@MoiDawg, I believe the M14 has a really high recoil. since it's a cold war weapon, and high caliber. so the recoil in game. is not bad. ( like come on, what about the Turkish faction?) the M14 is almost half the mass of the BAR means the felt recoil is substantially higher.
If you look at PMCs like Executive Outcome, Unit 666, and the likes those have access to helicopters from Hueys to Hinds. As well as IFV/APC vehicles besides armoured up SUV. Heavy weapons are also common especially when you have contact with a range of arms dealers. So TOWs, HMG, AGL and the likes.
gives us the little birds with miniguns and rocket pods plss this would give the faction a huge boost in firepower since they dont have any tanks IFV etc.
I'm going to lean heavily on H&K here. But with the first guns shown I'm thinking Western or South African/ Rhodesian (think Danny Archer in Blood Diamond) PMCs. All the SMGs in game have too much recoil. Especially that MP5. The MP5 also is fine with the PMC faction, common with PSD's. Even today. The M14 would make more sense as a cut down 16 or 18 M1A semi only with a scout mounted 1x red dot or holographic. These found there way into the early GWOT. Or as a M-14 with an ACOG and fat cheek riser. Or as a DMR, either M21 or M25 with a leupold fixed 10x. Another common early GWOT rifle. If they want a real sniper PSG1 or Accuracy International bolt gun. For 5.56 rifles. VEKTOR R4 (South African Galil), AR-15 (semi-only) with the old school arms SIR rail and red dot (Blackwater rifle) and a fixed stock AR-15 18-20" barrel with a scope as another DMR (travis haley's blackwater rifle.) G36C or K always fit the PMC look. HK69 would be a cooler and more unique choice for a grenade launcher. LMG: MG4 would be sweet, if they're being boring or unimaginative a M249 fixed stock or Mimini would be ok. GPMG: HK21 would be a sweet pick here. If not you can go any other way with a machine for PMCs. RPD/PKP (battlefield pickup, African mercs, ex com-bloc arms deal) or M240/FN Mag (more NATO aligned) Pistols have to much sway in the sights, it takes two business days to line up the irons. But Glocks or preferably H&K USPs For HAT/LAT, everyone can get their hands on RPGs Engineer kit: C4 and claymore. For vehicles, regular Toyota Land Cruiser, and pick a 4 wheeled armored vehicle like the VAB or M1117. Armed with 20mm or 50 cal and 40mm GMG. Helo has to be the MD-500 and Hip.
Western PMCs, who's familiar with AR-type weapons, operating in the Middle East, where the most commonly found weapons are AKs of some sort, most likely chambered in 7.62x39 for me, it'd make more sense for this faction to have an AR-15 chambered in 7.62x39, or even one that takes AK mags
@@thejestor9378 how does it make sense? now it would make sense if the PMC's got various AK's and the BW-15 like blackwater did during iraq. @@vac1376The MP5 is most likely gonna show up in variations, as there are multiple variations of the mp5 that exist, the regular one isn’t even considered a CQB weapon in real life, that’s the role of the MP5K and it’s sub-variants. The Mp5 is also a well tested and proven platform that is still produced and used the world over. I don’t expect it to be the main go to weapon of all the roles, but I suspect we will find a variant of it in each role as part of a loadout, including the vehicle/aircraft crew variant of the Mp5K. I suspect we will get more cold war era weapons for them as well as most of those would be available to them on the open market as opposed to more modern weapons that are still sold primarily on the weapons market to countries rather than private companies. I would be expect some AR variant in addition to m14 variants. As this seems to be mostly western based pmc, I am doubtful about ak’s or other eastern block weapons showing up.
No fucking way you said that the regular mp5 is not cqb, and yes the weapons don't make sence, they are completly outdated in modern combat, including the mp5
@@pipebomblover The Mp5k is the literal designated CQB variant of the Mp5, the Mp5 is actually marketed for short range engagements where as the mp5k is marketed for engagements in enclosed environments, with the mp5k-pdw variant being designed for usage by aircraft and vehicle crews to defend against hijackers. Also most guns that would be better than it aren’t gonna be available to PMC’s. If you bring up SBR’d guns, know that those are not infact better, as most of those will be modded civilian market guns which will have semi-auto fire only, and while yes using a larger caliber, would also have more recoil, require registration if you ever plan to be in the USA, and is again, civilian variant and thusly not actually designed for a combat environment.
They keep saying the faction won't have access to conventional heavy weapons but will be able to stand against any existing faction, it's going to be interesting to see how they offset ZDZ's and T-72's, especially when the only weapons they're showcasing appear pretty outdated
I'd like something like PMC vs MEA or China. Neither faction is limited to generic AK's and M4's, and it would be a nice twist where the Western faction is the irregular/"guerrilla" style one. Another twist is PMC would be the underdog/irregular force, but also have fancier guns then the standard army, just less heavy weapons. Give them very good cutting edge pistols, smg's, pdw's, ar's, and dmr's. Idk how about a Sig MCX, HK417, MP5/MP7, FNX45 pistols with kickass optics etc.. but limited or no MG's, and maybe limit them to just LAT's, no HATS, APC's but no full on tanks, and little bird transport aircraft only. Just a cool possibility of a "high tech insurgent" style hybrid faction that the PMC could bring.

