Polar bear eating lettuce at San Diego Zoo

The polar bears have a lighter diet than the wild due to the weather in San Diego as they don't need as much blubber. They are at the zoo because they were orphaned in the wild and raised there. They also have air-conditioned dens and temperature-controlled pools. As research / ambassador bears, the zoo bears get to try out the latest radio location collars etc before they are deployed on wild polar bears.

They are carnivores not omnivores that polar bear isn't being taken care of at all
