This is definitely one of the reason why I love you guys so much. You all are obviously great musicians but the chemistry and positivity between you guys makes it so much more fun to watch. I wish I could just be around you guys all the time!
man... there is some crazy harmonies going on in there. I love how there is so much space for that melody to shine through. Beautiful. Amazing job guys!!!
It's not a fair question for musicians, or anyone, really. You could ask anyone what their top 5 movies of all time are, or their top 5 songs of all time, and if you were to ask them again the next day, or even an hour later, it wouldn't be the same list!
Petar is such an excellent drummer indeed, more than that he seems to be very close to what a Serbian guy is supposed to be, a "Good Cat" as you say Cory, especially if you're old friends since school time, anyways a BIG UP to ALL of you mates & Greetings from French Britanny, you make my day in each & every video !!!
I had no idea that when I heard the song "Sunset" that it would lead me to a channel that brings so much needed joy to my life. Cory was the one of the three (Tim Henson, Plini) that I wasn't already a fan of and now his is the channel I visit most often.
Yeah man same for me. I followed Tim Henson first, who was recommended from fkj and Tom Misch, along with some of the instruction/music theory/breakdown videos I follow. Then I find someone like Cory Wong all within my 2 years of actually studying music since Covid. Long story short I've been playing since I was 10, but stopped studying at like 16. I learned more in the first 3 months of covid than my entire 6 years truly studying how to play. However! This new set of musicians are on another level I am honestly surprised to witness. It's crazy how much the game as evolved.
Exact same thing. My roots are jazz and blues, but I explored fusion and prog extensively the last years and Intervals, Plini, Owane etc became my heroes. And here we go full circle, returning home.
Best show on the internet! Thank you for keeping us all entertained whether it be with excellent music or engaging and funny band banter. Y'all are the best! So much love for Cory & the WongNotes!
I was supposed to be doing something else here at work, but I'm glad i clicked this. The 1st 2.5 minutes was just awesome, and those horns and solos lifted off to another level. It's a marriage of musicianship and camaraderie. I've watched that part 3 times now!
If you haven't played this disc golf course in LA, it's one to check out when you're there - Hahamongna Watershed Park in La Canada - you can see the JPL campus from there as well
Corey your project is very much appreciated, the help you share to other musicians, the dedication to quality and professionalism with humility. A fantastic ambassador of funk and (other genres sometimes) :) hi from ireland guys, your band are inspirational
Damn man you guys have such a great vibe. Wondering if you guys ever got to play with Prince? He would be so proud to see how amazing musicians have been progressing.
Totally relate to Sam’s high fiber vegan diet. I have the same issue. Love being vegan but my ass does trumpet solos like Jon Lampley. Not a critique of Jon, just a compliment for myself
Unless Sonny aged a few decades in the last few years, there has definitely been at least one player replaced. Hope the original bass player is doing well.
The bassist from the version of Meditation on the boat, I suppose. Looks like he played some gigs with the band this summer. Idk, he might be subbing for Sonny T from time to time.
I love how Corey is like the hype man for the band. You can hear him making all kinds of noises and comments during the song.
Fairly sure the main reason for Sonny to have a mic is to get those laughs on the audio
CALL TOMMY BAHAMA
@@IAmWorseThanYou especially after some ice-cold scrinklies lol
He’s directing the band dude
Him and Sonny are the ultimate hype men
Just as I was looking for something to sip my coffee to, there y'all are.
Prediction: Cory and the Wongnotes will be the house band for a late night show in the next 5 years.
I’ve been thinking the same.
I think cory enjoys touring too much to be tied down to a late night show
i kinda made my show to be an audition reel for this exact thing.
@@CoryWongMusic Go for it!
Lol

As a drummer I can totally relate! Glad Cory reminded Petar to include Porcaro! Gotta love the half-time shuffle groove with the ghosting!
Cory's also playful torturing him on the choice of favourite drummers😄

Already have tix for DC in Feb!! Can't wait to see you all live.
I hope Negah Santos has her own tour bus.

Petar almost got fired like 5 or 6 times in this video alone.
You guys are an inspiration
Hey Cory, when are you guys coming to Australia?you must come,I PROMISE you,you guys will LOVE IT
🇦🇺🇦🇺👊👊😁😁
yeah we've got some terrific disc golf courses down under!
That show at Newport was INCREDIBLE! I'm loving these Q&As! Y'all are so inspiring.
DISC GOLF IS LIFE!!!!! Love the shout out to the greatest sport in the world.
First off the song at the beginning almost brought me to tears and I don’t know why 🥲😂
Petar should make a tier list of all of his drumming influences and favorite drummers so he can truly rank them! Haha! New video idea!
New Cory vid! Great way to start the day. Thanks man.
That was funny!
Great way to end a day too 😇
@@matto9734 so true
Definitely some duke Ellington horns arrangements for this one. Reminded me of futuristic Isfahan and take the a train as far as the horns go