8:34 look, if youve ever shot something even similar to an m14, that amount of recoil is par for the course. people who play games are "trained" to believe that everyone is an action hero that can shoot multiple rounds into the same exact position, but that's just not the case. imo the ICO is by far the most realistic shooting experience youll get in a video game and people who say otherwise just dont appreciate how difficult it is to shoot IRL at combat pace
People can use "realism" to argue for anything and it basically pointless to use it in "ICO BAD!" arguments. Yeah, recoil for most weapons and weapon sway is exagerated in Squad compared to real life. But, in real life you don't automatically get you sight perfectly aligned with the center of your screen, instead target aquisition and maintaining correct sight picture is a skill to be honed. Going on the flank solo and mowing down full squads on full-auto in a few seconds is not exactly something that happens a lot in real life. It is practically impossible to stop people from flanking solo due to map sizes, but the ICO did a fantastic job at reducing their effectiveness by lowering individual combat prowess. Having very harsh suppression effects is also amazing, because now when you shoot at someone they actually take cover most of the time as if they cared about their life.
I seriously can't understand how people can complain about recoil. To me it looks too little, almost Battlefield arcade levels of recoil and here you are saying too much recoil.
My prediction for the next faction after this is either the indian army(to rival the PLA where the maps will take place in the Himalayas) or an alliance of american countries similar to the MEA. The MEA was inspired by the MEC from BF so im guessing they'll do something similar with the Federation of the Americas from ghost (to rival the us army and it would be really fun for the battles to take place in a tropical forest)

PMCs can get access to pretty much anything, as long as it’s available to sell. They can buy weapons from anybody willing to sell to law enforcement or military. I don’t know why they would use M14s when they could get G3s or FALs that are much better performing rifles, but who knows? Both Taiwan and Lithuania were given M14 rifles as surplus, so they could’ve gotten the rifles from
one of those nations.
The M14 could also fit for a western backed militia to clash against the insurgents
I am not a soldier and have never recieved formal training, HOWEVER I used to live near the Machine gun range in Windham Maine and have shot both a m1 garand rechamebered in 308 and a AR platform 9mm smg. In my (unprofessional) experience the M14 recoil seems right but the MP5 does not. Maybe give the MP5 some climb but it definetly shouldn't jump around like that.

To balance things out with teams like INS, a red-dotted M14 is IRL-not-so but canonically Okay, pairing it with IMF style ARs/FALs and having MP5s+nades as a raider class, this could be fun.
maybe even with M95s or HEDP 40mm that can shoot through pseudo armors vics.
An inf-optically-OPed but vehicle-wise-UPed faction goes head to head with IMF and INS, that sound interesting on paper.
PMCs? Man, lets get the Bundeswehr in there already…
It would be such a perfectly fitting faction for Squad.

Even when both factions get added that won't happen since the game doesn't let you do blue vs blue.

@@evangelosvasiliades1204 There was the old canadians vs americans layer. But I see what you're saying. I hope that the voting system returns nato vs nato factions. Also we sort of see this with turkish as they play both independent and blufor. We'll see.
i rather they make israel first
I would have preferred like most people to simply get the likes of France or Japan instead. But gameplay wise it seems like they intend for something really special with these guys, and that certainly has my attention.
Indeed they mentioned last update about looking into new commander assets for specific units and now we are going to get a faction that wont have artillery or airstrikes, so im incredibly curious what they have in mind instead.
or maybe israel would be great. Tbh i want squad to have a lot of factions, include Iran and other middle east as well, then japan and south Korea. maybe a coalition for southeast Asia as well.

