- My last day skating at Atlantic Beach NC skatepark. The weather has cleared and its beautiful. Working on the fakies up different transitions with varying degrees of success, but overall had a great session today even with a very painful knee.
YES!
Hi, I'm also out of my city and obviously bring my roller blades with me. Now it's a part of my routine.
It was great to have them with me and I enjoyed the time skating, but there is no place like the home park!
This is very inspiring, I hope I'm still able to skate when I'm in my 60's.
Have you ever considered using a normal urban skate for just cruising around instead of aggressive skates for skatepark. It wont necessarily replace the adrenaline rush of going up and down ramps - but having bigger wheels makes cruising a lot less effort and easier on the joints. I originally started skating just in skateparks as a kid, but these days I really enjoy finding some smooth asphalt paths to cruise around on
Thank you! Yes I have thought about urban skating and in fact am looking into some different frames for that purpose. I recently purchased a cruiser type skateboard from the local used sporting goods store for that very type of shift in skateboarding as well. As a kid I skateboarded around a local grocery store parking lot for what was probably thousands of hours and loved every minute of it. Hopefully can capture some of that feeling again. I definitely won't stop skating the parks, but maybe I can get some pain relief on the days I just want to skate and don't want all the risk associated with the parks.
I love all the content you put out, just wondering if you've done any recreational skating on bigger wheels (80mm plus) seems like you're in a good area for some general cruising!
I have not, but am seriously thinking about it. I need something to give me a break from the pounding I take at the skateparks.
@@theaverageoldguy my thoughts exactly and I'm only 40! Give your body a rest from the slams but still enjoy the flowing feeling skating brings.