I hope to see you guys in Europe one day!!!!
They were in Europe this summer
See you in LA!!!!
Too much fun.. Love it
I completely agree with Cory! You can’t lump your favorite drummers in one pick! Definitely not Omar Hakim and Dennis chambers… lol
i'm still offended for them
I have at least 17 drummers in my top 5... with Petar even 18 ;P
I feel Petar always being last at disc golf every time but still going lol
That new take on Smokeshow is dope!
Cory is kinda giving me Michael Scott vibes, but like, in a good way
Watching these makes me really miss being in a band.
Cory you gotta come to PEI for the best disc golf in Canada
That room sounds amazing for the drums. Absolutely massive!
If you haven't played this disc golf course in LA, it's one to check out when you're there - Hahamongna Watershed Park in La Canada - you can see the JPL campus from there as well
Corey, check out Rooster Rock if you're looking for some disc golf when you're in Portland
Favorite thing about touring - Disc Golf!
It sounds great 👍 bravo 👏🎶🎹👍🎵
Really great videos, i recently subscribed and i am having such a good time!
back here again just for the intro.
Corey your project is very much appreciated, the help you share to other musicians, the dedication to quality and professionalism with humility. A fantastic ambassador of funk and (other genres sometimes) :) hi from ireland guys, your band are inspirational
fantastic..
Ghaaaadaaa! Awesome. Can't wait for FEB ruary.:)
Disc Golf!!
This was so enjoyable to watch and listen to, thank you!
Can you guys please tour in New Zealand
Dang it! I hate being late to the party. They played Seattle before I even knew who they were!! 😩
Thanks Cory!
The beginning reminds of Kajagoogoo - Too Shy
been watching all these in a row Cory Wong the musical guru 🎶🎵 🧘♂️
I love this band.
Love it!!!
Ahh, you guys! Love you! Love your vibes!
Sitting here waiting for Petar to say Jeff like …⏱🤷🏽
What was that heavenly outro music 😳🔥
Love you cory
Let super secret band open for you in the pnw 🤫🤫🤫
Damn man you guys have such a great vibe. Wondering if you guys ever got to play with Prince? He would be so proud to see how amazing musicians have been progressing.
YAY FOR CORY
captivating!!
Maestro Wong.
Wow. So awesome
“That’s tight” 💀
Kenni, great mclidic sense
melodic
Petar is ready to fire Cory.
What song was the intro? I can't get enough of the horns.
"That's tight!" at the end! 😅
LOVE these!!!!
Bob Newhart Theme. Bob Funky Newhart Funky Please.
Died laughing at "One bar of 3/4 and on the downbeat you hit #19 of the regular farts"
Always stellar
This song in the beginning though...
John Woo Doves!!!! JOHN WOO DOVES!!
Gotta love the horns?
Ive always wondered how much of the video editing you do because this production is locked down
Your editor is on fucking fire!
Greetings & Hugs 🤘
I'm getting a lot of Spyro Gyra vibes from Kenny's sax solo....
"That's tight"
I scrolled down way too far to find this!
8:17 - "That was tight!" Lmao.
Practicing all those long low tones 😁
Keep em coming 😍🔥
The drummer got eager!
Where's Waldo?
👌👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👌👌👌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦫🦫🦫🦫🇺🇸🇺🇸😎🌭🥓🎸🥓🍝🎉get that boy a Waldo hat.... change the stripes to red and voila ...
Sounds a bit like Spyro Gyra or The Rippingtons…
Band members don't get fired. They just decompose. I bet that alto player is on thin ice.
Dang. Y'all even fart on the grid. 😎 another level.
what is the song at the start called? have they released it?
Pretty sure it's an arrangement of "Celebration"
Could be a jazzy arrangement of Smokeshow by Cory
Notice how much Cory likes to razz Petar?!🤭
15 years of friendship and 12,000 gigs together will do that to people.
@@CoryWongMusic BTW, do you have a virtual "suggestion box" for listeners to put forth other artists you might do features with???🤔
"That's tight!" 😆

I think it might actually be "J.A.M. (Just a Minute)" (but both excellent songs!)

You gotta do something with the fart choir my man please 🙏🏻
Billy Cobham......
that was tight! LOL

"Who stinks the most on tour?"
*Camera immediately pans to Petar*
Got to admit, that Fart app was hysterical.
Trail songs dawn and dusk are my disc music brother. Hit me up to play a round and you WILL MAKE MY DECADE
get you a band that can fart-app in time together
Alexa has a pretty sweet fart app too. Great fun if you have an 8 year old. Or a 45 yr old.
