  • Resetting the timing on my OM606 after setting it incorrectly the first time.

    Mate I rebuilt my 606 and also set it 3.23 mm down and at 20 degree . But I found that if you set the piston bang at tdc and pulley on zero like you did the first time . like we normally would .I found that if I then turn engine to 20 degrees the piston would be at 3.23 on down stroke . So I really struggled to see a difference in doing it either way

      @@katiehinds1648 yes, so if you go off TDC on the dial gauge it’s off by 1mm up from TDC on the pulley itself. The tricky bit is because the crank isn’t completely in line with the center of the rest of the block. @dieselpumpuk has a bunch of great videos explaining that in detail
