      Would be nice to see and update on how it held up, what would have done different, anything you regret and maybe how it is compared to your other keyboards maybe? And would have been really happy if you linked everything you used to make the keyboard so we could get the products and sizes . Btw love your channel, keep going budz:)

    You sir did a good job on that Drop alt high profile keyboard. A lot of enthusiasts give this board the donkey dung just because of the high price and integrated top plate design. I personally think it's still a viable option to this day because it's well built and with proper modifications this boards can go toe to toe against the most expensive options in terms of sound quality, rigidity, function and looks . Props to you for recommending this board over others despite its short comings.

    Planning on modding my low-pro Drop Alt next week. Ordered some milky top gat yellows, Durock plate mount stabs, 67g Durock gold springs, switch film, Krytox 205g0 and stab foam stickers (vs band aids). Never knew about stupidfish foam until this vid as I was going to go by Lowe's and buy a sheet of it to cut into shape, but I'm sold on it after that sound test and ordered their Alt kit. All I'm missing now is some dielectric grease for the stabs and I'm hoping to have a completely different keyboard soon! Also coming from some secondhand-bought, unlubed Zealios V2. Was debating whether to throw them in my Keychon, but think I will go a different route on that board with (new) tactile switches that haven't had their legs clipped. GREAT VID!!!

    suposedly you can repair / mod the stock ALT stabs with some bandaid / medical tape, a clip job, and lube. I just ordered a prebuilt Drop ALT with Kiahua blue switches off ebay (standard low case). If the switches and stabs are at least useable enough that I can type error free, I won't rush into moding it. I have a feeling even the Drop 'junky' stabs are better than what DELL puts on it's keebs!
    BTW, I LIKE clicky switches, but the hollow sound isn't music to my ears. So I might check out that foam kit.

    The stabs are good as any other after you lube them. I just spent $10 on a tool set with some china lube and now the keyboard parallels the best I've ever used. You really don't need to buy anything to make most mechanical keyboards perfect as long as the frame is solid and has the features you need.

      @StupidBulletsTech  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m glad you like the one you have. Remember, that video was made several years ago, and the stabs were awful. It was pretty well documented. I even had a convo with the drop folks last year at a meet who recognized me from that vid haha, they have upgraded them considerably since then. Since then I’ve built many dozens of boards, and it is far from “the best” but I kept mine as it was my first fancy one :) Now we have amazing keyboards for a fraction of what they cost 3-5 years ago.
