I have a 2013 genesis coupe and I checked the arm on the waste gate actuator because I was getting no boost and I have a CEL code for the turbo boost sensor and the actuator arm was completely detached from the actuator, it wasn't bolted on or connected to the actuator. Do you know how that could have happened?
So as long as it stays the same both ways before determining replacement then you can make the adjustment with rod? But when its never stabile then its worn out?
@coryament not true as long as your getting voltage the actuator is good you to really play with it to get to recommended factory voltage between 3.98 to 4.0
I just adjusted mine and had a hell of a time getting a consistent reading. Started with 3.8 and ended with 4.2x. No improvement in boost. Only get up to 0.4 psi. I'm thinking the actuator is shot. No error codes for it though
The code I’m getting is P2565 I thought it was to change the turbocharger boost sensor but I think the actuator is going bad. Where did you order yours ?
So I brought my 2013 sonata 2.0T to the dealer and they determined that the wastegate actuator/solenoid needed to be replaced. It was replaced and the same issue came back 2 days later. They said the replacement was faulty and replaced it again. Drove it home and the check engine light came right back on with the same code. Needless to say the cars back at the dealer. Anyone have similar issues??
@@elantra45 It was a while ago but after me arguing with them they realized that it wasn’t adjusted properly to be within the proper voltage. Haven’t had a problem since.
Hey i have a question. Did the part that rotates on the actuator do a full 360 or did it only move 2 ways. Mine does. A full 360 and feels a little loose so i think mine could be broken.
@@coryament yeah mine does a full circle when i move it. And i feel no boost when i accelerate so i hope thats what needs replaced since i dont have a cel.
What were the symptoms this car was having before replacing wastegate and where there any codes?
I just made a video do you think my problem could be the same I adjusted the voltage but the arm felt very loose and wiggled alot
Most likely it is the actuator

The snap ring or C clip (same thing) came off.

yes

How did you get the rod off the wastegate side? I’m in the middle of doing mine now
I believe there is a clip that holds it on.
@@coryament I don’t see a clip, It looks and feels flat
@@coryament do you have to replace the rod with the one on the new actuator? Or can I just keep the rod on and replace the bad actuator piece?
@@awesome31539 you can change jut the actuator and use the old rod

I buy all those parts from the dealer
How much did u pay
did you change the boost sensor?
hello. i'm interested, i have 2010 2.0 korean hyundai santa fe, is it same wastegate actuator?
I do think they are the same
Any idea where can I buy this at best price?
@Suhasm1111 honestly I would buy it from the local dealership. I have had problems with aftermarket.
@@coryament Thank you!
How do I know if my turbo is bad and not the actuator.
I have never had a bad turbo on one of these cars always the actuator. If the actuator checks out ok then probably suspect the turbo itself
@@coryament thank you very much, I have this problem. I already adjusted the actuator, but the boost is still gone.
@@Juan67_Az does the actuator always return to the same reading after cycling it back and forth?
@@coryament yes
@@Juan67_Az my experience has ben the stop point changes. What code are you getting?

I haven't. Usually they are fixed with a new actuator.
Did they check to make sure that actual wastegate flapper door is moving freely by hand? If not your turbo assembly will need to be replaced.

It should only move back and forth so far

You need your back door camera so people can see where you’re at on a vehicle
Dude you’re not showing much
Watching this because I lost the hook on the end of my actuator rod so now I’m just gonna replace the whole thing 🥲
