I agree. But I didn’t like how Henry made it sound like all you have to do to look like him is eat a Metrx bar, a can of tuna and some soup. When meanwhile, I’m sure he knows that’s not the case. For Henry NOW, that works. Because he is maintaining. But I. Order to achieve that level of muscle mass, I’m sure he had to eat much more and try a little harder with his workouts.

@@SuperFred001 I'd have to disagree with you there, when im cutting i eat around 2600 calories a day, and yeah, that would probably become maintenance for me if i did it long enough, but in order to gain most people need much more than that. especiaally howard, hes like 6'4". Like I said Henry may eat like that NOW, but if you tell beginners who are trying to gain mass to eat what he just said, they can do all they want in the gym, all they'll get is more toned

This is why Howard is one the greatest interviewers ever. He could tell Henry came in expecting to get a hard time and Howard got him to relax and open up. These 2 guys are my heroes. The world has never rly understood Nietzschean people like Henry. Their core beliefs and actions are just too "radical" (or as I call it, genuine) for the vast majority of humanity. Henry had to go thru a transformation (i.e. life) to become what he is today. And he himself will surely tell you the transformation process never ends, you never stop learning. I'm just slowly getting into Henry because of Tool. I've been watching interviews and I know I can't expect to understand everyone, I don't know him personally, after all. But he's definitely interesting. He's in such a good mood here compared to other interviews where he was already standoffish or something. I get why Maynard likes him. They have a lot in common, their personalities are similar in many ways.

Henry Rollins is so hard-core cool. Listened to his music all of the time. Worked at a bar where we played it every morning at 8am when the place opened for the 3rd shifters across the street.
His music is deep.but I think that is everyone actually listened to it they would get it. Dont like to think too much it keeps my mind on my mind. I wanna disconnect myself.Who hasn't had a moment like that??. He's brilliant. Blows my mind that he has a jar of dirt and blood from his roommates death in his house. He's so deep I think sometimes he's misunderstood.

Great interview given the context of this being peak edgy Stern, and just how incredibly well Rollins handles it. Stand up dude, he's just genuine and authentic, and so many things he says here are values and beliefs he still holds 20 years later. Gotta appreciate that kind of earnesty.

I like how at the end of the segment Henry is asked to cut a station ID and he calls them out on the "cheap" microphone they have. He expected high end microphones like Sennheiser for the show. Unfortunately paying Howard upwards of half a billion dollars leaves no money for trivial things like good microphones for a radio station.
