Another tip: coconut oil is really effective for loosening up matts. I have a cat with long fur and he matts up every summer - BIG hard matts. I rub some coconut oil on them near the skin for a couple of days and it loosens them up enough to remove them, and some just pull off brushing. I'm working on a huge matt under his chin now where the fur is the longest - like a lion mane - and it's working. Will take a couple more days. Bonus - when he licks is, he ingests it too! Always use Dr. Johns' remedies and use many. 😻 just one cat's opinion :)

    • @jeanmorell1947

Also always shave and clipped spot clean it than use iodine or choxetine 1 tsp cup of warm water wash down than dry up or blow dry apply either warm up coconut oil or fragment coconut oil almond oil let dry put ecollar on fur baby or suit. I was listening to vet at Banfield I already knew it! How about Doctors jones address how get stinky perfume off cats from vet assistant? Put cat in there sure miss Murray

@@katiehowell1058 I hope it helps for you. Be patient! - and be consistent. It takes time and ain't pretty (oily fur) but it brushes out in a few days and kitty likes the taste - even my finnicky cat who hates everything.

@@yooperlooperI’m able to be patient luckily. It took me two weeks to slowly remove several huge matts from my male cat. I would work at it a little each day until I could finally brush or cut it off. I am looking forward to trying the oil.

    • @yooperlooper
      @yooperlooper หลายเดือนก่อน

@@katiehowell1058 My cat Tuketu's matts under his chest are so big that I'm thinking of cutting some of the 'mass' off then keep massaging the oil at the base where it's pulling on his skin because what I've been doing for the last couple days has worked well, I can feel that they are loosening up but I really don't need to be putting all the oil on the blob that doesn't matter. More comfy for Tuketu also. Let me know how it works for you. Cheers!

Kitchen first aid staples in my home: turmeric , cayenne, Manuka honey and bandages ... oh- and castor oil.
If I cut myself or one of the four leggeds has a wound- turmeric or cayenne ( whichever in I grab first), a q tip, and Manuka honey. To stop the bleeding fast, sprinkle the turmeric or cayenne on the cut. Then with the q tip get honey on it and bandage. After the initial tending to the wound, when the bandage needs changing, dip the q tip in some honey, then dip into the turmeric or cayenne... allow a nice ball to form on the q tip and then Drop a few drops of caster oil on the honey spice ball and then apply to the wound. Bandage - this will heal without infection and will heal quickly- it generally leaves no scar as well. The castor oil allows the spiced honey to penetrate more deeply into the flesh.
Works on accesses in the gum line as well ( although no bandage!)
For burns: Manuka honey to the burn site and then wrap with gauze . This can be reapplied three or four times a day if needed. I used this on a third degree burn- it healed without infection and it healed quickly. No scar either .
Don't worry that the cayenne will burn or add to pain- it actually does the opposite and numbs the pain. Just be mindful to wash your hands well if using cayenne to or cause burning eyes by accidentally rubbing them!

I would skip her breakfast and then bribe her with her favourite treats while you try to do more simple things like hold her to brush her fur. You can try wrapping her like a cocoon in a towel. Just keep her feet towards the floor and stay over and behind her as to avoid getting bitten.
Over time, you can give less treats.

Thank you so much for these remedies. My labrador is 10 years old and has been having a hacking cough problem for almost 6 months now. Taken blood tests, done scans and X-rays, no problems with his organs, blood is good. Doctor said that it could be gastro-something related, prescribed Pantopet and a tonic of some kind - nothing has worked so far. :(
His diet consists of bottle gourd, carrots, turmeric, coconut oil, beef bones, organs, meat - mostly homemade food. I stopped feeding him kibble. And he's also on joint tablets for a year now.
Let me know in case there is a homeremedy for this. Going to try giving him honey for now and see if it works.

My 5 yr old dog has always had a leaking problem. I give Ellie dog cranberry chews for bladder health. It’s helped somewhat, but not all the way. If anyone has other advice, let me know. I don’t like Apple Cider Vinegar, I’m not sure it’s good for dogs especially mixed with honey.

He explained the benefits and use of each remedy, but choosing to "think" otherwise without doing ANY RESEARCH and stating your unfounded doubts in comments isn't helpful to anyone, especially your pet.

Thanks! I just want to thank you for all of the wonderful videos you have done. It helped me to have the courage to overcome my fear of making homemade food for my dog and granddog. Of course I add supplements, including a dog multivitamin, to make sure it is balanced and complete. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!🎉❤😊

Hi doc, my 7 years old pup’s kidney is getting bit affected. His BUN 30.3 n creatinine 2.4. I changed his whole diet . He eats barley bread with fresh coconut milk. Homemade yogurt for probiotics . Apple n few blue berries. He is also on herbal syrup for kidney n a on a herbal immune modulator . He is doing good. Back in action. Eating , drinking and playful. Peeing normal color urine and stool is also normal. My question is , is coconut milk good for him because he doesnt eat his food without it. Carrots, n pumpkin is also part of his diet. He doesnt eat chicken or eggs right from his puppy stage .

I won’t be able to listen in. I hope there will be a recording! I have two medical appointments for myself. My pressing question is if the hone/apple cider mix or straight honey can be used if the dog is diabetic. My dog is about 40 lbs, 13 years old, diabetic and has arthritis that causes issues with hind legs and her back legs seem to not be able to bend. I carry her up and down stairs to do her business. She can hobble around but we have to get her on all fours on a carpet or grass. She’s a boxer mix. She gets a lot of UTIs.

He does have a FREE download book and I have found a lot of answers in that. Also I have found many answers in his other videos.
For my dogs food allergies and intolerances. I have found the best thing to do is to buy the more costly foods (usually cheaper at farm stores than at a veterinarian office) or order online, and learning how to make homemade pet food. It is less costly in the long run.

PLEASE DONT give your furBaby prescription kibble. Ie; “Hllls Sclence Dlet”. Whilst it says it’s “safe” and will help prevent and treat the issues; it in fact makes them worse. Not only will it make issues worse, you’ll be told that you will need to purchase the product the rest of their life. It’s a money grab.

As a certified animal nutritionist (admittedly I once supported Hllls science diet). I’m also a retired certified veterinary technician. Now I’m; 100% FULLY holistic advocate volunteer vet tech & nutritionist.

I have a question about female dogs spraying. I found sticky keys on my keyboard this morning and looked like some spray on my computer, and also on the desk and chair. Can a 60 lb. dog spray that far up on furniture? Also, what can I do to stop this? Thanking you in advance. I really enjoy your videos. You are hope in a world that is so unfeeling toward dogs.

I had my cat on Silensia and he has a skin reaction. When I called the vet, first thing they said was it was not a side effect of Silensia.... When I brought her in and asked about alternatives they suggested treating the skin and then putting him back on it because some cats develop a resistance. I definitely felt they were more interested in selling the drug than my cats health. Disgusting to suggest putting him back on it. Time for a new vet.

You’re definitely on the right track, so keep going, and don’t hesitate to tweak things as you go. Maybe even look into adding a soothing herbal rinse or omega-3s for extra skin support. Keep us posted!
