    You are such an amazing instructor. The best I have seen. You are clear and relevant. Can't thank you enough for these tutorials without them I would probably not even by able to drive my new Lexus. You have made a huge difference in insuring satisfaction with the technology instead of the technology completing overwhelming us. Can't thank you enough. Lexus should hire you and pay you big bucks for all of this great education. Please keep them coming.

    Your videos are so helpful. I watched your Deep Dive Videos for the 2023 RX and NX. We have an RX and today's video answered many questions. My sister has an NX and has given-up on using the Lexus interface. I have been forwarding your videos to her. A friend has a 2020 RX and her lease was is due. After she heard about the learning curve she decided to buy-out her lease rather then get a new car. Thank you so much for making me feel much more comfortable with the car.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh goodness. I'm so sorry to hear your sister is having challenges with the new system. I know it is a big learning curve for sure. I work with a lot of Guests who are in the same boat. Including Guests trying to decide if they should keep the Lexus they have or trade for the new one. I think you can't go wrong either way. Just make the choice that is best for you. If you do need a new car and the system is challenging, I would recommend considering just connecting the phone for Bluetooth only. It helps the new car operate more like the previous system, because you won't be dealing with Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto). The only time I don't recommend this, is if the car doesn't come with the navigation trial, then you would want Apple or Android connected to be able to use nav from the phone. I hope this makes sense. If your sister has Lexus NAV on her NX, she might like to turn off the Apple/Android connection and see if that helps her. Thanks very much for being here and for all of your support!

    Hi Melissa, Excellent Videos ! My question , is it possible to change the default screen to the camera on startup ? If it is , please advise the steps to make this change. Thank you

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much for reaching out! Since the view from the Panorama view monitoring system is only active in Drive or Reverse, it is not possible to have it show in Park. However, as long as it is in the Auto mode, when you shift from Park to Reverse or Drive it should take over the full display on the main screen. To select Auto mode for the system: turn on the RX, apply the brake, shift into Drive, press the View Monitor Button, look for the camera icon with the A next to it. If it is not in Auto it will have a slash mark through it. Click to turn on Auto and the slash mark will go away. Now the system will operate automatically. I hope this helps.

    Hi Melissa, great and informative video! I've just bought a new Lexus and I was wondering if there's a setting to turn off the feature where you simply place your hand near the door handle to lock/unlock the car. These cars are in high demand for being stolen, and if possible disabling this feature could help protect my Lexus from theft. I'd rather lock/unlock the car with just my key fob

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. Thanks for checking in. If you have the smart key with you and you touch the indentation on the door handle it will lock. Placing your hand in the door handle it will unlock right before you open the door. You can disable the smart key system, but then you will need to use the mechanical key to open, lock and unlock the vehicle. Most people feel that it is safer to keep the key in your pocket or your bag so you don't have to take the time to handle the key in the door. I hope this helps.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Tran, the split screen is only possible in the Apple CarPlay platform, so if you are streaming radio through Apple Music Radio (iHeart Radio app) then go to the Apple CarPlay home screen it will show you audio content on the right hand side and the NAV on the left. It is not possible to split the screen with the Lexus system on one side and Apple's system on the other. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching!

    Hi Melissa and thanks for your excellent presentations. We have a 2023 RX 350 Sport which was purchased in UAE/Dubai. There is an odd behavior by Navigation that even the dealer has not been able to help me with. Although all language settings are set to English, still when directions are spoken by navigation, as long as the spoken direction does not include name of a street, all is correctly uttered in English ( such as: turn right in 50 meters. make a U-turn etc. ). On the other hand, if the direction should involve a street name like "Take the next exist to Street 15", "Take the next exist to..." is spoken in English by first lady, and "Street 15" is spoken by another lady in Arabic. Do you have any solution to this issue? Cheers

