    I'm going to add (thanks to James Smith below), that the strap on the Oris was placed incorrectly within the spring bars, so it DOES fit a man-sized wrist when free to unclip and open for fitting. So on that basis, the Oris becomes much more competitive.
    Best,
    Tim

    I’ve owned the 925 for a month now. Fast becoming one of my favorite in my small collection. Subtle and elegant.

    I bought the Oris. I love the movement and the colors. Can’t get over the 60 click bezel on the Tudor. It’s awesome other than that.

    Just want to add that the strap is elastic, it stretches to fit over one's hand. It's a Marine National (French Navy) strap made to be stretchy and comfortable. I have the Oris, it's amazingly comfortable to wear and very simple to adjust the strap.

    You have the Oris strap on incorrectly. It is supposed to completely come apart and has a hooked latch.

      I knew somebody would figure this out! We had three of them with the same strap issue, and each one had the strap fixed the same way. After a bunch of head scratching, I wondered why it seemed the strap couldn't fit without use of a strap too. Now I know!
      Best,
      Tim

      The strap seems installed correctly. It is a bungee strape and you just have to stretch the loop through your palm.

    For people quibbling over 100 metres water resistance vs 200 metres, the chances of any recreational diver going beyond 100m are very slim. In fact, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) defines anything from 18 to 30 metres (60 to 100 ft) as a "deep dive" in terms of recreational diving. I've happily dived to 18 metres, plenty to see! I suspect many of those concerned about the depth rating won't be going diving in either of these watches anyway ;)

      99% of people wearing dive watches aren't even divers.

    Tudor guy, i have the 925(on strap) it's the superior watch overall & much better investment. I like how you slip a few times referring to its attributes as Rolex. I use Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax Polish to retain the New 925 Silver glow. Great review Tim!

    I think I have to go Tudor in this one, only thing I wish they had a solid caseback and offered a bracelet, in silver. Silver is not _that_ expensive, I'd pay an extra $1k for a full silver case and bracelet.

    • @fengxueshanshenmiao
      @fengxueshanshenmiao 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Given that watch brands in that league usually charged $1k for a decently made modern construction OEM bracelet in STEEL, I'd say a silver bracelet in the same structure will set you back at least $2k or even much more.

      Me as well. Will the stock gray fabric strap is comfortable and functional, I believe it’s a little bland. I’m looking for a nice NATO to put on

    It's not about a waterproof inscription, but about a real certified test. In fact, none of them are divers. The ISO test checks much more than just water resistance. The manufacturer can write whatever he wants on the dial, but he always lowers the parameters for safety. Casio for $20 will go 200 meters. This is really pure marketing. Either there is ISO or not and that's it.

    When Tudor makes steel watches is their steel formulation 904L steel as it is in Rolex models?

    • @Bill.K
      @Bill.K 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't believe so, since Rolex promotes their use of 904L steel and I've never seen it mentioned by Tudor. Think that's one of the differences justifying Tudor's lower pricing.

    • @Nefville
      @Nefville 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I think Tudor only uses 316SS, they don't say on their website and usually when a brand does use 904L they will let you know. Its a big feature and they love to advertise it.

    • @omarion07
