I love Husky but I'm just waiting to get my hands on a Stihl. I work on saws as a hobby as odd as that sounds. I love all the saws as long as it isn't a knockoff "clone" junk saw.
i was one of the guys that wanted to do this video i didnt think you would do it lol i run both brands but i grew up running husky 30 years ago i figured the husky would come out on top but i bet ya theres alot of people thought the 500 would whoop it i love both brands when i go cutting i take 4 saws 2 stihls and 2 huskys and the 372 goes with me everytime never lets me down compared to my ms460s but is i rebuild any saws id rather work on huskys they seem more basic to me great video Buckin oh we can forget tho there is sthil piston in that husky tho i belive so its not all husky it took to chainsaw brands and ironhorse knowledge to come up with a awsome saw
I just recently come across your channel. I’ve been cutting firewood and running chainsaws for about 15 years. I’ve learned more about saws in the week I’ve been watching you than in my years I’ve been running them. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos
I got my mechanic put an exile muffler on my 372xp OE. When he fired it up i loved the look on his face. A lot of fun to use that saw. The sound is half of it. No school like the old school.
It's great having your support Buckin' and also that of your followers. It's a lot harder to get the backing when you're from a small chunk of dirt the other side of the pond !
At this point it's more or less who you are a fan of. I'm a Stihl guy. But I don't hate using a husky. They are just heavy. For me personally the power to weight is better with Stihl. Husky is fast and powerful but heavy. I'll take a lighter saw every time.
Best way to test cut times is too not dig in the dawgs. Just keep the bar flat and apply whatever pressure is required or not required to load the saw for fastest cutting. And by keeping the bar level rught through the cut when u replay cuts as videos in split screen comparisons its MUCH easier to see whats going on. Just a tip, love the channel and content u work so hard to give us. God bless the BBR team, special thanks to the camera man, editor in cheif, visual fx artists, stunt doubles and the rest of the production crew.
Technique and log, technique and log, technique and log. What a great video ... was going to switch to a huskie before I tried my 500. I'm sill going to grab a few huskies! ;)
Man iron horse has got to be smiling about this video. I watched some of his videos with this saw and certainly some great results for a crazy experiment.
Flap all you want bud in the end I’m sure their is millions of people like me who cut all day and gets stressed out and to be honest when you flap away it’s honestly calming and I have learned so much from your channel it’s unbelievably stupid how much I appreciate your kindness to others and want to help others i just want to say thank you for just being who you are more people in the world should have a outlook on life like you
That 500i with that pipe is prolly the meanest sounding saw I ever heard!! And I don’t even own a Stihl.. I run Dual ported 365, 372, and lil 460 Rancher… .. THOU SHALT NOT STIHL, remember that!! It’s n a book somewhere.
Buckin, pick your best regular ported 372 and run it against these two saws. Would love to see how the 372 with a 52mm piston compares. Have a good one.
Gentlemen, we get to play with saws and wood all day ok. We’ve got it made and on top of that, we get paid. God is good. We walk into a bar and the chicks stop to stare and offer us a beer.
Billy, you are really looking great, don't know your age, but whatever. I'm turning 62 Dec. 5, and not really looking forward to it, but it is what it is, I'll deal as best as I can. Take Care. Chris Beck
Hi Buckin, that was fun and entertaining ! I do like my huskies but I'm not loyal to any one make, if they run nice and perform I like them! I have put many of Harvey's tips and tricks to work in my own saws and they are a blast to cut with.
Stihl 79cc piped and f.I. Vs Husqvarna 372 hybrid (86cc ?) piped and carb … purty close there but the Husqvarna maaaaaay be a fuzz quicker. 7cc advantage it should be …
Great video, I have a Rip Saw MS 400 C-M it’s an incredible thing. It’s hungry for wood and goes to 17K rpm instantly, it’s fast but I don’t think the torque is increased by the build. Looks like the Iron Horse is a bit faster but not by much. Thanks for more great content Bucking!
Both are some very cool saws to run that's for sure. Both are custom built also nothing stock going on here. Match these saw up with bucking legendary sharpening makes for very cool cookies. Keep up the live and great videos
