This is not a sponsored video I honestly really love this 65% keyboard. It's pricey at 180 dollars but it's got hot swappable switches allow you to add in whatever switches you want at any time and very conveniently. Let's say one month you want cherry mx blue switches and then you decide it's not for you you can then pick up some switches for around 45 dollars and revamp your whole keyboard.. Way better than dropping another 100 dollars on a brand new keyboard just to get new switches.

I think that this keyboard is technically considered a 65% board because of the dedicated arrow keys. Still a great footprint for a keyboard. I'm waiting for mine to come in. Switching from a TKL.

Just got mine a few days ago and I love this keyboard. It is actually such an incredible keyboard. I got mine with the speed silvers and they feel and sound so good. I am typing this comment with it. It is amazing with gaming and such joy when it comes to typing. It gets a 5 out of 5 stars for me. I am coming from an old clunky razer keyboard and honestly, this is such a massive upgrade. Shout out to drop, I can't wait to get different switches and have that flexibility when it comes to a keyboard! Oh and awesome video! Earned yourself a subscriber!
Yo can i swap the switches with gateron and kailh switches?
@@kevindebruin4576 it depends on the type of switches. It's hard to explain but some can pop into the board and some have like pegs that need to be snipped or clipped off to fit board if that makes sense. Hopefully that helps

Ordered their high profile barebones kit, I'm excited about the hot swap not because I'm going to be swapping my switches around all the time, but because if a switch fails, I can just replace it instead of replacing the whole keyboard.

I actually didn’t pick them by hand I randomized then researched the people to make sure they were legit and not bots and actually followed the rules of the giveaway so it only benefitted everyone. I honestly didn’t have to give anything away could have just kept it for myself but I wanted to do something that would benefit others but it always brings out the worst in some people who just can’t be happy for others. Flytz dude trust me the ducky one 2 mini is probably one of the best keyboard , there is no final keyboard or best keyboard , anne pro 2 , ducky one 2 mini , massdrop alt keyboard are inside the ( endgame keyboards) best of the best , i have the 3 of them plus few corsair and razer and the 3 i just mentioned are my favorite

I just got my ducky one 2 mini with blue switches the 31st and bought a new one with brown switches that comes damn near february. I saw this keyboard along the way but never payed It any mind due to the lack It reviews. i’m bout to cancel that order and go with one of these, great content

Thanks for this! I was originally disappointed after I watched ur review on the ducky one 2 mini due to the fact that their sold out. The Massdrop ALT is a great alternative and is a keyboard I’ll definitely cop!
would u recommend this over the ducky? im tied on the two not sure what to get or switches would u recommend i plan on mixing a bit of both reds and browns in the board for both gaming and typing but yea and does this have like nk roll over and antighosting and stuff?
Yes it has nk roll over and antighosting most keyboards over 100 should have those at this point. I think red for gaming or if you are a heavy Typer if you are a light typer go with the browns they’ll be better for you.

I'm sorry to say that the sound engineering part is a bit too loud, like 04:53. I switched to another tab while watching this part, and the sound freaked me out. I'm using a SONY WI-1000x noise canceling headphone, i think it's the bass part that was too strong.

