your daughter is so excited for her bento even though you havent cooked in that box makes me cry at 7am for the wholesomeness. 😭😭 Glad youre back imamu! i missed your cooking!!! 😭😭
your daughter speaking japanese to english real quick and smooth reminds me of myself speaking my mother tongue then english. It confuses foreigners but to me it just comes off naturally. Sometimes I mix it with my two other languages which I learned from my mom and dad who was born in different provinces. Anyways, she looks adorable when she asked about the bento and the sudden bento arrangement 😂
When I was very young, and didn’t know my mother language, I used to speak in English too. As I got a bit older, there was this one time, my mother spoke in English to me, and it embarrassed me so much I never spoke in English with her ever again.
I would recommend adding paprika to mayo-heavy things like egg/potato/macaroni salad or coleslaw! It adds a bit of of a kick and brings that pop of beautiful red color :)
It's also really good on octopus! There's a really simple Spanish dish called pulpo a la gallega. You just boil your octopus, cut it into round slices, serve it with potatoes (usually also boiled) and season the whole thing with olive oil and paprika to taste. It's delicious both with normal and spicy paprika!
@@Riwy1942 I'm from Galicia myself (I don't know if you are too hahah) and it's an amazing dish but it's way more complicated than it seems. I would recommend just buying the tentacles and not the whole thing to people who aren't familiar with octopus cooking. Also even though it makes a big difference in flavour I believe it's easier just buying non fresh ones. But yes, definitely a dish worth trying :)
@@IriaC I'm from Cádiz actually, we just love that dish around here xD They serve it in a lot of restaurants, it may not be as good as the real deal though. I didn't even think about the tentacles! Makes a lot of sense, I wouldn't even know how to cut the body pfff
Congrats on the 1M subs! You were missed; it's amazing to see a small view into your travels. As a grandparent, I know the amazing love that comes with knowing your grandbabies and your mom's heart was no doubt overjoyed with spending time with her granddaughter! I was coveting all of those beautiful wooden bentos...
This channel is everything that a youtube channel should be. You have found such a good balance, with the carefulness to protect your young daughter from too much social media exposure while still showing off her personality. Loved the Japan vlog and the Tim Horton's and finding the vegetable peeler was priceless!
I also love how she's not trying too much to be perfect. She shows her flaws, like most of us do. Example at 11:38. just little mistake, but I like it. It's more comfortable to watch people not trying too much to be perfect-if that makes any sense. It just feels homely too, seeing her bonding with her family without being a solid family-blog kinda thing.
I’m so happy for you that you three got to travel to Japan and spend time with family! It’s always good to travel and see family in other countries every so often, and aside from you being sick I hope it was tons of fun! Thank you for your videos that always bring me peace of mind and congrats again on 1 million subscribers!!! the silver and gold buttons on display really are well-deserved trophies! ❤️
Your daughter is extremely cute. I was cheering her on when she was challenging herself to put her bento together! :) Also the dishes you make always look so delicious. I hope to cook as well as you one day! ❤️ Love from Florida!
It was super sweet seeing your daughter figuring out how to close the box and being so proud of herself for being able to do it by herself 💖. You must feel proud as her parent
I used to have a lot of trouble finding the motivation and inspiration to cook proper (not instant) food everyday but watching these videos has really helped me to keep trying and be more consistent with food prep and daily cooking. Thanks Imamu!
I had therapy today so when I got home I was looking for something soothing to watch and I definitely found it. Thank you Imamu! Sending love and aloha from Hawaii! 🌈 ☀️
Ah that good old “zebra”… as a Thai, I can assure you that the lunchbox of this brand last really long. I have the typical thai-style lunchbox that has been staying with me since 10 years old. After almost 2 decades (with some crashes when I dropped it) it still looks completely fine.
Is it just me, or are her videos just as heartwarming and satisfying as the food/cooking scenes in Studio Ghibli films? I get very much the same vibe and I loooove it!
