Thanks for the review Ryan. This is indeed the package I’m targeting, not the TRD Pro. Add a lift kit and proper 35” AT tire and you got a capable and modern off-roader
Jun Guo, loose the lift kit, add 3.0 fox racing shocks(aftermarket) . Level front by placing coil on middle perch and ride it with your 35s . No need for more, unless you want to go 37s then some wide body fenders needed. 😎
The price in the video was what Toyota told us is the price of the vehicle as tested. There now seems to be some dispute if that price included the TRD Off-Road package. We’ll confirm with Toyota. However, pricing we received at the time of publishing was as listed for the “Limited TRD Off-Road” as tested plus Panorama moonroof.
I love that you wheel everything and have such expertise describing the systems. Very cool. Even on this pre-arranged course, you find a way to really test the Sequoia.

I completely agree with you. My boss purchased a beautiful GMC Sierra AT4 a year ago. It's been in the shop at least 5 times and some of those were for more than a week. That's just not acceptable to me. I have a 2010 Honda Accord with 160,000 miles and it has never spent a night in a shop. My previous Toyota's were also extremely reliable. I like the look and features of many American vehicles but the reliability just isn't there.

Ryan, Would Falken Mild Peak® be a better name for the tires on the TRD Pro? For the record, many of us would consider the extra sidewall that comes with the 18" rims to be an upgrade on a 4x4. The SR5 with the Off-Road package and NO options seems like the best bet in the Sequoia lineup. ;-)
Or maybe Tame Peak..?? BTW, the new Expedition is the only full-size SUV that didn't have the off-road package (FX4), right..?? (Excluding the Escalade)
I must say, the Limited model looks very handsome. I'm saving some money to get the TRD Pro. But, if I ended up $10K short, I will definitely go with the Limited. This might be a dumb question (newbie here): The limited with TRD offroad package doesn't come with rear suspension. Would this be an issue while towing heavy loads?
Really just looks like a comfortable beast that's going to go for 300,000 miles, but I do wonder how it measures up against the outgoing land cruiser since we can't get the new one.
What are we doing, some online banking??? Why is it saying the session has expired... How is it so difficult for automakers to make function non-annoying digital interfaces...
Hi Ryan. Does adding the OR package result in a front air dam delete? Can we also get a petition together to get Toyota to offer the Auto 4Wd trans in this like the Land Cruiser - lol.
8 seater is a must for me. Especially since the third row limits seating for tall folk. lack of 4 auto is a bummer for the mixed conditions I encounter a few times a year… makes me consider other brands despite my Toyota loyalty.
For $70k this Sequoia spent a lot of effort to climb this rocky hills. I still prefer a 4Runner PrO Offroad. Sequoia is too heavy in my opinion to deliver an average performance
The skidding and traction control issue is another reason why a front Torsen diff is better then a front locker. It won't allow one front tire to skid so the traction control will never cut power. This is one way the LC200 was better then the new LC300 and the Sequoia. I wonder if Toyota will sell one at the dealers like Ford does for the F-150 through it's Performance Parts Catalog.
Thank you, Ryan for a nice review. I plan to get the top of the line Capstone Sequoia when it becomes available in the coming months. Do you think the Capstone can get me through terrain such as this if I happen to be in one? Thank you, Ryan.
Did you have a chance to sit in the second row bench seats? I wonder if they have any more leg/and or head room compared to the captains chairs of the TDR pro.
I'm confused by the pricing since toyota said the limited 4x4 starts at 69k and that doesn't include the TRD off road package, yet they said it was 67.7K as equipt
I am surprised at the pricing. Not bad for $67k Especially if you get the OR package with the limited. Especially with the Domestic market counterparts. I love the front end, The rear is where it loses me.
I was excited about this when they first releasedt photos, but the more I see it, the less I like it. Especially in this Limited trim. That it has no all-wheel drive mode makes zero sense. Even a Jeep Wrangler offers an AWD/ full-time 4WD mode. I think that's going to be a big negative to those in areas that get a lot of snow and want and all weather vehicle. Remembering to switch in and out of 4WD as road conditions change is kind of a PITA, and why all wheel drive crossovers are so popular. Crazy thing is, the first gen that was released in 2001 had the all-wheel drive mode.

How is 2WD better for towing? 2WD vehicles only have better towing rating because they weight less. Which you can't say about a part time 4WD. And every advantage you listed applies to Selectable 4WD vehicles with the 4-auto setting. Cause they have 2wd settings too. The only 2 real advantages to part time 4wd is that it is cheaper and more durable.
