Damn I feel like the only person that ever made him feel free was Padmé. She was the first person to comfort him after his mother and in attack of the clones the only time he showed happiness or freedom was with her. That’s why he needed her so bad because she freed him and he’d be a slave forever without her.
Sarah Guinan Thank you! I find this yours fascinating idea that deserves a lot more thought and exploration. I’m inclined to agree. Perhaps his relationship with Padmé is the only one uncluttered by his mixed feelings toward the Jedi-who took him away from his mother and among whom he’s never completely belonged. In other words, theirs is the only relationship he’s freely chosen. Ironically, even in a marriage constrained by secrecy and their equally demanding duties, he probably had more room to be himself.
I wish we had more material that really explored how well suited for each other they actually were, even when you put aside the power of bonding during the traumatic events of “Phantom Menace.”
Sarah Guinan Padme and Anakin new each other when they were still young. She new his past understood what he was going through. It’s no wonder they fell in big love when reunited maybe 7 years later. He matured into a handsome hunk and she further blossomed into woman hood! What a reunion!! That’s why a first they were uncomfortable and uncomfortable dialogue! Mere C I. I love your analysis!!! Yes all true! I believe what we got from the films were never enough to truly understand the fullness of their attraction and relationship! The movie intended for general audience had to tone down the sexual and physical attraction, making it more mild. In the bedroom scene they were turned away from each other and she seemed fully clothed and he was bare chested! In today’s films , they would be embraced and bodies more revealing! There would be more scenes of caressing and passion and even hum touching and caressing her growing tummy! All this would have raised their on screen chemistry up 100 percent but I believe they were directed to keep it light! Cuz of the general audience rating! But if they were allowed more

Sarah Guinan wow 10 plus years later and we are still thinking and imagining about Anakin and Padme! That’s says something! It left us wanting more of them. This story , themes, and first class outstanding music still lives on in my heart! That’s why many fans were so unsatisfied with 8 and 9. It did connect to the over arching story of Anakin, Padme , Luke and Leia The Skywalker FAmily! I needed more reconnection to them the Family! That’s why Rey will take the name Skywalker and continue their legacy with new characters!

Oh for sure, and did you hear him say "luke's last name" as if there wasn't an original skywalker that came before him, as if anakin wasn't the one that brought true meaning to the name, as if it anakin wasn't the one that created a powerful legacy for the name. Like it's not "luke's last name" it's anakin's bro. I kinda hate how people consider luke to be more important in this franchise than anakin. There is no Star Wars without Anakin Skywalker :)

Honestly one of my favorite things is hearing SW Theory talk about Anakin. You can tell how passionate of a fan he is of the character and I respect that, Anakin gets so much sh*t from fans a lot of the time that it's nice to hear someone who genuinely loves the character
MattMovies611 Anakin was always my favourite character and I identify with him more than Luke, it does seem like we’re in the minority of the fan base since most people lean towards Obi-Wan Kenobi which is perfectly understandable. But it’s nice to see the shift and see people grow more fond of Anakin’s character as they get older. Prequels and Clone Wars as well as Comics did a lot of justice to the overall character. Made Darth Vader real.

Killmonger 26 Hayden was perfect as Anakin I can’t imagine anyone else playing him and also I find myself in the same exact situation being 20 as well and growing up on the prequels era, I feel like as years went and go by I see deeper and hidden details and intentions when it comes those films hence my enjoyment grows more whilst watching them, finally understanding things that I may not have understood back then, especially Anakin’s fall and the reasons behind it does make you feel pity for him. I always loved the idea of tragic hero characters so he is without the doubt my favourite fictional character ever written.

I always thought Anakin's ability to see into the future through his dreams wasn't actually an ability. I thought it was Palpatine projecting these destructive thoughts in Anakin's mind in order to further sway him to the dark side.

I always wanted Anakin’s look from Episode 3. I really wanted that “Jedi mullet” as Ewan called it and for some reason, I wanted that scar.
I think what people forget is that he was still the chosen one, even once he turned to the dark side. Most “chosen ones” have a line in their prophecy about how they will save OR destroy. Just because Anakin chose the wrong path doesn’t mean he stopped being the chosen one, it just means he’s like all those fan-fictions about what if so-and-so was evil. Even as Darth Vader he was still technically the chosen one, even though I like to think of Vader and Anakin as too different people.

If the jedi were against using it, why did they have dedicated healers? Why did they try to save others? And also, what has anakin going to the dark side got to do with anything?
Why would it be lost to history? The jedi archives were enormous, and over the thousands of years, youd think a single jedi would have thought "hey could we use the force to heal people? Let's try it, and if we cant, let's look at the lore"

I personally really like the prequels because of the story with Anakin and his relationships with obi wan, padme, jedi council, etc. but I honestly can never watch them because I find the story so gut wrenching and devastating. 2:45 He didn’t lose his original lightsaber in the factory on Geonosis, because he clearly states “not again, obi-wan’s gonna kill me”, which indicates that he has broken a lightsaber prior to the one he broke in the factory.
He dropped it when chasing the changeling on Coruscant. When he says "Not again Obi-Wan's gonna kill me." he means because he lost it once already and had the "This weapon is your life." lecture.

And didn’t even take responsibility when Anakin proved them wrong. And then they stupidly don’t give him the rank of master even tho he proved he’s a better jedi than them all.

Palpatine treated Anakin like a person, only other person to do that was Qui gon. They didn't feel the need to be philosophical to train him and that's why they connected so much. Palpatine betrayed him when he became his master and forced him into the Sith way, had Palpatine maintained his honestly and mindfulness with Anakin, no way he would have so easy to Return a Jedi...just my two cents
Actually, I’m pretty sure Anakin knew how to use Force Heal, to some extent at least, or else he wouldn’t have been able to bring Ahsoka back to life with the aid of the Daughter on Mortis. Either that, or he was simply acting like a conduit, transferring the Daughter’s life essence to Ahsoka’s body and resurrecting her that way instead. I’m assuming that the latter is much more likely.
And if I recall correctly, Obi-Wan knew how to use Force Heal as well, which we see him do in ANH when he puts his hand on Luke’s forehead after he’s been injured by the Tuskens. I could be wrong tho and if so, I honestly wouldn’t be that surprised. Neither Obi-Wan nor Anakin were very dedicated healers, which makes sense since they chose to devote themselves to the path of the Jedi Gaurdian, a philosophy that was much more combat-oriented than that of the Consular class, which focused on diplomacy and more practical aspects of the Force rather than pure aggression.
He has that scar like Harry Potter, also called the chosen one.
Curious2Dream now that you mention it, there are some similarities between Anakin and Harry. Both were destined to defeat the greatest threats in their respective universes. Both can be occasionally reckless and hot headed, but they desire to do what’s necessary to ensure the safety of those they care about