Nice! I've never had anything against Stihl- I would love to get one. That said, it just happened that I've always just ended up with Husky saws and I have one in particular that has just blown me away with power and reliability.
That a interesting side by side comparison. And I totally get what you mean about comfort. I love my Husky chain saw for most things. But I like my Stihl battery power chain saw for up in the air work for its light and no pull start simplicity.
Good video Buckin... i loved my stihl 046 for over 20 years but now i want to try the 372 or 572. I love cutting firewood as well. Cheers from New Mexico 👍🏽
Love my stihl 441 036, love my 372, 394 husquvarna echo topping saws and a 620pw. That truck is awesome. Thanks for always being positive. Great video while it's cold and not much cutting going on up north.
Tbh it’s personal preference I have ran both saw but the most ripping saw I ever ran was husky 395 and it’s was imported but I will always go with sthil and my favorite saw is sthil 044
I believe that if you had the same chain fresh grind or hand filed the husky wins but looks equal with the husky having a chain that was used. Haha I think your hand filed beats your grind, Buckin. I have watched almost every video you have made. You file jobs are ripping.
Logger wade is funny dug fir ya when dry get a little but compared to dry bone dry white oak 2 different animals as you well know I am not knocking any thing you said or running it down now as for the saws well I like Harvey s saw and it also sounds better
It funny that they don’t make the same cc saw, the comparison is always the larger cc Stihl to a smaller cc Husky. Now that the larger cc was the Husky, the Stihl fans get upset. Even though these two are closer in cc than the 572 is. My opinion, I’ve run both brands Husky makes a stronger, more robust chainsaw. Husky has the air filtration figured out, Stihl has to run a goofy looking sock on the air filter. Husky came out with auto tune, they had to share the technology with Stihl for the m-tronic. I live in an area with no Husky support or dealers, and I still buy them over Stihl every time.
I thought m tronicl was born from the ms 280 cbqi which I think was first produced in 2006. It was called IEM. Happy to be corrected. I have both Husky and stihl and some echo. Love them all just they are better in different classes. I don't think one brand makes the best full range of saws.
Was cutting with a friend yesterday he was running a husky 562xp and I was running my stihl 362cm. I was impressed with his husky but when his saw was hot he had a hard time getting it started. We went over the obvious things but everything checked out. Any ideas? Ps. We cut alot of wood 😎
Love my 500i but I’ve always been a stihl guy. Love Logger Wade he’s about 30 miles from me I’ve hauled many loads of pulp wood into their mill, great family.
nicely done Buckin! and have a safe and fun time getting that cab, so looking forward to watching the crew cab get fixed up
Love your videos! Like you have taught us…sharp chains are the key!!
Exciting and adrenaline-fueled competition with chainsaws.
The two saws running in the split screen side by side is like music to my ears
I’ll keep cutting with my husky while you stihl guys are cleaning your air filters😂
Does a husky not have an air filter???
Might want to clean your air filter then😅
He’s making a joke because you can run a husky all week and not touch the air filter but the sthil is caked after a day
@@christilton350 yep, it's a joke.
I like cake
I love Husky but I'm just waiting to get my hands on a Stihl. I work on saws as a hobby as odd as that sounds. I love all the saws as long as it isn't a knockoff "clone" junk saw.
I never understood that brand loyalty and bashing the other brands, I love any powersaw that runs well and cuts simple as that
Mad bumblebee’s. Both saws are awesome. Harvey is smiling today for sure. 😅
i was one of the guys that wanted to do this video i didnt think you would do it lol i run both brands but i grew up running husky 30 years ago i figured the husky would come out on top but i bet ya theres alot of people thought the 500 would whoop it i love both brands when i go cutting i take 4 saws 2 stihls and 2 huskys and the 372 goes with me everytime never lets me down compared to my ms460s but is i rebuild any saws id rather work on huskys they seem more basic to me great video Buckin oh we can forget tho there is sthil piston in that husky tho i belive so its not all husky it took to chainsaw brands and ironhorse knowledge to come up with a awsome saw

