    I may like my GSX-R too much. If you could pick one bike for me to test on my commute what would it be?

    • @craigweightman799
      @craigweightman799 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take the cbf on the commute as it's a better bike for it leave the srad for fun days as that's what it's built for.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is definitely more suited to the commute....but those 10 minutes of Twisties 😍😍 The gsxr is great for those :P

      I'd have to be the Moto Guzzi V85 TT, just to see how you get on with it and like it... I think it may feel a little slow for your tastes though!

      Why did TH-cam not tell me this was here. I'd love to try one for a review tbh it's a bike I'd buy I think! Haha I'm.not a speed demon :P

    Your right on here. A backpack is must for commuting on any sports bike. Other than that as long as you're comfortable there shouldn't be an issue commuting everyday with one.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or any bike without storage really :) Other than the risk of losing ones license eh :P

    Ive been watching your videos for a little while now and your review and subsequent purchase of the honda cbf 1000 helped me to drop the hammer and buy myself one have to say its brilliant love it keep doing what you do love the srad but cbf has it for commuting

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah glad I helped in some way they're a bloody brilliant bike :) The SRAD is 100% not as good for commuting as the CBF. I had to do a 200km round trip the other day to collect a clutch for my brother's car and the CBF just did it without any fuss and was still so fun :) So yes, the CBF wins :)

    I did London to Inverness in a single day on my srad 600. I’ve also done the same thing on my sv650s and can tell you that the gsxr was much more comfortable. Plus it got almost 200 miles to the tank!

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The comfort thing would vary wildly on the person I think. My soul would fall out of my body if I tried to do more than 300km in a day on the GSXR. 200 miles to the tank is very impressive!

    • @DerKaktusAvant
      @DerKaktusAvant 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheGorillaBiker I think if you do it often you get used to it. I quite regularly do longer rides.
      And yeah on the motorway I was getting around 200 miles to the tank. Riding normally I get about 100 max haha.

      The brakes are like acquired tastes, someone out there likes them but you might never get it. I'll upgrade them when I can afford it I'd say! It's a hell of a lot of fun :) Thanks :)

    Ive just come across your Channel Gorilla, and just cant get enough 😅
    Ive been wanting to get myself a motorcycle for a long time but haven’t got a big bike license yet... so Im just gonna hold on seeing as I am only 23 years old (you need to be 24 to have a non-restricted license)
    Ive always loved the thought of having a sport classic motorcycle and coming across your channel has inspired me to start tinkering and have decided to purchase the gsxr-600 and store it in my garage and have it as a project bike and work on it until it’s running again or I pass my Full license.
    Just would like to say loving the content, as well as thank you for the inspiration 😁👊

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good plan tbh, dodges all the nonsense access programs and extra payments :) Ah nice one! Best way to do it really you'll know the bike inside out then once it's going :)
      Ah thanks man, I really appreciate the comment, always great to get ones like this :)

    @craigweightman799 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video buddy the front brake bit cracked me up 😂. I've had a cbf1000 and it's a great bike plenty fast enough and has a 3 hight adjustable seat is fantastic as i'm short .

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks :) Haha I'm funny about as often as a leap year :P I love my CBF :) It's about as fast as I'd ever need on Irish roads anyway!! The height adjustable seat is grand on low and med setting but on the highest the gap to the tank is awful so it's unusable to me!

    I think it's gorgeous. That color (colour 😉) is awesome, I had an 05 Speed Triple with a similar shade of yellow gold. Love the big ole unpolished wrap around sub frame. Don't mind the hump either, I think it's dope. Good on ya, sweet scoot! 👍👍

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me too! I'm not good at spelling so that ;) is lost on me :D I think I spell it colour tho :D Yeah the gold colour just pops so well in the sun it's lovely :) The hump is the only way I'd have one of these bikes! They're made to be a single seater :) Thanks.

    They are a practical bike aslong as you have a backpack, and no i dont like wearing a backpack while riding, probably why i use the adventure bike with the panniers 😁👍🏼

    Is any rear brake from a 90's bike any good? I get the enjoyment you have from a bike of this age. But as a daily commuter, I think the novelty would wear off and you will start craving the CBF.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I lived in Dublin four years but the weather is not supporting motorcycle riding. Locals used to say to foreigners that only one season in 🇮🇪 Ireland. Hope you were lucky enough not to bump into flock of sheep in the countryside.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd honestly have to disagree tbh, as I didn't own a car for the last couple of years and only rode my CBF. Yeah sure the rain sucks sometimes but it's not that bad.
      Flocks of sheep tend to be in fields so I managed to avoid them for 30 years yeah :D They'd only be out and about on mountain roads generally, and that's worth the risk imo.

  • @crumblymal8479
    @crumblymal8479 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think through the passage of time the Japanese bikes seemed to make the earlier models quicker and as the time went buy they would refine them and make them easier to ride take the Kawasaki the KH 500 was not as quick in my opinion as the earlier H1' s or the Suzuki 250 Hustler was I think bit quicker than the later GT Ram air on Hondas G5 250 was not as quick as the K or K1 and so it goes on Z1/9's and Z1000's .Bu she mighty fine your GSXR 750 ( you know that I would have that as an addition to my V65 and XJR12 ).But I reckon your color is the most expensive and hard to get .Ill bet yer wrist were chilly there . : )

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah that's a fair point, even like the newest Hayabusa, it's more refined than an huge upgrade. Which I think is a great idea :) It's the case too that with bikes pre emissions control it was a lot easier for manufacturers to just lump in more power without worrying about if they'd fail tests etc :) That it is :) That'd be some collection in fairness!!! :) Haha they were grand on the way home! I'm still thinking on which race gloves I want to get :D

    Ok. Backlog of videos. I get it. I'm getting sloppy. Minecraft is consuming me. Help. Me
    Hey the motorway didn't have to be the boring bit. Coulda see what top speed it has :/
    Thing is sportbikes aren't designed for torque. True, this bike is better for city riding than a 2020 gsxr 750, but if you were buying a bike to ride in the city only you'd rather the cbf eh
    I used to have a tank bag that hooked on with magnets. Now I am such a gangsta I lost it a while ago and didn't buy a new one, backpack lyf
    Sounds great, would sound better with a louder exhaust :P
    WELCOME 2 DA SPORT BOIKE KLUB
    That bike is gonna last forever
    It isn't the best colour scheme. But I would deffo take it over the cbf
    LATE COMMENT YAY

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha Minecraft got you good eh? You playing solo or on a server?
      I did a top speed test off camera. That's not for TH-cam eyes. 140ish, whether you decide if that kmh or not is up to you :)
      They're not, but this one is decently torquey which is nice :) Not even you'd rather a like....an mt07 or somthing really.
      Backpacks are handier I found, the only tankbag I ever had annoyed me.
      If you were up to date on videos you'd know the story with the exhaust 😬😬
      Tanks. It's nice here.
      I hope so.
      ITS THE BEST COLOUR SCHEME REEEE

    I had the 600, I thought the rear brake was not too bad - I have an 07 ZX6R, and the rear brake is diabolical, could be down to it not being underslung?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the worst rear brake I've ever used, but I'd like it a bit stronger. It works tho so that's all you need really! Yeah probably doesn't help, could also just be that the rear needs attention, when was it last rebuild and when were the lines changed etc?
