavic Mini cheaply (it's old tech now in 2022) to see if it will help me with my photography. If it doesn't, I'm not really out of pocket. If it does, then I'll know what I'm looking for in an upgrade.

Why has no one done an enhanced Wi-Fi connection test. Mini Vs Air. I still feel the mavic air is the better buy but the Wi-Fi sucks
I know that this is an older comment but, the mini and the air have the same wifi connection as far as I know. I have never had a problem with the air's wifi and have seen people get over 5 km with the air in low interference areas

What app do I use for android, I've tried many different apps but every single one doesn't seem to work (the drone's camera is completely dark).
Also, I cannot download the dji fly app for some reason too, I tried opening the file but it says "cannot open file" on the bottom of my screen.
Sooo if somebody knows something about my problem please let me know

Question for you about the Fly app UI: once you’re connected to GPS and the semicircle icon appears at the bottom centre of your screen, does the moving little arrow represent north or your home location? Thanks!
it will always show your position in relation to the drone so you know where it is in the sky
This is only the second time I have seen an USB Micro A plug on a device, the "normal" USB Micro is B.

im still really scared of running it into something and breaking it...
3 things to help with that fear 1) stay in open field (no tree, no powerlines, no people) 2) use the propeller guards for added peace of mind, it's basically a cage 3) stay in P mode and softly move joysticks

I will say I've been using one battery for my jobs since I started two years ago. I have never needed a second battery.
So do not take his battery advice to heart. It depends what you use your drone for.
My drone was never turned on for more than an hour and I always has plenty of power.
The only time I heard low battery was when I was showing my friends for an extended time.. my drone.
If you're buying us as a toy then yes. Buy multiple batteries.
If you're like me and using this for jobs for dealerships, farms, agriculture etc.... You won't be flying for more than 45 mins.
My battery has over 750 hours on it.
Time is my enemy now.
I say this really big message because money doesn't grow on trees.
Only buy what you need.
