An arrest warrant out for a guy who's saved Detroit countless times and is a cyborg? I doubt anyone wants to arrest Murphy, considering he wouldn't do anything without a reason.
@kfures3469 it makes me think of the Sean Connery movie The Rock. He is wrongfully imprisoned and is offered a full pardon to go back to his daughter if he helps, but once it gets back to the FBI director, he tears it up. Nicolas Cage helps him throughout the movie, and when Cage has a chance at the end to apprehend him, knowing what mistreatment awaits, he refuses and administratively declares him dead so he can be free
Can you imagine how badass this scene would have been if it was rated R? Murphy would torching and blasting Rehabs with his Flamethrower and SMG combo in one arm and and his Auto-9 in another.
Amen. It appears that's what the director wanted to do (as the next scene implies Robocop killed quite a few Rehab's), but the Studio exec's wanted a family rating 🤦♂️ . (in part because the studio was going bankrupt and they were desperate to get bottoms in seats... and didn't believe an R Rated release would do it)
It bums me out and makes me mad that Robocop 3 was supposed to be rated r, and I didn’t care what the studio exec’s were saying or what were they thinking by going bankrupt, I really think that this movie should’ve been rated r because I love rated r movies, if the studio exec’s hadn’t and never got involved in this situation then Robocop 3 would’ve been an excellent rated r movie that literally would’ve had like 92 or 96 rotten tomatoes.
@@jimtaylor294 The execs realized how popular Robocop toys were with kids and decided to make a kid-friendly movie, where Robocop is basically a Batman type hero who has a "no killing" rule.
Such a PG line as opposed to the profanity and violence of the first film!! Notice while Robo goes on this spree, he doesn't actually kill or harm anyone, he just trashes the operations centre.
@bobpage6597 It is strong language for Robocop though 😂 (as a character he oddly enough doesn't insult anyone in the 1st film; he just perforated them)
"Do you know there's a warrant out for your arrest?" "Yes." "I was just checking." Say what you want about this movie, even this whole series, but one thing is an objective fact: Sergeant Reed is the greatest cop in the history of reality.
Given it was probably developed by OCP, who are known for giving their prototype law enforcement robots live ammo during demonstrations, putting a flamethrower into a multi-functional firearm (no pun intended) sounds about right.
Alex Murphy aka Robocop: "Allow me, SCUM!!!" [threateningly] "Where's McDaggett?!!!" (This is exactly the main reason as to why you don't wanna even think about ticking off Robocop!)
I always loved the Robo-theme played when he gets up, felt it shows the emotion in his character. Even though the movie is usually panned by fans and critics alike, it had some good scenes. I also thought the slightly heavier footsteps weren't bad either.
Pittsburgh Police Department Sargent Charles Lewis: Montgomery. RoboCop: Greetings Sargent Lewis. Evan: Do you know there's a warrant out for your arrest? *Cricket sounds and silence* RoboCop: Yes. Charles: I was just checking, what can I do for you? RoboCop: Please direct me to the Rehab Staging area. Charles: It's just down the hall next to the break room, you can't miss it. RoboCop: Thanks. You may want to call the Fire Department.
Commenters complain for being not r rated, but doesn't it supposed to be r rated, because of profanity words still used in this film like the other two, it didn't look family friendly for still using bad words in and now we have A.I. someone would change his voice to make it sound like Weller's voice like someone did to action-live scar to sound like the cartoon scar of the lion king.
At 1:30 Robocop should’ve not tell the Detroit policeman to call the fire department because mcdaggett is the one who shot and killed officer Lewis, and the rehabs are the ones who almost killed Robocop while mcdaggett shot Robocop with a Grenada launcher plus the rehabs and mcdaggett deserve to die in this movie, if the directors or the producers had cut that part out it would’ve made it better by the way Robocop 3 would’ve been an excellent movie if it was rated r.
From a logical standpoint, the building is still the Detroit PD's precinct headquarters, meaning despite the rehabs being there, it's the police's building. Can't exactly get much done if your own building is burnt down, now can you?
It really bums me out that the directors should have stuck with the original script plus this movie would’ve been better off as a rated r movie, I mean I love Robocop 1 and 2 but rumor has it that the original script for Robocop 2 was a time traveling, and for Robocop 3 the original script that it was an abandoned love story such a crazy ideas for both of those movies I feel like 2 of those original scripts would’ve been better than the ones we got for Robocop 2 and Robocop 3.
Sadly not; though the next scene suggests it was initially being planned as such, with the line "If I were at the Police station I'd be dead now" (implying Robo' originally was to perforate most of the Rehab' goons while tearing up the place).
@@Nick_SaillyHOW. Why does everyone say this. 2 is so infinitely better than 3 and so much closer to the 1987 original. There isnt even just ONE good scene in 3 lol.
"Murphy do you know there's a warrant out for your arrest?"
"Yes."
"I was just checking. What can I do for you?"
Also notice how Reed very happily showed Robocop the way. He's been wanting this to happen for ages.
@@ajwatcher yep
The way Robocop says "Yes" is rather amusing.

Alright you got a Robocop. You got an alien cop? Huh? You got a ghost cop? You got a vampire cop? 😂😂

Yup. He was thinking "excellent; he can get rid of 'em for us!" 😂
That little grin would've said it all, even without a line.
While a great attachment for Robocop I've always wondered the thinking behind giving a cybernetic cop a flame thrower.
To be fair; British Cops in the early days had Swords 😅