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! So sorry for the delay. It sounds like there are two resources working at the same time and it's possible that the navigation mapping details are in the primary language for the area, but not 100% compatible to translate into English. There is not a setting to give more control for integration of the map data with the vehicle voice assistant. I'm sorry I don't have a solution for you on this one other than to keep doing any updates that come through to see if they continue to improve the integration. Hi Melissa was wondering do I need to go visit the dealership on the dash screen of the car, it keeps telling me that a new key has been registered to the car and it tell me a key is detected in the vehicle when it wasn't a key there and it wouldn't let me lock the car

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! The message about a new key being registered is usually for Digital Key. It might also happen if the 2nd key for your vehicle has been added through a service campaign. The message will last for 10 days and then it will not come back. If you are getting a message that a key is detected in the vehicle and the car will not lock, I would check the owner's manuals and make sure you don't have the flat wallet style key in with the books. That is just a like a key fob with out any buttons and the car will not lock if it is detected in the vehicle. Thanks for checking in!

    Hi Melissa. Thank you for your videos. My tech at the dealership where I purchased my RX350h suggested that I go to your channel, and it's been super helpful!! One question I have is about the rear door latch. When I closed it the other day, I must have been standing too close to it, and it hit me in the head on the way down. Is there some type of sensor that stops the door before it hits something? I tried using a broom handle to check it, but it didn't stop for that. I'm hoping that this was a fluke. Let me know how careful I need to be when closing this power rear door. Thanks.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I'm so sorry to hear about that. The door doesn't have sensors that would do what you are wanting, unfortunately. • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Unfortunately the NAV system is programmed with software for the country or region where the vehicle is intended to be sold. If it has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, those are going to be your best bets for local navigation apps. I'm not sure what radio antenna they install for the Japanese market, but the RX does have tuner dial, if the antenna can pick up the signals in Melbourne, then you're in good shape. If not, then I would stream from your phone. Most radio stations are also broadcasting digitally though an app. Just select the audio from your phone and then use Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or Bluetooth Audio as your Source. I hope this helps! Thanks for tuning in with me!

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Are you asking about the Wallet Key? That is another electronic key. Just like a key fob but with no buttons. I don’t recommend using it for valet parking, because they don’t have an easy way to label or tag the flat key or hang it on their key board. Many times they stack them on their desks. When smart keys are stacked on top of each other they tend to send signals over and over again and can run the key battery down faster. If you are locking things in the glove box or in the trunk, take the metal key with you and give the body of the fob to the Valet. Also make sure to disable the electronic trunk function with the button in the glove box if you have a sedan and are trying to lockout the truck from valet access. 👍

Keep in mind that the new systems are going toward streaming and mirroring music from the phone and not a flash drive. Also, so many flash drives have a very large storage capacity now and the system on the car can not process all of the data. It is better to have your music on a compatible smart phone or MP3 player. Connect with Bluetooth Audio or plug in to one of the data compatible USB ports and you will have much better access to your music content. 👍

      I'm not an expert, but the consensus of online chat rooms seems to be that the FLAC format ripped from CDs is one of the the best and can easily be downloaded to USB. It is considered to be higher quality than playing music through your phone or radio. I have put over 100 CDs in FLAC on a 64 GB USB and still have a lot of room for more. There are some high quality streaming services too, like Tidal, which might be as good or better.

    How can I fix the problem of a pause before hearing the other party when using Bluetooth in my Lexus TX350. Both outgoing and incoming calls. I have to say Hello3 or 4 times to hear the person

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi!, If you are answering from the steering wheel or the main screen, it should connect right away, because the call is connected to the system on the car once you see it on screen and hear the ring tones. If that is not what's happening, I would recommend seeing your Service or Technology departments at your Lexus dealership to see if they can repair your phone or troubleshoot it for you with the phone in the TX to try to identify why your phone connection has a delay. Thanks for checking in.

