      Gents I'll be deleting these messages as selling posts are apparently actually against the rules. Just giving ye a heads up.
      @YaboiTal I'd actually recommend buying your first bike from a reputable dealer if you can do you have a warranty and a bit of backup.

    • @seanhayes6097
      @seanhayes6097 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @YaboiTal I have or have had all the mid range to top gsxrs and recommend the earlier 96 97 models as theyre less complicated with less complex electronics over the 98 which is fuel injection and are real unnecessary hassle when they go wrong .A 750 is a good size though the smaller 400s are quick and reliable and are cheap classic insurance I'd advise you buy secondhand from a good auctions.
      Ive saved heaps of cash buying bikes from some of the many police auctions (ive paid as little as just 1/4 of the used value guide!) most of the decent ones offer roughly 28 days moneyback policy or sell extra warranty .Just take someone who knows there stuff with you

      Love the SRADS. Bike would nice with either color matched gold wheels or neon red like the GSXR decal. If you plan to sell it, please feel free to let me know, love to have another SRAD in mint condition. What's the mileage on it?
      Also has to be your height because I remember the SRAD being pretty comfy. Of course I'm not that tall. lol

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wheelsone6180 Me too, I won't be selling it likely ever and there's already a waiting list if I do :D I'll post it up on the channel if I ever do tho :) I actually like the gray/black wheels on it tbh I wouldn't be mad on red in general tho. Nearly 22k miles now, 20 odd when I got it.
      Yeah 6'7 makes everything kind of suck tbh, I wish I wasn't as tall every day :D

      @@TheGorillaBiker Yeah bike looks good as is, and if you like the wheels that all that really matters. :)
      Haha I'm sure being that tall has it's advantages. I had a buddy growing up that was either your height or taller and I think he had to sleep in his bed sideways. lol

    So good to see another tall person on a 750😀 Im 6 foot 7 and 112kg and fit pretty good. I flipped the clip ons on my 2011 750 from left to right and it gave me 2 inch rise.

    The SRAD was a game changer back in its day in 1998 I had a foyeye fireblade king of sports bike, a friend bought a brand new Carb Gixer then, I road it, and the top end power was in a different league handling brakeing ect . It was the bench mark then going forward, only down side was suzuki built quality was cheap as nasty back then if you kept them away from winter use they were good, suzuki today are high quality fit and finish, and best value inline four sports bike.

    So we can take it from this that you quite like the bike..... Negative for me is that colour, and that really clumsy fairing bracket arrangement. They were epic bikes. Please don't change the exhaust. Fuel economy I think on bikes like that big 4s with carbs is totally at the command of the right wrist. My FZR gave me 60mpg normally and 12mpg on the track..... If you ride it everyday then your body adapts. I toured on my FZR, though admittedly the GSXR was always more extreme. It was always said that was why GSXR riders wheelied so much to take the weight off their wrists. Yes I can see why you love it. It is a weapon, and makes you feel like a great rider. Would I want one now, no. Not looking for that out of my riding any more. Enjoy !!!! Good video as ever.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha yes yes you can :) That's fair, colour and looks is always very very subjective :) Is it just gold and black don't do it for you? The fairing bracket honestly hasn't even registered on my mind weirdly...it might annoy me eventually :) I'm actually leaning towards not changing it the more I ride it....I loooooooove the sound of the bike anyway, but I've always loved the Yoshis for it, time appropriate :) We'll see. It'll be interesting to see how it does long term but over the first couple of hundred miles I've done it's been fine on fuel and pretty comfy too, so I'll hopefully only get more comfy :) Haha no comment :P It really does, and is so deceptive that you're going around corners 20% faster but it feels slower. That's fair, this might eventually become a more once a month type bike, but with the story of hw I got it and all I will keep it forever unless I can hand it on at some point :) I will :) Thanks Stephen!

    Great review. I bought my fi 750 back in 98 new. Took the body work off and raced it with emra and derby phoenix finishing 3rd overall in the road stock championship against blades and r1s. Switched to a K4 in 2005 and put the srad back on the road. I still have it to this day and will never sell it. I've had modern 190bhp bikes but I'll always prefer to sling my leg over the srad to this day. A fantastic bike

    Great review.
    I've owned & ridden dozens of bikes over the years, including 8x 750wt Srads (same as yours).
    The VFR NC30 400 & the Srads have been the best smiles per mile bikes i've owned.
    Currently got a Srad exactly the same as yours, inc colour, totally original & excellent condition, wrapped up in storage. A classic 25yr old bike that can still mix it with the current bikes, with the right rider.
    At the time of release it was a huge step forwards in supersport bikes. Made for the WSB series for the Suzuki WSB team of Jamie Whitam & co.
    The brakes stop well but feel wooden, big tip is to change the front calipers to thw same 4pot, giving the same braking but better feel.
    The magazines of the time, dubbed the Srad 750 WT, a screaming banshee. It was then & still is now. Amazing bike.
    Look for an original, un abused one with SH if possible & you'll LOVE IT.

