Saw Bad performed live early on in "TUF" tour at Apollo Stadium, Adelaide on the Oz leg of the tour. Wow - were they amazing & the atmosphere was simply electric. It was the night U2 famously played "Gloria" in-full twice.
I loved U2 before watch them performing this song at LIVE AID, but after that moment I fell in love forever. They are my favourite band, and this is my favourite live song.

I don't even bother to listen to any other version of Bad, but this one. I play it so much, cause it's one of the best live recordings, ever. I love Bono's monologue.

The Edge is the guitarist that gets the most out of his guitar while playing the least..It's amazing the amount of emotion he captures with just a few notes .... This song and A Sort of Homecoming are my favorite U2 songs and of course The Unforgettable Fire is my favorite U2 Album ...I got nothin else to say ! 👽

Liam Silcock - if "Pride" is their best single then "Bad" is their best ever album track. Remember staying up all night to watch their Live Aid performance - witnessed that performance of "Bad" - & the rest is history. Only "All I Want Is You" comes close to the emotions of "Bad". Amazing lyrics - amazing music - amazing song.

This song reminds me of few people in my life that were victims of depression which eventually made them took their life....it makes me sad and helpless......helpless that I wasn't able to help them in their moments desperation and darkness...

Caught this tour in Philadelphia just b4 this show or after a day or so. They had Bruce join him then to I believe Perform Stand by me, Bono had a broken wrist from falling off a stage during a show, these guys never let ya down especially in these snowy filled years. Those from the 80's would understand how snowy those days were,,,, Rock on

There's always been a respect between U2 and Bruce Springsteen. Long may it continue. Oh, it means nothing to other people I know, but this is one of my favourite U2 songs, and it always sounds better live.
I saw Springsteen & the E Street Band in '78, and U2 this year (Sept. 10th in Indianapolis). The two best shows I've ever seen.
I remember heating a conversation 30 years ago when comptemplating how long will they go on. Larry Mullins asked Bono 20 yrs from now are we gonna be able to go on stage like Springsteen and give it everything we got for hours in a doubting tone.
Decades later its a resounding yes. No one incorporates other artists songs into the endings of their own like Bono. From the 1st time I saw, PLEASE TO MEET YOU, on the ending of Bad.

Oh God i feel it. So amazing. i love when Bono ad-libs. They are so real through and through. You feel the energy and passion. Most unique band ever i'm positive. Definitely my favorite of all time. i only wish i could see this. i love U2.

The way they play off one another is otherworldly.
I love it when U2 weaves other songs into their own. I'm not a big Stones fan, but this was great nonetheless. One time much later, Bono, dressed as Mephisto the Devil, sang Help! by the Beatles with no musical accompaniment. That was chilling.

I have been a massive fan since the early 80s. I also play guitar and this song is my favorite. Its a bitch to get right but when you do you realize the talent of that man the Edge.
What a performance! Beautiful song, love this rare long live version, and I love it when Bono includes snippets of other songs in their own during their live performances.

This may be the greatest version of this fantastic song. Makes me think of lots of things and lots of people past and present. I always liked U2 and saw them in concert several times and wondered why Bono didn't always sing the songs like the studio version. Then I realized the brilliance of Bobo and the entire group and appreciated them even more.

I was there. It was a stunning show. I remember thinking during this song "this was what it must have been like to see the Stones in '69." Passion and power.

I was in Dublin 2009 to see the 360 show. I went to a skate shop (called Skate City Temple Bar) to find out where to skate. I asked the older guys with short buzzed grey hair if they skated, and they they said they did, I instantly had had much respect. Dude asked me why I was in Dublin, I told him I was there too see my favorite band . He asked me if I knew my history ? I thought so? "Do you know who Googie is?......well then you don't know your history. He is my younger brother, the one on the cover of the Boy & War album, and now takes photos of the band."
I busted out my guitar and played this song, Andy Rowen sang along.

Awesome story man! Skateboarding was my passion for many years up until the point where my spine locked up mid air while doing a kick flip off a loading dock then finding out in the emergency room I had to quit skateboarding cold turkey due to a ruptured disc in my spine, but before undergoing spinal fusion to fix it a year later I sat home that summer of '91 in a back brace, found this movie Rattle and Hum on VHS laying around, popped it in, and that was all she wrote as I knew what my next primary hobby would be after watching Edge slowly lean towards his vox ac30s catching that soaring feedback during BulletTheBlueSky. It was during this time they were in the finishing stages of Achtung Baby and the premiere of 'TheFly' video would follow just a few months later. As a skater I was influenced by Ray Barbee for the same reason as Edge influenced me as a guitarist.. just that unique laid back style and approach.

Nice story, but it doesn't ring true. Peter Rowan is on the covers of War and Boy. He was a skateboard champion in his teens and he was also in a movie called The Snapper. He now works as a photographer. He has two older brothers, Clive, the eldest, and Derek, better known as Guggi, who was in the Virgin Prunes with Gavin Friday and Dik Evans. Guggi is now an artist and is one of Bono's best friends, along with Gavin Friday. Dik Evan's younger brother is Dave, better known as The Edge.
I guess I got brothers names mixed up. The Boy cover (Peter Rowen) mixed up with the brother Derek. oops thanks for clarifying. Any way I met Andy Rowen at skate city where he worked in Dublin....

First time I saw U2 live was at the former Apollo Stadium, Adelaide, South Australia on thir first tour of Australia in mid 80s. It was like a religious experience - it was incredible. To cut a long story short, the band played Gloria twice. They finished with tbe second (full) Gloria as Bono thought his voice was a bit horse for the first rendition. Band was back for the Love Comes toTown World post Rattle & Hum - & they were again awesome. Back then,the greatest band in the world. Bad has always been a fave. & I saw it live on the tv in that famous Live Aid performance

@@BadBrian48 actually, they're the longest band to continually stay together (not break up and then reform later) with all the original bands members (compared to the Stones who have had member leave for other projects).

Simply amazing. I was at the show the night before this one. I've been following this particular band and of course all their other endeavors and I can't wait till I get to see them once again this upcoming Summer. Bono has been going thru some tough times but these boys are raw. I just love the quality of their performances. They have truly grown for the best in all areas as a band and as individuals.