Stihl 660 piston 91.6 cc
500i 79.2cc
Husqvarna 390 88cc
Good Job Buckin! Its a true comparison, the Husky does just as good if not better than the 500i. Still both are good saws.
79.2cc vs 86cc 88cc or 90cc ?
@@jcc3999 The husky is a 70.7cc saw. and the still is a 79.2cc stock. But their ported by Ripsaw. Both good saws and both are comparable.
@@JoelDunn167 Ironhorse used a 390 head and a stihl 660 piston in the body of the 372 no longer a 70 cc saw
@@jcc3999 oh ok, Good to know. Good point man!
True comparison? A 86 cc husky Frankenstein with a stihl 661 piston, vs a 79cc stihl with a stock piston.

They both are good I'll take the husky, Harvey's build is awesome
Love the husky’s!
Buckin, pick your best regular ported 372 and run it against these two saws. Would love to see how the 372 with a 52mm piston compares. Have a good one.
I'll be posting that comparison on my channel this week.
Just finished building an entire house out of Douglas fir. Great stuff!
You've got 15 years on me. And this why I am binge watching everything you have made. I'm learning how to do everything easier. Better body mechanics.
Gentlemen, we get to play with saws and wood all day ok. We’ve got it made and on top of that, we get paid. God is good. We walk into a bar and the chicks stop to stare and offer us a beer.
There is just something about a self cut and split full logstore. Non firewood folk look at you wierd. But if you know you know 👌🪓💪
Buckin, my Phants arrive in Arizona on Friday from British Columbia! The flew on Delta 😂😅 Thanks for the information as always!

buckins a 67 model i think
think hes 54?
He’s 54 and full of grit and gristle.
@@OOOOOO12345 that he is, I used to be, still down from my stroke
Ironhorse saw is nuts!! What a beauty!! Similar weights or is one noticeably heavier?

Welp Buckin we gat see the Mac 850 vs the 395xp now! You spoiled us!
About the same, both good saws
Cool shoutout to Logger Wade. I stumbled onto his channel a decade ago watching a video on a Serco Slasher. Hello from Ely, MN.
cuts like my XL 12
Must be a Super. 😉

Очень информативное видео. И полностью согласен, что мгогое зависит того у кого в руках окажется одна из этих пил.
Nice!
I've never had anything against Stihl- I would love to get one.
That said, it just happened that I've always just ended up with Husky saws and I have one in particular that has just blown me away with power and reliability.
Me I like Stihl and Husky saws . Looked like the 372 was about 1-2 sec faster.
Seems like buckin leaves the stihl a touch on the not sharp side. Or smashes a few extra cookies with it before the big races
Nice saws both of them.Stay safe...
Great job editing this video, Buckin! I am sure that took some time.
Can't wait to watch this one tonight.
From aussie
They are both absolute RIPPERS!! Be nice to see how one of your old Macs or Pioneers would compare. Old vs New.
💪🙂
It's all good. Cool stereo with headphones on. Oh, and Ironhorse was faster.
That a interesting side by side comparison. And I totally get what you mean about comfort. I love my Husky chain saw for most things. But I like my Stihl battery power chain saw for up in the air work for its light and no pull start simplicity.
great production work with the side-by-side views
Good video Buckin... i loved my stihl 046 for over 20 years but now i want to try the 372 or 572. I love cutting firewood as well. Cheers from New Mexico 👍🏽
Good show billy ray Cyrus 😊
How do you pick one, they both perform so well!!!
Great video Buckin I’m a 500i fan , but both are great saws . Cheers
Not sure which I like more Dueling Banjos or Dueling power saws .
Well, since I don't play a banjo.😂
Go watch the video with dueling McCulloch’s. Oh baby. Nothing better.
I timed the cuts. Husky was faster by about a second on both logs
Thx pal .. Which says a lot about the 500 cause ironballs builds power.

that ironhorse saw is awesome.tneir was not so much different
G'day Buckin, it just confirms the old saying there's no substitute for cubic capacity 👍.
It was close but I think the husky took the win
down on edge strength and tree gets bigger toward lower 😂
What do you like more, old Ford's or Husqvarnas?
What happened to the Mcculloch “Mac” content?
I’d take the Mac content over anything else.
He was running some old Macs in just the last week!
They're both singing together. Husky all the way! Lol 😊😁
Nice video Buckin. The Ironhorse is a crafty son of a gun. He is a well rounded builder.
Have you ever run a Simon Wright(worked at C&L in Campbell River) ported 372 Buckin?? These were the original 71cc version.

If you were to force my Husqvarna 576 autotune it would pull you over the log. I have a Stihl 500i and it is ok but nowhere near the 576. period.
Good evening friends
Who cares its all for fun. A goodsaw is a good saw if it suits you and your circumstances. Chainsaws are fun period. Love you Buckin.
How do you feel about the ms462 or a 572, witch one would you pick? I think I know already
great info! fun! and nice haircut 🙂
Boom Boom!! 💥 💥 Getting it done...

That ol ironhorse can build a heck of a saw
Both saws but the rip saw 500 sound really Snotty😎excellent!
Lovely pair of saws ! Winner is the owner
Husky for the win
I'm buying Iron horse builds. 500i is overrated
Interesting chain of events, i saw what you done here ....lol good show wood man . Later
Maybe old school vs new school next? Mac 10 vs similar sized saw.
Looks like they're about evenly matched.
Be a blast to put one of those motors in a lt80 or something.
