The Deerfield peer can be really great in the summer. Last time I went there I caught many exotics, including a greater soapfish which I have never seen anywhere else, as well as some sport fish. If you go in late summer you can catch the bait fish runs. I’m not sure exactly what species they are but it tends to be a mix of goggle eyes and sardines as well as various other species. Using these as bait I have caught blue runners, snook, lesser Amber Jack, Big mutton snapper, and I have even hooked more than one tarpon off the pier. There’s also the potential to catch Spanish mackerel and king mackerel fishing off the end but I have personally not had a whole lot of success doing that. I think the coolest thing that I’ve seen fishing off the pier was either a 10+ foot hammerhead shark or a huge permit.
"Your buddy already ate my batteries last Florida trip." "If I could eat pelican I would eat pelican." Lol A Deerfield Beach local here, this is a great spot. Thanks for the video and info.
I decided to target some bowfin at our local creek and while waiting I’m playing Pokémon go. I get a bite about 10 minutes later and it’s a bowfin in spawning colors! Pokémon go basically gave me the shiny bowfin luckkk
A 41 year old south Florida local here and I've never heard anyone call seaweed Sargassum, but I love it. As well as all the other latin terminology. 🌅😊👍🐡🐟🐠
It's funny how some species are just like a monster in a video game. Once you unlock it you see them all the time. For example the hairy blenny, I remember the video where you caught your first hairy blenny. Never caught one before that , but now everytime you go to florida you catch one. Lol
Did you know that there is an underwater camera at this pier? I've never seen a parrot fish here.. There are several scrawled file fish seen around. The mascot is a cute little Blenny who lives in one of the pilings. His name is Benny..☺ Lots of Chubs, Mangrove Snappers, barracuda, Sergeant Majors and Angels. A lot of folks fish down closer to the covered area.. on Tuesday they were pulling in fish as fast as they could bait a hook and cast it.
Great video Leo! Love the 2 days in a row upload! Glad to see u taking it all in in Florida and of course catching fish ! Also glad to see u staying healthy
The thing I do not like about pier fishing is your too far up, when you release a fish, they usually die from the shock of being thrown back from that height. Also, the pilings harbor lots of small fish to nip your baits, but its all good fun, I have always found that fishing the inlets is more productive, but more dangerous.
Only caught 1 fish there on a 3 day Vacation. I’m going to be going there everyday in July until forever since I’m moving to Florida. Hope I see you one day! One of the hotels in front is my moms friends hotel.
Last time I was fishing there one of the guys hooked a sea turtle and I ended up being the guy to take care of it and help remove the hooks, one of the coolest experiences of my life!
Cool video as always. We've been spoiled by you. Whenever you go multispecies fishing at a SoFlo peer I'm always expecting like 20 different species lol I'm surprised you left the Corona virus mention in the video after what happened last time.
So got a folding bucket that I use for like a bait tank and I release fish with it because it has a string attached to it I seen a lot of Japanese fishing videos and they use them all the time so I purchase one 😁
The end of the pier is closed off. When it was open, the local-yocals monopolize it as their own privately owned area. The locals show up late and muscle their way into the best area. They will cast out multiple lines over top of you and take over the area as if they own the place. If you really want a true salt water fishing experience, take a drift boat or charter.
Dude EPF I fish at DFP al the time you need to go to the end of the pier and you will catch kingfish Spanish Mack blue runners and etc their is some big fish there and the best time to fish there is in the summer
Sorry to tell you bud, but where fished out in South Florida piers. Too much waste coming from the coastline. You have to go atleast 3 miles out to sniff at a big fish. You sometimes can get lucky tho. But doubt it. It's terrible down here from the shore.
Deerfield gets packed with Brazilians. Unfortunately , we are shut down because of COVID19. Come to Deerfield Beach on the summertime, nothing but Brazilian cakeeeeeeee.
You dont gotta be vengeful towards those pelicans, bruh. They're just being opportunists, and the fact that they're comfortable stealing from/ being fed by humans is likely the fault of fishermen.
“A pelican will get it” and just like that Leo becomes his nemesis’s best friend!
Great meeting you!!!! Glad you enjoyed the hooks. Best youtuber out!!
Griffin wasn’t black tho 😂😂

I practically lived on that pier in the 70's. Of course I think the original pier I fished on is gone and this is a new one.
And when the "blues" are running, those piers get BUSY! Always fun to watch you, thnx Leo. 👍😎🎣 tight lines!

