- Finishing up on the bulk of the engine build, still a lot of work ahead to finish it off and install it but nice to make some headway. Little by little its taking shape!
How is the OM606 treating ya? I have a 300GD that I swapped to the 605A and 5 speed. kind of wishing I had gone with the 606 for the added HP, but the 605 is a world better than the stock 917. I'm about to send mine off to have some significant suspension and steering upgrades.
Not a.bad idea to confirm the dot alignment on cam sprocket with the dots further down the shafts before pinning / welding the sprocket.

You would really only get that cam to shift under high loads. This car was completely stock so the cam hadn’t seen the HP levels I’m going to throw at it. DPUK has a video on it and what to look for
What power level are you going for? If you are going higher than stock levels you should consider stiffer valves springs.
I’m planning on a 6mm pump so 300 hp give or take. You think that will need stiffer springs?
