Bruh what how I’ve never seen shit like that ever happen where I’m from everyone always says nah if you ask if they’re good bait. All the big snook I see always ignore them and they chill together at lights lol
Are you supposed to fish with them dead or do you attempt to keep them alive? Last time I was in FL we fished for these off the dock and they were painfully hard to catch with their tiny mouths but tossed them back not thinking we could use them for bait. If you use them dead, would we catch anything fishing them off the docks (with or without bobbers)? We have a canal house in Gavelston in 3 weeks and just curious if it's worth trying to catch these for bait if we're just going to be dock fishing the canals (dock fishing meaning from the dock at our rental, not in a boat going through the channels).
As a kid we fished the pier at Bokeelia. There were doors in the floor you opened to fish for snook. The man at the bait shop alway whispered that he had little sea trout for sale but we only ever bought shrimp.
I'm glad the guy at 2:50 is wearing a mask, don't wanna catch the Rona on a windy pier. I bet he drives home I'm his car alone with his mask on like a genius.
Awesome vid as always! From CT but fish there whenever in the Jupiter area. Always amazed at how keyed in the snook get on certain baits (ie crokers). Nice to see there is a new bait to add in the mix!! My son and I have done fairly well on the pier,
Cool vid. Lots of activity on that pier, you do your homework, that's appreciated. Reminds me of Holoover pier I used to fish from, nonstop action! Keep it up man.
It's fun to make jokes about Florida but if we are being honest, we are all just jealous of how awesome the fishing is down there. Salt and freshwater. Lol Great video, glad I found this channel. New subscriber
Your right every time I fish the pier I only throw bass crankbaits I’m not a saltwater fisherman but love to fish anything but let me tell you I promise you will be satisfied throwing a bass crank bait from the pier
Yeah, my experience is that you can catch pretty much any fish on any bait. Some baits work better for sure but imo the right timin' is much more important... Bein' fishable can often be more important than what exactly you use. Everyone has their favorite bait but I learned that you really can use any kind of bait fish and any kind of lure, present it right and have success!!!
Pier is 950 feet long! It’s only around 10-13’ deep depending on the season and tide. Beach “renourishment” projects have dumped so much sand on the beach over the years, that sand erodes away and collets under the pier unfortunately.
@@RyanMorie Thanks appreciate it. Watching you brings up lots of fun memories for the times I spent snook fishing on that pier as well as the original Juno Pier that was blown down in 1984.
Here on Brazil , the Marlin, Swordfish ALL espicies of Bill fish the fishermans use to pay like 2 dolars for each one about the size you showed in the vídeo, and the small ones are perfect from the snoocks and groupers from down here!
They are super “Geary” out of the box. Kind of reminds me of a conventional Van Staal. It’s been decent for the 3-4 trips I’ve used it, but longevity remains to be seen. Heard some mixed reviews around the industry 🤷🏽♂️
@@RyanMorie I've heard people dog on them and I'm not sure why. My friend has 12 Avets and they go in for service twice a year with shot out bearings. With over a 1 month turnaround. I've got an 800 and a 500 Valiant as well as a Tern 400 and they work great. I love the noise of the gears. It's stainless on stainless gear set. Had one issue with an Accurate. And they fixed it for free 4 years after I purchased it. Didn't charge me and had the reel back in a week! You'll be happy with it. I was just wondering what your experience has been. I hear people bash Accurate with claims of a reel "blowing up" with no clarification or evidence. Usually the story is of their friends neighbors cousins bosses brother in law had one fail on him lol.
Sounds like every reel that gets bashed. Never a first hand story haha. Truth be told most reels are pretty great these days, so my reviews will basically be nit-picking 🤣
@@RyanMorie it never is lol. Amazing how many good reels are out there right now. iCast had some awesome reels unveiled. The new Saltist MQ looks really nice! I was wondering have you fished a Zeebaas? They look interesting I've got a few Staals and thought about trying a ZB. But the smallest size they make is almost 20oz and basically the size of a VS150. I know you've fished some high end stuff. And was curious about your opinion on them.
I’ve used a handful that were owned by other anglers. When ZB work properly they are legitimately better than a Van Staal. But they have had so many Quality control issues and inconsistencies with their reels, I can’t recommend them to anyone. Additionally the company has changed hands so many times their customer service is just terrible. Or it could be good right now, who knows, they’ll probably sell again by years end 🤣.
I watch your videos with great interest because my passion is fishing, but the truth is that I am homeless and I don't have enough money to buy a reel. I really like your fishing reel.
500 feet from the pier distance rule. But there’s plenty of baits spots that aren’t the pier. Honestly they hold more bait than the pier does these days
What I like you catch and release the fish properly you lower it back in the net thank you bro cause alot of the fisherman on TH-cam throw the fish back in the water not cool I don't have much respect for them that do it. SO A BIG THANKS TO YOU BRO GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER AND YOUR FAMILY AND GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU WHO ARE STRUGGLING AND HOMELESS BECAUSE OF COVID-19