Imamu should publish bento recipes book, you are my motivation on packing everyday lunch to work❤️Thanks to you that I can save quite a lot from that 💸
I also really love Azerbaijani cuisine! It is very rich in different tastes, and there are dishes for every taste and budget. I especially like grilled meat✨ there are many Azerbaijanis in my city, so I was lucky to try almost all the dishes in their restaurants :) thank you for your videos, I always look forward to update on your channel!❣️
I'm dealing with grief and there are "easy" days and "hard" days. The last week had a lot of hard days, and I felt like I didn't want to eat anything. I think my dinner was chocolates bars for like, 4 days? Then I found your videos! I'm from Brazil and because the foods are very different from what I'm used to, I felt curiosity about the taste and it actually made me want to cook again. Today, I added sesame seeds to my salad and did the mayo and egg thing. It tastes very good! So, thank you. ❤️
Dear Imamu, I love your channel and have been watching it almost from the very beginning. I am from Azerbaijan and it was a pleasant surprise that now you watch my country's cuisine. Cannot wait for more of your videos!
The vlog at the end was such a treat! I’m so glad you guys got to go back and see your family and that your daughter could experience it for the first time. Thank you for sharing with us ♥️
Imamu if you're still liking Azerbaijani food, Kand Hayati makes amazing things on her channel, from her fairytail-like home in the Azerbaijan countryside 🇦🇿 ....thanks for another great video! Loved that last meal 🥢Congrats on 1 million subscribers - well deserved!!
It gives me such a warm feeling to be part of your family in a way, to see in each vídeo how your daughter is growing makes me so happy because I have a sister of my own, but I couldn't stay with her as she grew (She's a teen now), so your videos fill up that space in my heart 💖
When I read that Japan was opening back up to foreign nationals I was happy to see you able to go back home and visit. Thanks so much for the Japan update as well as your normal bento cooking.
This was such a lovely video - especially at the end when you shared your trip to Japan. It must have been so wonderful to see your family and your country after so long. Thank you!!
I cheered along with her when your daughter managed to get the top on the bento right. She has grown up so much! And is so well spoken. Love your videos!

I missed you guys so much!! So happy you’re back to surviving the day with beautiful husbentos and sharing with us. How wonderful to go back home to see your family and I bet your mom loves your little girl so much! She is such a joy. Thank you Imamu!
Hello Imamu, gosh it's been a while, but now we know why! I'm so glad to hear you're now through Covid and I hope you were still able to enjoy your trip home to see your families. I love the wooden bento box store, so many lovely products! 😍 Thank you fir showing us some of the supermarket in Japan. Take care and hopefully we see you again sooner rather than later. ❤️ from NZ. Last but not least huge congratulations on your Gold play button! 👏
I started watching imamu during the pandemic - just watching her cook and interact with her daughter reminded me so much of my mom and me when I was small, with us speaking Spanglish to each other. I can only imagine how much my mom misses those moments. Now two years later I'm pregnant with my first baby, a girl, and now I can't wait to have my own time in the kitchen with her 🥺
Looks like you had a great visit home! Happy that youtwo & your daughter were able to connect with and enjoy time with family. Lovely shops! Lots of fun shopping too! Very happy your trip to and from Japan was otherwise uneventful. Feeling blessed to have you back! Lovely looking food, as always! Congrats on the golden button!!
Wow so good to have you back and healthy. 🥰❤ What a lovely trip. So healing to see family. I am happy for you all. 💐Congratulations on 1M subs. celebration time 🎉

OMG I can’t believe I really missed you because you popped up in mind today and saw that you’ve posted . It’s good to have to back and can’t wait to watch more of you now 😊🌹
I love your videos! Congratulations for receiving your golden button. You must have been so happy to go back to Japan after 5 years. Nothing is better than home.
I may not be a mom, but watching these videos makes me think of the mom I wish I had and pushes me to keep moving forward in my cooking and my life. Thank you Imamu, I'll keep fighting forward through the weeks with you!
congrats on the YT award. I enjoy watching your recipes. I was surprised that you are not living in Japan now. I grew up eating the Western type of Japanese food (omu-rice, curry rice, tonkatsu) so seeing your foods makes me think of my childhood foods. I should try to make some of your dishes but so far I enjoy watching you make them and the bento plating.
Thank you so much for sharing your trip to Japan with us! I'm very lucky to live in Vancouver, so I get to see tons of cherry blossoms in May here :) but it always makes me think of Japan when I do. Of every country in the world to visit, I think I'd most like to go to Japan. Your videos always make me so happy and calm, I like watching them before I go to bed. I think they help keep away bad dreams! :)
Just found you yesterday and subbed today! Your food always looks amazing and your family is always fun to see! Your daughter is a delight, I'm sure she'll grow to be a great cook like you!
