Much the same! I've had this keyboard from new for what must be getting on 20 years and I keep forgetting to disable the "part control" and "pattern control" upon turning the keyboard on, so I accidentally get to hear the first bar EVERY SINGLE TIME.
In the past Yamaha came up with a lot of nice stuff like the DJ-X. Too bad that they don't quite remember it. What about the Portasound series (including the VSS sampling keyboards)? What about the PSR-36 or the DSR-2000 synth keyboards? Can you imagine a keyboard like this doing deep house grooves and having USB connection and a TR-style drum programmer like on the RM1x and some velocity sensitive rubber drum pads? Since the Reface series they should already have the small keys at hand. And they could even make a machine with nice coloured buttons/sliders (see the YC model for example).
I finally got myself a Yamaha DJX!!!!! It's actually a funny story. My friend Josh and I were freestyling to beats on my houseparent's Yamaha DJX. (I used to stay in the dorm all week at school, Josh only stayed for special events. And I say houseparents, because they're the staff that work in the dorm.) Anyway, after Josh and I graduated, I was looking at my voice memos of us busting freestyles to beats on my houseparent's Yamaha DJX, and I was just like, I've gotta get me one of those! So I kept begging my mom into getting me one. And eventually, she found one Ebay, it was pretty cheap. So we bought it. And it came the day after New Years! And I called up Josh, and I was showed him a beat, and he knew which keyboard it was like then and there! I actually have two keyboards. The Yamaha DJX, obviously. And a Casio. I had three keyboards, but I sold one. It was the orriginal keyboard that I had ever sence I was five. But now I have two keyboards that are badass. The orriginal keyboard was a Yamaha, I just can't remember which one though. Hope that story made sense to you guys. If it didn't, I can try and rephrase it for you. Does anyone else have a story like that?
I got a minty one early this week. Great machine, could be a bit dirtier but I'm not complaining. The PSS 680 & 780 are great too but not as modern sounding as the DJX.
This is by far the best value in a keyboard of any kind if you can still find it in mint condition in the range of $90 - $150, IMHO.
Composed my first track using one of these bad boys. Such a great machine.
Das erste haben wir in Musik immer gepumpt👌
023: Garage. The Lead in was sampled in Tina Moores 'Never gonna let you go'
Fantastic drum machine!
Hahaha that intro music has never gotten to the end of the first bar in 21 years. That's the first time I've actually heard it properly lol

I swear I made classics on this joint
Damn, I loved this keyboard! Still has a great sound!
Have this keyboard from new for what must be getting on 20 years now. Still works fine with all knobs present.
Same here. Keys a bit yellowed but still works perfectly.
Nummer 1 beste 😂 früher immer im Musikunterricht
damn I wish I hadn't sold mine some go fond memories..
Su much memories

There are sounds and grooves on this thing that don't exist anywhere else in the multiverse. Smh.
I also bought this synth . sounds great.