That’s a massive fish. I’ve only tangled with a few fish pushing the 30lb mark in my lifetime. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one over 35 in person. Cheers 🍻 and welcome aboard!
First time on channel ! Nice Snook my brother. Here in Orlando need to try my Salt Water Game. Give these LARGE MOUTH a break. What is the season for Snook ? And can you eat them ?
Heck yes you can eat them. Sept 1 was start of the season on Atlantic side, so you can keep one between 28 and 32 inches. I'm not sure about gulf side.
I would recomend a fishing rod to you guys and girls and its the play light jigger. Its really thin but you can jig 200 grams with the biggest one and you get an amazing foght with the bigger fish!
Hey awesome video! Urned my sub! I have a question: when do you cast under vs away from the pier ? And what fish typically hide under vs outside of the pier ? Thanks 🤙
It’s really all situationally dependent. Too much to type. If you search my channel for the video titled “Florida Pier Fishing: Don’t make these mistakes” it’ll give you an insight of some of the basics. However, Nothing compares to experience and time on the water.
Dude with the net was a life saver💯
He’s a super nice guy!
Love watching pier fishing videos, its where I mainly fish. So I like to see everyone else and how they do it
Needlefish are a really underrated bait. I catch cudas and tarpon on them flat lining them off the pier and catch grouper on them as cut bait.
Where at?
Solid fried to if you get big ones
Where do you fish at
Bruh what how I’ve never seen shit like that ever happen where I’m from everyone always says nah if you ask if they’re good bait. All the big snook I see always ignore them and they chill together at lights lol
I caught a 6 foot tarpon off a needlefish in puerto tico
So awesome how everyone was getting along, helping and fishing together

Thanks for the vids Ryan. Best stuff to watch when not fishing.
Thanks for watching!

Good o’le snook fishing. I remember catching a 30 inch snook off of a small greenback.

Hey Ryan, when do the snook turn off this time of year in Juno. Ive been wanting to come. Im on the west side of Florida , boca grande
The snook on the east coast won’t slow don’t till after the mullet run right when the water starts getting colder

So you can catch snook on cut mullet or dead’ shrimp on a fish finder rig ?
I’ve caught big snook on everything lol so true. Everything from a shrimp tail to a small barracuda😂

What is the conventional reel your using? I’m looking to buy a good conventional reel for Juno.
It’s an Accurate Tern 600. If you want a smooth reel, it’s not for you

Had no idea. Always heard they were trash bait. Tried them once and had nothing happen all day.
Awesome vid!
Thank you! 🍻
hello, what is the garfish silicone product brand you use??
was on the pier Sunday morning and it was packed not much snook bite at all but many other species probably gonna use hound fish to next time
What bait caster combo was that???
could tell me please What is fishing rod brand you use in this video?
Also the fact it went through your 100lb mono is nuts
Looked like a damn fine day.
Wow thirty seconds ago!!! You are living my dream man, keep this shit up.

Do you need special rods for this type of fishing?
You’d want a Medium-Heavy or Heavy rod, you could use other rods but I wouldn’t feel comfortable using them. Your pole would be bending so much.

Pier guys tend to favor heavier gear, the reason being- you need enough backbone to keep a big fish from wrapping the pilings and cutting you off.