So, where is the G36C?
Hope we see M113 APCs or a M60 MBT, or other ex cold war equipment
I realize it's for gameplay, but the rear sights on both of those are wrong. 🙃
I hope they add the MD-500/MH-6 Littlebird for this faction. Could see an AH-6 later down the line.
I wouldn't be surprised if they add a Cartel as a faction
There wouldn’t be much difference between them and the insurgents though
Cartels would be way more armed tbh@@Destroy3612
50 cal Barrets, FN 5.7, 38 Super, AK’s, Scar for SL’s, M240’s, Monstro Tanks from F350 frames, American Military RPG’s, Glocks….you name it.
I was thinking the same exact thing cartel definitely would make sense. Armored trucks and cars. That could then lead into Mexican marines or Columbian army
cartels would be better equipped than the pmcs
Here’s a good question. Will this PMC faction be a European company or US company cuz that means will be able to have more weapon systems in the game
@MoiDawg, I believe the M14 has a really high recoil. since it's a cold war weapon, and high caliber. so the recoil in game. is not bad. ( like come on, what about the Turkish faction?)
the M14 is almost half the mass of the BAR means the felt recoil is substantially higher.
what about the turkish faction
If you look at PMCs like Executive Outcome, Unit 666, and the likes those have access to helicopters from Hueys to Hinds. As well as IFV/APC vehicles besides armoured up SUV. Heavy weapons are also common especially when you have contact with a range of arms dealers. So TOWs, HMG, AGL and the likes.
they did mp5 dirty, it should be really good on recoil with its roller delayed system
i cant wait to play this, excited
That M14 sound is tasty!
We need more air vehicles like a viper or little bird...
gives us the little birds with miniguns and rocket pods plss this would give the faction a huge boost in firepower since they dont have any tanks IFV etc.
RPD/PKP (battlefield pickup, African mercs, ex com-bloc arms deal) or M240/FN Mag (more NATO aligned)
Pistols have to much sway in the sights, it takes two business days to line up the irons. But Glocks or preferably H&K USPs
For HAT/LAT, everyone can get their hands on RPGs
Engineer kit: C4 and claymore.
For vehicles, regular Toyota Land Cruiser, and pick a 4 wheeled armored vehicle like the VAB or M1117. Armed with 20mm or 50 cal and 40mm GMG.
Helo has to be the MD-500 and Hip.
What a freaking realistic recoil, as if they never fired a gun before.
Also just now realizing we don't have a 240bravo in the game, not sure how much it fits the pmc setting but it doesn't seem too far out to me
There’s a 240 for the MMG kit for the US factions
I think M14 is not a PMC weapon it maybe a Pacific irregular faction
I wonder if the OPFOR version of PMC is going to be Mercenaries like Wagner.
Recoil on a full auto m14 is brutal irl
Western PMCs, who's familiar with AR-type weapons, operating in the Middle East, where the most commonly found weapons are AKs of some sort, most likely chambered in 7.62x39
for me, it'd make more sense for this faction to have an AR-15 chambered in 7.62x39, or even one that takes AK mags
They use AKs as well, in tandem with their ARs.
Little birds with guns for the love of God
Always happy for some HKslap
Mp5s dont make any sense, but it would be cool to see little birds and hopefully fast ropes for the love of god?
Mp5’s make alot of sense.. I don’t know where so many of you get the idea it doesn’t.
@@thejestor9378 how does it make sense? now it would make sense if the PMC's got various AK's and the BW-15 like blackwater did during iraq. They might've been seen with MP5s every now and then but using it for regular combat makes no sense. now if the MP5 is a certain option class sure, but a main gun ah hell nah.
I dont care what we get, as long as we get (1 - An MD-500 or MH-6 Little Bird) and (2 - an M4A1 with a A.R.M.S SIR Handguard)
They keep saying the faction won't have access to conventional heavy weapons but will be able to stand against any existing faction, it's going to be interesting to see how they offset ZDZ's and T-72's, especially when the only weapons they're showcasing appear pretty outdated
Mini gun locked to 1 per team would be a fun addition to the game.
i’m 17 and can control recoil on a full auto mp5 better than a trained merc? nah bro fix that
most times the SUV on the top gunners hatch carries a M134 mini gun that is stowed inside until it needs to be deployed
The recoil looks insane on the MP5, no way that's final.
Maybe lets put in india as a counter vs China. And Israel vs MEA
It would be so cool if this update included a sort of VIP protection mode

pleasse hope we get some cool scopes and attachments since pmc's would have freedom on how they set their gun up an

look, if youve ever shot something even similar to an m14, that amount of recoil is par for the course. people who play games are "trained" to believe that everyone is an action hero that can shoot multiple rounds into the same exact position, but that's just not the case. imo the ICO is by far the most realistic shooting experience youll get in a video game and people who say otherwise just dont appreciate how difficult it is to shoot IRL at combat pace
Jesus that SMG recoil is bonkers
I seriously can't understand how people can complain about recoil. To me it looks too little, almost Battlefield arcade levels of recoil and here you are saying too much recoil.
dude its a 9mm mp5 that thing shouldn t jump around like that
Happy birthday to your nephew!
