    I just replaced my WGA on a 2013 Sonata. The OEM part was just over $200 and it took less than an hour to replace. The only difficult part is removing the C clip. Thanks for the video. For anyone who decides to do this you must also clear the codes with a scan tool after completing the work. If you don't have a scan tool go to Advance Auto and they will let you use theirs.

    When replacing the waste gate actuator you can leave the original arm attached to the waste gate and just replace the actuator. It’s a lot easier.

      @@hyundaitech I figured that out when I used this (your) video to help guide me. I got a lot of great help from it. I couldn't figure out how to get that little clip off, my eye site isn't what it used to be, so I left it on the waste gate and easily disconnected the rod from the actuator. I also figured that the arm would then be pre-adjusted. Thanks again for posting this helpful video.

    easiest way to remove the c-clip is by rotatating it so it's fins are upside, then pushing them down at the same time with a long nose pliers. a piece of clothe underneath it will help retain from falling on the ground.

    Just about to purchase a 2015 (MY16) Santa Fe and to the car for a test drive and lost power like limp mode after giving the car a little gas and boost (not fully revving the car). No engine lights on dash. Stopped car then restarted engine, drove off and issue gone. Came back once more, repeated the stop start process and cruised back home. Then scanned and the scanner picked up error code: P256300 Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor "A" Circuit Range/performance.
    Is this issue an actuator adjustment? Do I need a new actuator assembly? or could it be a sensor issue?
    Have not been able to test voltage. Where do I connect the multimeter to test the 4 volt reading on the Santa Fe?

    The wastegate actuator harm bushing drying out due to its proximity to the exhaust is the main issue. Anyway to lubricate periodically? What time of high heat grease could be use?

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe you can try high heat silicone if theres one that you can try to spray every year, but the concern there will be because its so expose to the heat maybe there will be a chemical reaction to the material of the bushing and the silicone and will cause a premature failure. Im not sure.

    Is this a common problem? I bought a 2013 Santa fe last May & by July I had the EWA replaced. Now this month (8 months later) the same code p2562 is showing on a diagnostic. How long should the replacement last? Is it worth keeping the car? I live in Texas & you have to pass yearly inspections to keep your car registered.

      @hyundaitech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well here in canada its comon because of the salt and snow, but since youre in texas that should last for awhile, even here, i think in my experience i never had tp replace twice in that short period in time. Maybe theres an underlying issue to cause that trouble code to come back ? Maybe pin fitment issue? Just double check that the wastegate itself is seized or not moving freely. Hope that helps

    Battling an issue where a 17 Tuscan that has had wastegate replaced, turbo replaced and when I turn the car on it sweeps but no matter what adjustments I do I can only get it to 1.6 key on engine off once it comes to rest. This the second wastegate actuator. If I adjust it all the way in I can get it to 2.5 but that is pushing the wastegate towards the driver side and it seems opposite of what I've seen. Any ideas?

      @hyundaitech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @lizard2006
      @lizard2006 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @hyundaitech a p2562. The car has no power and will not build boost. The hyundai dealership replaced the turbo, actuator and it did not fix the issue. We ordered a new actuator thinking it might be bad. Key on engine off the most I get after adjusting the arm was 1.6 volts. I put the waste gate all the way to the passenger side and no matter how many times I remove the rod and adjust after I cycle the key it remains around 1.4-1.6 adjusting the rod all the way in I was able to get 2.5 volts. I've verified wiring is good to and from the pcm. I can manually move the arm with the key on and get it where the voltage needs to be but I can't get the adjustment right. Also neither my autel or snap on scanner both up to date will allow me to actuator the actuator. The snap on fails and gives me an error. I'm beginning to wonder if alldata and indentifix has the correct info for this car as my wastegate the rod mounts from the bottom onto the wastegate