      Yes indeed! It was an absolute champion at the time.
      They do stop well, I changed the master cylinder instead as I didn't really have an issue with stopping power, just feel, a brembo RCS19 made it way way better.
      It does indeed sound absolutely immense when it's opened up, especially the carbed model imo.
      Haha mine is no longer original or unabused and I still love it to bits :)

    I have burnt-out speedometer lights on my 99' GSXR - 750. I have looked up in the service manual info on the lights but all that is there is they are 12 volt - 1.7 watt.
    I need the actual part number because there are cool, LED lights for sale on Amazon but I don't want to order the wrong ones.
    One TH-cam channel that shows a guy replacing the lights does not mention the numbers, but in the comments, one guy asks if the lights are T10 5050 ...is that the proper product number I need to order the lights?
    I know there's not much room inside the Speedo housing, so I would like to know for what actually fits. Many of the T10's for sale online seem to range in actual size, so a clearance problem might exist if I don't educate myself first.
    If you have any first hand knowledge on what replacement number I'm looking for, that would be a great help. I also want the brightest, white I can find.

    I bought one of these Christmas time 2020 as a present for myself to cure lock down fever,, I've been caring for my elderly mother also for 4 years and felt the need for Speed.. so I also bought the GSXR 1000 K2 complete with the riser wheelie handle bars( I mean we're only here once!) I haven't really opened the K2 up although the 750 SRAD 1996 is such a fantastic ride and had much easier handling with its dropped handle bars and power delivery . The top end speeds are not too far apart but the K2 takes much more effort to ride to the local shops and back and Potter around town safely. They are much easier to drop at low speeds if you're not careful with your clutch control. The exhaust also makes it sound as though it's a really angry animal on a leash ready to pounce at a moment's notice.. the SRAD feels so much more smoother although deceptively tame. It's also about 10kg heavier depending what exhaust system and extras you have.
    I've always believe there's plenty of mileage still left in some of these older vintage bikes .As soon as the limit was agreed on of a top speed of 185 it seems the riders ability is foremost n handling acceleration and the response of your braking.
    There's also so many aftermarket an extras you can use to upgrade and modernise these bikes and they're so much better value than going out and buying new bike for probably £10,000 or more Plus when I paid only £900 for the bike (it had been in storage 7 years ) and spent £700 on it getting it back to normal up to scratch. I truly believe it wouldn't take much more money (although obviously a DIY job) to compete with most modern Superbikes. As the guys says they have still been using the twinspar aluminium frame on the Hayabusa!

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah you won't find judgement here on buying many many bikes :D I personally don't even feel the need to upgrade it much tbh, it was very well built balace wise for me from factory :) Yep on the aluminium frame I even called that out in a video I did recently on the new Busa. Just goes to show how good the design originally was I suppose! I'd love to try a few newer 750s to compare to the SRAD at some point.

    Just noticed you may have routed the rear brake pipe incorrectly, I think from the master cylinder it drops to the inside of the swinging arm, through a hose guide then to the caliper. Maybe worth checking out the correct routing and adjusting.

    It's a race bike with lights and a plate. The comfort is what it is and at 6'7'' if you are even slightly comfy that is a win. For me though, it's like riding my zx10 to Cali and back, you ride it for the love of the bike. I had my 600 dyno'd back in the day I want to say it put out 105hp to the rear wheel and 97hp was around stock. 105hp was with a air filter, full header pipe and carb rejet. I'm jealous of the beautiful fairings. Mine will need prep and paint or wrap. It is a timeless beaut and I to prefer the twin lights also.
    You NEED a louder exhaust!

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, I'd sacrifice a lot to be able to ride this thing but it is actually pretty comfy :D The ZX10 trip was mental to be fair....you may be insane :D 105 to the wheel is very impressive numbers!! Mine is apparently 119 to the wheel stock but I'll check it eventually :) Tehy are so so pretty :) COuld you buy some aftermarket fairings instead?
