      just snip the black negative wire on the back of your radio and find a new good ground best is just to the negative of the battery with a 10a fuse . this is bad for the rca plugs. or snip yellow and black and hook them to the + - of the amp .

    Dude, u saved the day! My bf spent countless hours, combing thru his newly installed system, regrounding EVERYTHING, and during a desperate youtube search, found ur video. He didnt think there was a chance in hell it would work, but he was out of ideas, and tried it. Virtually all of his distortion was GONE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Gotta love hillbilly engineering!! If you guys are still having problems trying this disconnect the black ground wire on your aftermarket harness that connects to your aftermarket radio. Crimp a ring terminal on it and bolt it down to a bare piece of metal in the dash using an existing screw if able

    Man that's old school right there. I did that in the 90s. You can also do it at the Amp. It's easier to get to than pulling out the radio. Good job!

    • @Barnzy213
      @Barnzy213 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi man, when you say you can do that at the amp, do you mean wrap rca cable at the amp and attach to a ground?
      Because my amp is already grounded toshassy via the ground terminal, but assuming i need to gorund the rca on the amp also? Or will i just need to do the head unit?

    - Three rules to follow when installing a Car Audio System -
    #1 - Run your power wire on one side of your car & run your Subwoofer Amplifier's RCA Cable on the other side.
    #2 - Make sure you have a clean & tight ground connection on the frame of your vehicle.
    #3 - Make sure to ground your head-unit to the metal dash mounting bracket it is being mounted to with an extra wire, two small ring terminals, & two correct thread screws for the screw holes you choose to use on the back side of the head-units metal chassis.
    Do all these steps & you will not have any alternator wine & audio present threw your speakers & subwoofer.

    It did work but sounds like you have a bad solder joint inside your radio for the ground on the RCA or possibly more? Considering the wiring method it would have been interesting to have seen how you grounded the radio and the rest of the system.

    Also, it could be that one of your speakers that’s touching a metal frame so check that out too that none of your speakers are touching a metal frame because , if it’s making a buzz noise and you can’t hear music not even play music as soon as you turn on the radios start buzzing just make sure that your speakers are not touching up metal frame

      Before you do anything plug your phone or iPod directly into your amplifier skipping your radio. If it's buzzing still probably a groundloop, from a terrible ground. Don't be like me as a kid and wrap my amplifier ground wire around a trunk latch. find a good point in the trunk sanded down to bare metal and bolt it down using Ring terminal. If you can't find an existing bolt then don't use fewer than 2or three self tapping screws right through the ring terminal.