....THE CROWD IS AMAZING! ...IT'S GOOD YOU FOUND A SPOT!
CROWD is spelled crowd!!
Living in Delaware and having been out on this pier without a fishing rod is a cool surprise, thanks Leo for showing what i missed lol
I actually caught a filefish (my brother too) in the mouth down at Anglin's. Pretty good fighter!
That pier has an underwater live cam that you can watch every day. I've seen Hammerhead sharks, snook Nurse sharks and other game fish.
There are always many Mutton snapper (Lutjanus analis)caught here. If you release them use a pier net or bring a long handled net.
Fished there years ago for 5 hours and only snagged one mullet. Definitely would love to give it a try now that I’m better.
Thanks for showing the pier. With "Low Tide " fishing can be tough. Take care now. Tom Daytona Beach, FL.

yes leo your back uploading only thing getting me from this virus
"Fly pelicans fly!" EPF crossover with Scarface episode. Nice work out there, always dig the exotics.
Leo, you saved me! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you. 💕💕💕

Leo Someday You should come down here to Texas to fish because the freshwater fishing here is amazing!
Great tip! thanks for sharing, this morning I had great experience at pier
Last time I was fishing there one of the guys hooked a sea turtle and I ended up being the guy to take care of it and help remove the hooks, one of the coolest experiences of my life!
$4 is cool, I thought it was $7.
Benny the Blenny has a huge following on the underwater cam.
Philly Man Wants to Eat Pelicans, Called Them Flying Chicken
Great video. Thanks for listing your Plano rod tube. Stay healthy!
Those silly Pelicans! I fish here and they look at those fish like they think I have a gift for em.
Well I guess I'll sleep 21:10 minutes later today.
shout out to my boi Griffin ! good sport !
It happens bro. I've lost more than a few fish. It's the life of a fisherman. The only one I regret was a 20" rainbow. Could not recover that one.
I'm wanting to go on this pier in Deerfield....they've caught sailfish off that pier!
What kind of baitfish can you get off of the piper?
Doesn''t that long descent back into the water kill some of the fish or just knock the wind out of them?
were you able to fish off the beach itself?
This is a stretch but you could attempt catching a sargassum fish (Histrio Histrio) I see them washing up all the time
Note: Cherry Grove pier is located in South Carolina. Not in NC. That's North Myrtle Beach.
Leo did you see that the Pa. fish commission moved the first day of trout season back to April 18 instead of April 4th?
Cool video as always. We've been spoiled by you. Whenever you go multispecies fishing at a SoFlo peer I'm always expecting like 20 different species lol I'm surprised you left the Corona virus mention in the video after what happened last time.
Wile you were fishing( iron sound )a tagged great white passed by there headed to the gulf 12 footer
Beautiful spot and sunrise. Enjoyed the video

So I guess the livecam's gone; used to watch it and then all activities in the water was restricted- no fishing or diving! Good luck ;)

20:41 philly: Thank y'all for watching this vid.
kid: HUH?!?!?!?
leather jackets and file fish also have strong jaws that could break hooks
Hey EPF, why dont you use that custom rod a subscriber made for you?
The only time I’m happy to see adds is on a EPF video
That filefish is nuts looking 🙀
WATCHING IT! While leaving this comment 😊👍🏻
First thing of the day “big chub”😂
@Extreme Philly Fishing thats not a chub its a sliva drummer good eating Btw you were right kind of its in the chub species 🤣🤣🤣
I liked the explanation at the beginning Leo
Are you still in deerfield because I live close to there. I would love to meet you
He's been at home self-quarantining for a few days now.
You'll have to stay 10 feet away from him
What rod is that?
Different species of fish...love it..Great video..Thanks..
Why not use the chub as bait?
Can u do another review on anglins pier?
Dang that beach looks empty. Atleast you won’t starve. Always can eat the fish
Deerfield gets packed with Brazilians. Unfortunately , we are shut down because of COVID19. Come to Deerfield Beach on the summertime, nothing but Brazilian cakeeeeeeee.
14:45 HEY!!! THAT'S KING BENNY FROM THE DFB UNDERWATER LIVE STREAM!!!

You dont gotta be vengeful towards those pelicans, bruh. They're just being opportunists, and the fact that they're comfortable stealing from/ being fed by humans is likely the fault of fishermen.
Hey leo how's your dad doing with all this Corona virus?
Sound like Butters when he becomes a pimp... "Bebey is my bottom bitch... Do you know what I am saying?" Love your vids EPF!!
Great video buddy 🙏😎🤙#nevergiveup
Oklahoma closed Hunting and fishing because of the C.V. and are fining people $100 for fishing
That snag with the chub isnt a snag in my books. Its basically in the mouth.
Mustad is so terrible...Owner, gamakatsu and VMC are way stronger. when i buy a lure with mustad hooks, i change them.
Life is good
Stay in quarantine epf so you can keep making vids
Keep on Keepin on! Nobody is going to keep EPF down! You are a light in the darkness my friend