You just know you missed Imamu when you watch her previous videos at least once a week🥹 Also, the Azerbaijani cuisine’s channel has also been my recommendation since the last time Imamu posted🥰🥰
19:18 The way you plate the pasta in little bite-sized nests reminds me of my mom cutting my sandwiches into quarters when I was in elementary school here in America. Love makes itself most apparent in small gestures like this.
aaaaahhh I love the little one's style of speaking! Its always an extra mood booster when Im watching your videos. Shes so adorable, and her cute blue bento box suits her perfectly ✨👌
Imamu, you bring so much joy to my days!! I absolutely love your videos, and thank you for including little bits of your trip! I just moved across the country from my family, so it was so sweet to get to see you reunite with everyone after so long away from Japan. I’m disabled and have huge trouble cutting foods and cooking, but your videos are inspiring me!! I would love more than anything to make my husband lunches for work, so I’m going to give it a try!! I just need to pick some easy dishes and maybe make big quantities of sides that I can use throughout the week. I’ll make it work somehow!! 💪 Thank you so much for your fun and wonderful videos and your inspiration! Let’s survive this week! ❤️
We have fiddleheads here in Alaska. They taste fantastic sauteed in butter with garlic and mushrooms. Then you can fill a trout with it and roast in a campfire while its wrapped in foil.
There’s something comforting about this channel, and watching you cook delicious looking food. It brings back memories of watching my mother cook for me and my sister.
I wasn't expecting the vlog part... My hearth was pounding with excitement and nostalgia. I still live in my hometown and I've never travelled, but I imagine myself living in a foreign country in the future, and somehow I felt the same emotions
I'm so glad you and your family got the chance to visit Japan! You always talked about how much you missed it. Thank you once again for sharing your recipes and family with us, and Happy Father's Day to Husbento!
Wilderness cooking, fun channel. 👍🏼. Also, fiddleheads, so wild seeing them on your channel. Great video and thanks for sharing parts of your trip to Japan. Welcome home! 🎉
I like listening to Imamu Room during hard times or just as something to listen when I'm doing homework. When I'm feeling sad, I just put on her cooking videos. It's helps me with thinking about doing something I love doing, like cooking, instead of dwelling over the cause of my sadness.
Your daughter's determination when putting her bento compartments in place was positively adorable! I love that you asked if she wanted help, accepted that she didn't, and allowed her to keep trying until you were able to cheer for her success. I bet that felt really great to her!
What a great video. It’s so wonderful you were able to return to Japan for a great visit. I know there are things that’s you really miss. Beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing your life. Congratulations for getting your gold button. Your videos warm my heart and teach me to cook special dishes for my husband. 😄
i love how you teach your daughter perseverance, she doesn't seem to get upset if she makes a mistake! she just giggles and tries again and thats important!
Thank you for sharing your videos and life. I really enjoyed your captions from the trip to Japan, I wish I had your ability for editing (and cooking)... I expect to travel to Japan next year. Congratulations for your prizes and followers in TH-cam, they are well deserved! Greetings from Spain.
I needed this video this week. Home sick with covid myself. I dodged it for two whole years. It sucks being sick on vacation, but as someone who lives overseas away from family myself, if it was eating into my time to see them, I would be so frustrated. Congrats on the gold play button!
Your video of products in Japan was amazing, I loved how kind that man was when he gifted you the forks. Also the food and the shops in Japan are presented and decorated so beautifully, it feels like a special experience. I'm glad you and your family had a beautiful time with your relatives ❤️ 💕 💖 from back home
This was so beautiful, I loved seeing your memories from your family trip back to Japan ❤️ so sweet that your daughter got to see your mom and hometowns, very special and hopefully the first trip of many!
Your trip home vlog made me a bit emotional, so glad you got to return home. I applaud your traditional food prep even when it’s not as easy to get the ingredients overseas. Much better than falling into the fast food, pre prep culture
Congratulations on reaching 1 million subscribers. Your beautiful little family more than deserves the recognition. You produce the most relaxing and heart warming videos on TH-cam......I look forward to every single video you make. I wanted to hug your Mum........my baby, who is 25 years old, left home for the first time on Friday last week.......she is just down the road, I can go visit her any time I like and she will come visit me too, but I feel like a part of my soul is missing. At the moment Im sitting here waiting for her to come give me a kiss and a hug goodnight because my mind cant take in that she is sleeping in a different house to me now......I dont know how either I or she would manage if she was in an entirely different country to me.
