The new switch is a hardware update to prevent homebrewing/jailbreaking/modding. If you want to do any of that get an original.
Literal Lee you have to buy a switch that released some time before last year because there was a silent revision to block home brew, you can’t tell because there is not a different model number.

Unless you can get your hands on a switch from that time, you're shit out of luck till another exploit. Best for you to do now is buy a switch and never update it
@@rayproductionsbackupchanne3862 You can often find old unpatched models on ebay for 150~180 bucks, deff not cheap because you get nothing other then the console, but that's your best bet. It also works well if you already have a patched one for online.

The headphone jack is one of the hardest things to put into an electronic considering how much space it takes up inside especially with phones that already have limited space

This "new" SKU of the Nintendo Switch is using the updated _Mariko_ components which is more power efficient. It leads more better thermals (i.e. runs cooler) and also the battery is more efficient therefore having more battery life without increasing the capacity of the actual battery.
If they can make a Switch Pro with the Tegra X2, 512 GB internal storage, and maybe 12 GB RAM... Switch games could all run way faster and at a higher graphical fidelity.
We do need something like a hefty update with he PS5 and Xbox Scarlett coming.
Perhaps then, I'll get myself a Switch.

Developers won't be able to overcome the performance difference without a switch pro. Imagine porting ps5 games to a small 2016 tegra chip and somehow making it work. Not every game is developed by panic button.
For that better get an iPad Pro which has literally an i9 equivalent
@@AlejandroGonzalez-rw9kt cpus aren't much of a problem tbh. Switch performs better than phoned cause of the on board integrated graphics it has. The switch's cpu side of things is pretty weak compared to the recent snapdragons.

The Switch's main issue is the CPU like the PS4 and PS4 Pro, and Xbox One and Xbox One X.
With the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett, they're going to be updating the GPU and RAM (obviously), but the CPU is what's getting a major upgrade.
In that sense, I think Nintendo is going to have to make a Switch Pro with *at least* the Tegra X2 at its core.
It'll be the same as the current Switch's Tegra but with more capable specs; things that will drastically help the Switch get ports of PS5 and Xbox Scarlett games and also being able to playback existing Switch games but with faster load times, better resolution, etc.
It's why I have not bought a Switch yet. Though I've always been a PlayStation gamer mainly since the original PS, and before that I was a little kid playing on the SNES.
The SNES was the last Nintendo console that I owned.

A few key things I want to know:
- Have they fixed the "battery bloating" issue?
- Have they fixed the issue where the grille vents of the Switch or any other part of the damn thing is falling off, cracking up, or flaking off over time due to normal use?
There are chances - regardless of the new chip - that they still kept the same board and materials from the older models. And if so, then there is a *"slight"* chance that the hidden issues that plagued the older models will crop up - and it's only a matter of time under normal use for it to show itself that will vary per user's definition of "normal use".

I highly, highly doubt a switch Pro would be able to game at 4k. 1440p? Maybe. 4k is just too far, improved graphics at 1080p is more likely
If they’re smart they’ll shoot for 1080p 60fps standard for all their games. If they’re dumb like Sony and Microsoft they’ll try to make it 4K.

When is this switch being released, if it's already released where can you get it?
Just for ya to know:
The tegra x1 is slightly customised for the Nintendo switch(it has been downclocked to 1.2 or 1.3 and 1.7 docked for better battery
life.
Originally the clock for tegra x1 was 2 and 2.1 ghz
So, the CPU clock speed is 1GHz, and the GPU clock speed is around 450MHz. I have my Switch modded and my CPU is comfortably overclocked to 1.9GHz and my GPU to around 900MHz. The fan is pretty loud however the Switch is still cool. This does make me wonder why Nintendo didn't push it higher because it can definitely be done.
Or, you could use a Slick Wraps skin and change the color for cheap

1:25 if you take the stick apart there are graphite pads that pieces of metal rub against on the board that shows the position of the stick. The graphite gets rubbed off and the powder gets into different places which gives false readings of the stick position. There is no fixing it it needs a redesign.
The only reason why Austin is not reviewing the note 10 is just because it doesnot have a headphone jack
You may not hear about it, but the controllers are actually different. They re-routed the antenna on the PCB so that the controllers no longer loose connection for no reason. Also the CPU is actually cheaper to produce, so they can produce more of them, and potentially enable retailers to do better bundles in the future.

Yes, afaik now it's impossible to Homebrew the Switch with this revision due to software and hardware patches
That was the whole point of this revision. To update the chip to avoid the previous one where it was modded, pretty easily actually. They even used the same boards from 2017. Looks like they were cleaning out inventory.

For those who may be confused, this is what a Hardware Revision is. They won't notify you what they changed, rather they will file a document and ship the system.
A hardware revision is not an a sequel or a pro edition. Just a change in hardware.

One person who just recently disassembling it. They saw that the connector inside it was switched down onto the bottom for maybe less connecting problems, and the Cpu models were a bit different also. Not a whole lot, but tiny improvements.
Old switch = jailbreakable, moddable, hackable. New switch = nvidia exploit patched.

There is no escape, you can only try to make his life span longer.

Nintendo's claims tend to be pretty accurate. I just did a video testing the claims of 3DS battery gains in display "Power Saving Mode" versus normal mode.

I could still see any game that is also getting a PC port to still get a switch port, after all if they are making a PC port they still need to may high vs low settings options anyway to maxamise the player base on PC so the Switch will just keep getting ports of the "low" graphics setting. only it will still look a bit better then the lowest settings just due to being optimized for specific hard ware.

It’s actually the same processor, just shrunk to 16nm i believe. Shrinking it down makes it consume less power and possibly gives it more headroom to clock higher.
They could actually push the clock speed MUCH higher than it is right now. I have Android installed on my Switch, and I have the CPU and GPU speed completely doubled. It gets a little hotter, but the main difference is that the fan is always on now, and is quite loud. Whereas normally, the fan doesn't come on often and it doesn't spin very fast. I wish Nintendo would push it further.

joe nodden I disagree “SECRET” is an appropriate title word considering the fact that this version of the Switch was soft launched without Nintendo formally announcing it to the general public. Other than the box being a different color there is no way the average person would know that one is better than the other. So in that way it is a “SECRET” Switch.

For the switch pro they should turn the dock into something like an external graphics unit. So it has a dedicated, let's says, rtx 2070 super in it, or you can get a lower price card like a 2060 super in it, and when you dock your switch it upscale to 4k graphics.

Imma get this switch. Mostly cause the switch i got doesn’t hold up for long hours. It usually ends up dying when i use it for 2 hours on handheld mode. I am not a fan of that.
