I had a call from a friend one day who was all wound up cutting a tree so I went over to help out. He had a poor notch and back cut and it had set back towards his folks house. Tossed a rope up in it and set up above his cuts while he maintained tension on the rope. I got her all cut up and casually walked out to him and said lets pull it over. She came over as nice as you please and he said I can'r believe how calm you were to wit I told him it doesn't help to get all worked up and panic. Stay calm and think clearly it will help you stay alive. Good show all around there Buckin!
@@osagejon8972 I tell myself all the time when I start gettin wound up on a job “i am not in a hurry, i am at peace”. One more great tool I have picked up from Buckin
I started watching your channel since I’m clearing 40 acres of land by myself. I realized as blessed as I am I may have missed my calling. When you talked about the joy you experience at the end of the video I knew exactly how you felt. It was the exact feeling I had doing the same thing today at the farm. I’m told old to start a new career, but I’m enjoying the hell out of what I’m doing.
Its been a few years since I started watching your channel. I was cutting a bunch of firewood and selling it and doing some tree work for friends and family. About a month ago i was helping a group of neighbors widen out a road so a ditch could be put in and there were several 14"-18" poplars that needed cut down and i had an absolute ball with it. Notching them and laying then right next to the road. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of what you do.
That quickly became one of my favorite videos. Staying calm, every time I cut, I have to remind myself to do so and I swear I can hear ol Buckin in my ear. Love a good wedge video. Sending some of that calmness to you and the family💪❤
You are the man. I love the old school simplicity as compared to today's bizarre array of ropes and bells. Old school logging/ faller at his prime best.
Buckin billy. Awesome ❤. Ive done more cutting and chainsaw milling than the average guy. I'm a Subaru logger.logs on the roof, and loaded to the nines. My saw sits in my front seat cause I can't stuff any more wood in it. Ive burned up a saw and have gone threw chain. All self taught.with no utube. 5 years later you taught me how to properly sharpen a chain. And then everything about chains to follow😂 😀. How to tune a saw! Obviously ive needed help in that department. Lol I love your channel. Really means a lot to me. And love how you explain things yet keep it simple. I don't know what to say. I voukd ramble on for quite a while how you have upped my knowledge (hence enjoyment) through your channel. Can't Thank-you enough. Very appreciated. Subaru Logger
Looks like you called it and hit your marks again. Well done! I've been keeping current with the pop situation. We are remembering you and him in prayer daily.
Nice job Buckin' ! I've seen too many guys identify the lean and then assume they can just cut until it falls over. Every cutting plan needs to include when to stop making the back cut. Every size-up needs to include looking for branches that can interfere with the cut tree's initial movement forward. Keep preaching about the subtle things that can mess us up!
I really enjoy seeing you having fun Buckin. Scotty Wilson is a good friend of mine and they don't come much better than him. Love the guy. Praying for Pops Buckin!
Great Video. The 572 is King. Nice job on the Tree Falling. Just got 2 new Mufflers ,Dogs ,and a Wrap around Handle put on my 462.201 has new Muffler . West Coast Saw makes my 201 sound like a 200 T. Thanks Buckin.
I just want to say that the joy in your eyes and in your voice are proof enough you are doing what you were meant to do. Great job you are an amazing logger and even a better person! God Bless and have a great day!

Boss at work, nice Buckin I haven’t had any time lately(twenty + years) knocking any over. Love them fur and the smell, with my dads small logging operation…. Miss the old man…🌲🌲🌲🪵🪵🪵🪵❤️ Love ya Buckin and ur awesome channel…..
Hi Buckin. We have a character here in Australia. Russell Coight. AKA, Rusty Coight. Russell could really benefit from watching your videos. It would be certainly safer for those within 100 mtrs or 100 yards of any activities he undertakes.
Hey Buckin once again top of the mornin to ya from Jazza the Junk Man in the beautiful Huonville Tassie ✌️Love ya work brother ALWAYS educational 👍Stay safe watch out for the widow makers 😎🙏💕
Nice work, do you ever leave a thicker hinge on one side ? So when it starts to go ,it'll pull a bit more on one side ,think I did something like that many years ago felling/falling, when trying to get leaning trees to fall/pull away from where they naturally want to fall? Nice tidy work by the way, perfect. enjoyed the video, my back is getting sore just watching you de-limb😮😂
Hey Buckin! I got a question, any tips on lining up the two cuts that form your notch? I only cut firewood but I try to utilize the Humboldt cut so the tree breaks less and I get a square base on the tree. I have a hard time lining up the cuts when I make the cut the angles up. I usually end up with a gapped face and it works but it's a bit to get there. Definitely not as slick as you pros
So what you do is with those 2 trees is you get a length of chain, climb up let's say half way up both trees, chain the trees together with enough slack that the favorably leaning tree will be 2/3rds the way to the ground when you cut it. Have the "rear" tree cut with just enough hinge wood to keep it standing while you cut the lead tree down. The lead tree falls and gives the rear tree a hell of a yoink and the rear tree falls on to the lead tree. I've never cut a tree down so take my advice with that in mind.
I bought one 3 years ago for 1200 got a 24-inch bar on it for Chainz 10 files and I've only used it for maybe 20 hours but I made sure I drained the gas
I know You know your stuff, but with these leaners I get nervous, excited. After all these years watching You, it still is amazing to me how you get those things to swing right where You want the! Pretty good camera work Eh!
Nice job brother!! I'd say they called in the right "feller" for the job😊😊 ya make it look fun, and easy💪💪😎🧡 prayers for your dad man, much love from the Barth household
Hello Buckin Hello Buckin Community 😎😎🤝 Nice to see you. Hope you doing well and that your dad is ok. And now i watch your Video😉💪 Stay healthy bye the friendly Guy😎
Whats up billy. Just found your channel. Fantastic videos. Im a lineman and im wondering if you think climbing poles will transfer to easy tree climbing?
You might have saved yourself some energy with a double cheek cut for the leaner. Fallers here rarely buck logs to length, but that's because it's sort of a 1st job for the new guys to learn what they're doing. We do limbing however.

If the tree could talk, might it have cried out: 'Don't drag me home, I don't want to see my mother?