Congratulations on you’re golden button! I’ve been watching you for over a year! My kids and I have enjoyed watching you and also making your dishes at home! ❤️
I was so excited when I saw you uploaded! We're all happy to have you back showing us delicious bentos. I'm glad you all had such a nice trip to Japan, and thanks so much for vlogging some of it and giving us viewers a taste of your home. The grocery store was really interesting to see. I would've gotten the whale plate just like your daughter. :)
My new comfort channel 🤍 I'm a student who studied Japanese in school hoping to do my further studies in Japan. But COVID and economic crisis happened in my country and sadly I had to stick to a local university. This channel keeps me in high hopes for my love for bentos. I had never heard of fiddleheads before. Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new. The vlog at the end made my heart sing.
And I was thinking "haven't seen any new uploads from Imamu recently..." and then BAM! Great video as always!
It’s the appreciation of the food by your family that just warms my heart ❤
Just found you yesterday and subbed today! Your food always looks amazing and your family is always fun to see! Your daughter is a delight, I'm sure she'll grow to be a great cook like you!
The Japan vlog at the end was so nice, thank you for sharing your vacation with us.
You just know you missed Imamu when you watch her previous videos at least once a week🥹
Also, the Azerbaijani cuisine’s channel has also been my recommendation since the last time Imamu posted🥰🥰
19:18 The way you plate the pasta in little bite-sized nests reminds me of my mom cutting my sandwiches into quarters when I was in elementary school here in America. Love makes itself most apparent in small gestures like this.
We’ve missed you so much!! So happy that you’re back😁😁
aaaaahhh I love the little one's style of speaking! Its always an extra mood booster when Im watching your videos. Shes so adorable, and her cute blue bento box suits her perfectly ✨👌
Yay for Imamu-san's return!
Also my mom have that exact model of the zebra lunch box, it's super nice to use :D
The humor in the "narration" is just as precious as the dishes
YOUR BACK OMG!!!!
Hey Imamu! I was worried about you, hope you and family are doing well! Good video as always 👍
We have fiddleheads here in Alaska. They taste fantastic sauteed in butter with garlic and mushrooms. Then you can fill a trout with it and roast in a campfire while its wrapped in foil.
I love how the sweet potato truck is basically the Japanese equivalent of an ice cream truck haha
There’s something comforting about this channel, and watching you cook delicious looking food. It brings back memories of watching my mother cook for me and my sister.
Let’s survive another week together!
I wasn't expecting the vlog part... My hearth was pounding with excitement and nostalgia. I still live in my hometown and I've never travelled, but I imagine myself living in a foreign country in the future, and somehow I felt the same emotions
Where do we donate to the "Get Imamu a 4K video camera" fund?
that curry rice croquette is genius!! I can't wait to make that with leftover curry next time. this woman deserves a Michelin star
i love how you teach your daughter perseverance, she doesn't seem to get upset if she makes a mistake! she just giggles and tries again and thats important!
Imamu Room is the only youtube channel that i have notifications on cause y’all know I can’t miss an episode
This was so beautiful, I loved seeing your memories from your family trip back to Japan ❤️ so sweet that your daughter got to see your mom and hometowns, very special and hopefully the first trip of many!
Thank you for sharing your trip with us Imamu.
My new comfort channel 🤍
I'm a student who studied Japanese in school hoping to do my further studies in Japan. But COVID and economic crisis happened in my country and sadly I had to stick to a local university. This channel keeps me in high hopes for my love for bentos. Love how simple they are yet awesome presentation and taste 🤍
All the love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
とても美味しいですね。ありがとうございました 💗
お弁当が大好き ❤️
The fact she used the big pan for frying stuff and small pan to cooked the noodle is amazing. Gotta love how your brain works at dawn, because sometimes I did that too.
Wow, so many wooden utensils 😄 thanks for sharing, glad you're back home safe
Loved your adventure back home to Japan! Your family must have been so happy for your daughter’s first visit ☺️
I really missed you and your family content. So glad you’re back. Congratulations on your Gold Button award.