    Mellisa Lexus Tech Specialist: Thanks for your great Tech Tuesdays videos. My 2023 Lexus RX 350h Hybrid Luxury model has the Remote Connect subscription turned on in the Lexus App, but I do NOT find The Digital Key in the App after I sign in. How can this be? Since I was only given 1 Lexus Smart Key at delivery due to Lexus Chip shortage they say, the whole family caregivers need to share that Hard Smart Key to drive the RXh. I am handicapped and need to set up Digital Keys so my caregiver Family can drive the car. The Digital Key icon is not showing up anywhere in the App like all your videos are showing. How can I add and get upgraded Lexus Software to fix this very dangerous lack of Digital Ley availability on my Luxury model with the 14 inch screen? Please reply to me. Spencer Rasi

      @NorthsideLexus  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Spencer, Thanks for your message here and on our web chat. I'm glad your Remote Connect feature is all set up. Keep in mind that Digital Key is an additional option and the hardware must be installed at the factory when the vehicle is built. It is not possible to add it as a retrofit item. I know that the semiconductor chip shortage has been very challenging for so many people and I'm sorry to hear that you are dealing with it as well. Definitely be on the look out for a first class letter from Lexus for the Service Campaign that will pertain to getting the second key for your vehicle. We don't have date for when the keys will be available, but they will notify you by mail. Please make sure to connect with your Lexus dealership about any concerns you have with your vehicle. Thanks again for checking in and I hope you enjoy your new RXh.

    I love my new 2023 Lexus and have been very pleased with everything about the car. I have had no issues with it until just recently. For some reason all of a sudden a message pops up every few minutes on my screen saying Enter Pin and then Reset PIN. So...I have followed the prompts but nothing changes. The message is still popping up every few minutes. In the meantime every thing else is working fine. I can listen to my book, listen to music, answer phone and texts. But then I have to close the message that is popping up constantly.

      Hi! No worries. The PIN prompt is a normal security check that will happen periodically. There is no need to reset the PIN if you already know it. Just enter the 6 numbers and the message will clear. Check out the first item in this short tutorial I did th-cam.com/video/-nIaDAoIjx0/w-d-xo.html. Hopefully that will help. 👍

      Hi! Unfortunately that is programmed at the factory for the country or region where the car is intended to be sold. There are some limitations based on the country or region that the VIN was built to be sold in. I hope this helps.

      @NorthsideLexus  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi. Thanks for checking in. There are two assistants on the vehicle if you have your phone connected for Android Auto you will use the Google Assistant to make calls. This is not a work around, it is a function of Android Auto. If your Dad does not want to use Android Auto then make sure to connect the phone for a Bluetooth only operation. Then he will just have the Lexus assistant and Lexus can make calls for him. I cover this type of connection in the phone section of the RX video you commented on as well. Hopefully that will help. Thanks again for being here.

    • @maxisenberg9093
      @maxisenberg9093 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @NorthsideLexus thank you for the response and confirmation.
      Respectfully I'd argue that is a work around instead of a function sinxe you cannot use one without disabling the other. Especially when his older Toyota had no problem with this. Connecting two assistants should allow more seamless integration..not dividing the tasks.
      But I suppose it's not really a big deal. It more that he's kinda forgetful and not tech savvy so it would have been more efficient for one service to provide all functions. Just seems like oversight for such a teach heavy car.
      But as I told him, it's rewlly just the initial setup that he may struggle with and after thwt he doesn't rewlly have to touch anything. We'll get used to it all in time I'm sure. He has the new nx350h. Way more advanced than any car I've been in
      Thanks!

    Hello there. I have a slightly different enquiry. Please help me out or at least point me in the right direction. I live in Melbourne, Australia. I have recently imported an almost brand-new Lexus RX450H 2021 directly from Japan to Australia. Now, although I am able to change the language to "English" quite a few other features aren't working in Australia like voice command is still in Japanese, Navigation is for Japan only, and the FM band frequencies aren't similar to the Australian FM band frequencies. I am also not able to sign up and add my vehicle in "My Lexus app Australia" as it doesn't recognise my car's VIN number, most likely because it's an import. My question to you is, what kind of software upgrade do I require from Lexus Australia, and will they do it for me? If they agree to do so, how much will it cost? Please point me in the right direction. Thankyou so much.

      Hi. I'm sorry I'm not able to help with this. To my knowledge, the vehicles that are built for a specific country or region can not be changed to the software and hardware for another country or region. Sorry I'm not able to help. Thanks for checking in.
