The first fight when Pacquiao knocked down JMM three times and broke his nose, all in the first round. I was thinking, why is this guy not KO'd, why does he keep pushing forward when others couldn't recover? That's pure courage and willpower. Three fights later he KO'd Pacquiao. What an amazing turn of events.

Thank you so much for putting the old fights in the best quality possible. I’ve always had the upmost respect for the older generations, but just being honest, seeing them in bad quality film makes it hard to truly appreciate them as much as they should be. Knockouts are definitely the best part of boxing. No question. But when we see a permanent injury or a death, it really reminds us that we find joy in seeing other potentially die. That’s why I’ll always respect any fighter who steps in there willing to take that risk. They risk their lives for our entertainment.

And he was killing Marquez. Honestly, was bout to either get a tko or ko stoppage if he made it out of that 6th round. It was literally 1 sec left when Marquez caught Manny slipping hardcore & made him pay dearly. Pacquiao was never ever the same boxer after that brutal ko. He lost his power instantly with that knockout. And Floyd’s bitch ass waited Manny out & ducked him for the longest time & only until he sees Manny’s body/career deteriorated like a mfer is when he accepted to fight Manny. And idiots who says well how can that be when Floyd is 2 yrs older than Manny??? Boxing casuals don’t kno that due to their styles, one boxer can aged older so much quicker than another boxer if he has the type of style that Manny has bcuz Manny has been in SOOO MANY DOPE & BRUTAL ASS WARS whereas Floyd has not at all. That’s why ppl loved watching a Manny fight bcuz u kno ur gon get ur money’s worth with hella action lol real talk! I think Manny beats Floyd in his prime, before the Marquez ko loss. The Manny boxer that made Oscar De La Hoyer quit. That Manny was the best Manny ever IMO & no bs no lie I think that Manny beats Floyd without a doubt 100000000% 💯💯💯 Floyd ducked Manny for a longggggg ass time yo 💯💯💯

The four fights with Marquez and Pacman were so damn crazy. During those years, aside from the first Morales fight basically nobody was able to give manny the trouble like Marquez. To get beaten so badly early in their first fight somehow Marquez was able to get a draw, the next two just as crazy. It was good seeing Marquez get that win especially in the way he did. Part of what made it so impressive is how he was able to consistently land good shots when Pacman was so much faster, he had to have perfect timing

People complain about early stoppages. I hope this video serves them well to understand why they try to protect their fighters a little more now. No man leaves the ring the same after this type of punishment. We all cry “early stoppage” but forget about the damages endured once they’ve retired.

    • @vinnieriley7227

It's crazy watching the old highlights. Guys getting knocked down six or more times. Once someone has taken that punishment it's very unlikely they'll get up and win. I don't mind the earlier stoppages nowadays. There's no reason to continue a one-sided beating.

It's boxing, it's not supposed to be safe. People have always understood this, the fighters themselves most of all. If it's a question of safety then put them in body armor and have them pillow fight.

@@surgicalboxing1551 they certainly shouldn't be penalized for hitting too hard or actually trying to play defense as is the case now. It's funny because boxing is actually a very unique sport in which the participant can legitimately quit at any time without it being considered weird. In fact, if they want to quit but are afraid of criticism, they can back up against the ropes, take a shot to their guard, then fall down or take a knee for 10 seconds and the fight is over. This is not to mention the fact that they have a designated employee watching the fight who can end it any time on behalf of the fighter. It's not even a question of "well you chose to do this with your life you chose to be in there." It's literally a question of, you can quit at any second for any or no reason.