Im happy someone made a review on this keyboard i just bought it 4 days. It a great keyboard but my keyboard in specific had a problems. Im just going to copy and paste everything that I put on this keyboard's discussion page:
"Hi I need some help here I got this keyboard 2 days ago, and I have been running into problems. The biggest problem is for some reason this keyboard freezes, and disconnects by it's self. The next problem ties into the last. When the power to the keyboard is disconnected by myself or when the keyboard freezes the keyboard doesn't reconnect when I try to plug it in (or unplug, and then plug it back in when it freezes). When this happens I try plugging it in to every USB 2.0, and 3.0 port I have with no success. I also tried to use the left USB-C port because I only used the right, and that didn't work either. Only after I wait 5-10 minutes me plugging in the keyboard works. I was typing this last night, and I tested to see if i unplug the USB-C will the keyboard turn back on if plug it in it didn't. The only thing that I'm not using out of the box with this keyboard is custom key caps from HyperX I don't see how that could be the source of the problem I just wanted to throw that out there. I already given up on using this keyboard as my main keyboard, and bought a Anne Pro 2. I'm planning to use this keyboard for my streaming PC now. Any help will be great when the keyboard works it great I just want it to work all the time. Thanks".
Don't get me wrong THIS KEYBOARD IS GREAT. Just because my keyboard was doo doo doesn't mean your's will just keep in mind when you buy this keyboard
I had the same problem with my logitech g502 where it didnt connect even though i plugged it in. So my problem was that these indents in the usb plug thingy wasnt going into the usb port causing it so that the USB connnection wasnt solid. IDK if you have the same problem but to me it sounds like it, I solved this by getting a usb hub and it worked really well.

You *really* should try the Tecware Phantom RGB. It comes in TKL and Full-size, has hotswappable switches, has great programmable RGB, and it's only $45.

The wooting one or two is cheaper, and has ANALOG keys, and you can also hotswap the keys. Why arent people hyping over that?
Ducky Shine series is the keyboard endgame IMO. This one is great yeah but the lack of F keys limits it severely for a lot of games.

I am typing this comment on that exact keyboard (even the browns). Great board, I do thing the space bar it came with is a bit high (I usually reverse my spacebar), but I already changed it out with new modifier keycaps (transparent galaxy)...
I would gladly pay that price if it only had Bluetooth built in too. This has literally everything else I'm looking for but I want a wire-free desk most of the time and the ability to connect to a laptop and my android tv box without carrying the cable. *sigh*. Is there no 65-70% keyboard (or PCB) with rgb, hot-swappable switches, and bluetooth?

I got the CTRL Keyboard and both units had bad LEDs so I had to return. Ended up losing $40 in customs and time.

Hi @BrandonTaylor, I picked up the ALT High-profile and love it. I know you swapped the keycap set for the Mito Laser set (a great looking customization). I actually like the original keycaps. I have an odd request for you. The original keycap set only comes with one Ctrl keycap. The way I've programmed my keyboard I have two Ctrl keys (one mapped to the Windows button that I don't use). My OCD is bothered by not having the corresponding correct keycap on that key. So ... would you be willing to part with the Ctrl keycap from your original set? I'll happily pay.
i pearsonally think the ducky one 2 mini would be a bit more price friendly and fits my needs but this would be nice to try out

Yeah but only slightly because of the flexibility with switches and the dedicated arrow keys are nice with almost the same overall size

@@Estebeezy So, Canada Post did not have it ready to pick up yesterday. Let me use it for the weekend and let you know my thoughts! I got mine with the Halo True switches. He was typing on an audio browser window, so that's why the pausing and unpausing he wasn't actual typing on a document. Stay tuned!
hiebzyy thanks let me know how it is I might get it barebones so I can put browns in them. Oh and let me know if there’s any pinging sounds when bottoming then out because my Logitech does that since it’s an aluminum body.
I’m fine with my ducky one 2 mini frozen llama with cherry mx blues and one cherry mx silver on the capslock key which I use to edit in a game I play so I need it to activate quickly

Can someone explain why theres such a big price on a massdrop alt compared to a ducky. I'm actually deciding if I should get the alt or ducky and I want to know if the alt has the cure for cancer or something

As an owner of a number of custom boards imo this kb looks beautiful, is one of my favourite layouts, qmk compatible (my favourite firmware) and for a custom keyboard isn't that expensive however as someone who has designed keyboard pcbs including a hotswap of the same layout. I dont understand how they cam ship it, the pcb is a spaghetti mess that has been thrown together with little care in as little time as possible to maximize profits which is not the first time this has happened so personally with that and how the skimped on quality with Rama's board as well as many other bad stories on geekhack I will not be buying the alt
