Live 200 miles from KC. Went to my first Chiefs game in 1967 at old Municipal stadium. Averaged attending game a year since then. Attended games when the Chiefs were 2-12. What a ride Chiefs Kingdom!

I was a Bulls fan from the Jerry Sloan Bulls. I went through many bad teams. One day they drafted Jordan. This is the first athlete since Kobe who reminds me of Jordan, and the amazing ride it was to be a fan, and the fun I feel in watching Mahomes brings back the love of sports for me.
That is almost exactly what I said. I remember getting excited for a Bulls game because Jordan always did some move that would blow your mind and to me that is exactly how it is with Mahomes. Every game he does something amazing and you find yourself saying “ How in the heck does he do that?🤯🤯🤯. I truly see the similarities between the two because of how much they love the game and win.😎😎

I wasn't crazy about Dorsey getting fired at first but man what a home run Veach has been. Dorsey was excellent at drafting as we still have some hall of famers he selected but now I wonder how involved Veach was in those selections.
I think he was the head of the scouting team before he became the GM
And he’s still young. His first couple years were a bit of a learning experience. He was still good, but since then he’s really come up.
I can tell you I served lunch to Veach and Dorsey when Dorsey was GM. Veach was hyped about finding a way to draft Mahomes, and Dorsey was eye rolling

7 straight Division Titles (2nd most all time); Hosted 5 straight AFC Championship games (NFL Record); 3 Superbowls in 5 years (2 OT losses in the other 2 AFC Championship games); and 2 Superbowl Championships in 4 years. There's several other teams with a LOT less credentials over the decades considered 'Dynasties'... look it up. Chiefs are a Dynasty.

I learned a few things - great interview
Chiefs have the best GM,coach and QB combined in NFL.
The 2021 and 2022 drafts made by Veach allowed at least 80% of that draft in active rosters.
Defensive and cornerbacks are like rookies except 2 of them.
19 out of 21 are active .. that allowed Chiefs to be top heavy with Mahomes, Chris Jones, OBJ Brown, ..Travis Kelce and have good to great players in other positions.
Yeah, he’s been in the zone the last couple years! Especially when you consider that KC is usually drafting at or near the end of each round. I expect another good one this year as well.

What strikes me about all three of these guys-Brett Veach, Andy Reid, and Patrick Mahomes-is how down-to-earth and personable they are, like you could just chew the fat for hours with 'em over a few drinks and some BBQ. They're not only great at their jobs, they're great people too. It's not lost on me how incredibly blessed Chiefs Kingdom is to have them leading the team.

The guy will be wearing a gold jacket someday, that is for sure. It's not that often you have a head coach and GM this much in-sync. Veach was also the only person that followed Andy from Philly.
Improve the defense and get it to top 10 or better and you'll be dynasty for sure.
It's great to hear that people appreciate the franchise and the team. Mahomes, the best QB, and team leader, is seeking a legacy for himself and his teammates. Go Chiefs 💯.

Veach was our head scout but he actually began his career as Andy Reid's personal assistant. He's been with Andy since Philly and was one of the few that came over with him.
Brett Veach has had everything to do with picking all of the players we've drafted since 2013, including Patrick Mahomes. Brett has been pushing Mahomes onto Andy since 2015 and it's for these reasons that he went from fetching Andy's coffee to being his eventual boss, it's an amazing story that deserves more recognition. Brett Veach earned his GM position by drafting players like Tyreek Hill, Chris Jones, etc. But he finally got it after drafting Patrick Mahomes 🐐

Acquiring Toney was also a genius move. Veach knows talent when he sees it. The offensive line guys were also very talented with no sacks against the best D-Line in the league. Veach is probably the best GM in the NFL.

The LSU game was when I new he was going to be a QB,cause LSU defense was full of NFL players and Patrick had no oline and patrick made that competitive.

8:22 Mahomes put in extra time (that he didn't have to) to coach up the WRs that were not involved in Special Teams to give his own perspective about the plays in the playbook. How many NFL starting QBs are going to sacrifice their own personal time to make the team better?

Veach said baseball player learning to play football at the Qb position, is super valuable if they have the arm talent.
Those are the QBs i would want. Because baseball players have great improvisation skills that you cant really coach in football. And brining that to the qb position lets them have a "any means nessasary" mindset of getting the ball to the spot you need it.
I think you maybe onto something, pretty sure Russell Wilson was a baseball player, Elway famously, so was Kyler Murray and even Tommy Brady was a catcher, Brady obviously was a bit different type but I think there is something to that, the focus and precision needed to hit a 90mph fastball probably lends some extra skills to being an NFL QB.

I love the GM but it was Matt Nagy who helped get Patrick Mahomes in that building. Andy Reid and the rest of the staff wasn't fully sold on the guy. Nagy wanted Mahomes so bad that he gave him a cheat sheet with the plays and answers Andy Reid was going to ask him.
I know this is an old video but it comes down to the point of that's when you do is human being to come together and you make things work you can't be AI robots like they were New England you may have the results of Super bowls and nobody ever once said anything about deflategate and spy gating all these kind of things that that team was doing to get the upper hand and especially controversial calls by the referees in my opinion this team is organic and I hope they win many more Super bowls to the point we were sick and tired of seeing them win Super and lastly when they're talking about with Patrick Mahomes did during the offseason everybody kisses but of Aaron Rodgers and he is not that person he never showed up early to work with his receivers he just blame them for not being up the speed...
