I use a USB card reader to back up my captures to my server and my Xbox's media storage. I use the Switch with my Xbox One's HDMI pass through, so I can still watch the captures, and I can use multitasking with the Xbox. It's the next best thing to having native support for things like Web browsing and Spotify.
Was going to comment this when I saw the video! Very helpful for saving battery on the switch itself if you arent always using internet, saving data and whatever other reasons you may have.
*FUN* (sad) *FACT:* The 3 games franchises where the players spend more hours are exactly the 3 games that the Cloud can't save. Splatoon 2, Pokemon and very likely the next Animal Crossig. I recently have lost 12 years of Pokemon (teams, my first initial ever, almost 600 PKMN of a LiveDex) in my 3DS only because Nintendo lives ages in the past with the cloud saving...
If you have the console updated, tap the Home button twice to zoom in on the screen. This works really well in games, too. It obviously isn't convenient when playing, but it can be very useful for reading text when you don't need to move (in menus, turn-based games, etc). For instance, I was playing Mortal Kombat 11 in handheld mode, and had a hard time reading what the tutorial wanted me to do, or how to unlock certain skins etc. No problem! Just tap Home button twice to zoom in, and now I could read the text easily enough.
Change your Account Region to the Region you wish to purchase a game in, buy the game you want with PayPal and set it back to your Region. Worked for Russia + Enter the Gungeon
@@Sean-D78 probably not because airplane mode does not work like that in phones at all, and most people will assume it works the same as on their phone. Not to mention, you can access airplane mode through the quick settings menu. You don't need to go all the way into the regular settings menu. Plus, it's actually kind of odd that you can have wireless stuff enabled when airplane mode is enabled since the whole point of airplane mode is to turn all that stuff off. I don't know why they just didn't added separate toggles under wifi and bluetooth instead but it's Nintendo. They don't always make sense.
Oh snap! I just tried it out out of curiosity, I seriously didn't know about this throughout the 2 years I had my Switch! Now I can save battery life and still use my Pro controller wirelessly!😄

Switch Players only care about tons of good games. Ps4 players care about pretty good graphics and pretty good amount of amount of of good games. Games are supposed to be fun. Small correction: The Find Controllers feature doesn't require them to be turned on; they just have to be in Bluetooth range. The Switch will automatically turn them on if they aren't already.
Don’t you just love how the Switch doesn’t come with a thick instruction manual that gives you a lot of details? Because I don’t. Whenever I get a new console game I ALWAYS read the manuals first so I understand everything that I’ll need to know about the thing I bought. (I loved the instructions for the 3DS...it was very informative.)
Set the RGB range to full instead of auto. It normally stays in limited when set to auto and looks Way Worse with a truly limited color range unless set to full
I like the features to zoom in on the swich.. You can turn it on in system settings. It's originally intended for zooming in on small texts, but it can be useful in games, too ;>
When you are looking for a controller using find controller (joy con or pro controller) it doesn't have to be turned on. The switch will actually turn the controller on if it is turned off
This is what we need - folders -wider screen -themes -internet browser - Netflix - no joycon drift - good eshop - and a great online services - more features. - powerful enough to run next gen games - good graphics
Something to note with #1, Find Controllers can also attempt to turn on controllers if they're in range of the switch, and after they turn on you can vibrate them like you can the rest of the controllers that are on.
@@raincastmusic joycons have notoriously been known to have a problem with the analog stick giving commands with no input, so like your character will just walk in a random direction or your cursor will just start moving by itself
Thank you so much for the calibration tip! I played a lot of Mario kart and my left stick got stuck pointing forward slightly so sometimes if I’m not touching the controller, the character will walk forward slowly. I just figured I would have to live with that.
If you want to get rid of a lot of the jaggies and a bit smoother image get the usb device called the Mclassic. I was shocked at what a difference it makes. It’s not massive but def better and noticeable and also can be used on other systems.
When you know all of this bc the first thing you do getting the console is dig thru the settings to find out rely on and learn as much as possible about it.
The "Find Controllers" option also saves already paired controllers and tries turning them on and then vibrating them, not only connected ones. Doesnt work that reliably but its there
Rookiemovez1 I don’t recommend it if you’re buying it for one or two games. Personally I got 3 games on my Switch and after I completed them I put the Switch on the shelf collecting dust. I’m picking it up again soon though.

It’s a great system and I love everything about it! That being said I only bought it because of botw😂 so now it’s collecting dust. There’s alot of games. Because the system sold so good most developers are moving thier games to the switch and developing games for it aswell. Personally I just find games too expensive, if that’s not a problem I would recommend it. The battery life isn’t bad and the graphics are probably better than what you’re expecting 👍🏻

Number 9 is just straight up wrong. I know it’s anecdotal but I just got my switch back from repair and it had all my saves. And when speaking with a Nintendo rep on the phone they confirmed if they had to replace the console they’d transfer all the save data.
Danger Snek Oh man the only card I have was a used copy of BOTW so I thought the reading issues just came from it being used. I got a 124G as card so I get everything digitally, but that’s a massive issue for people that get physical copies, Jesus lol

Thanks for the information, I ordered the animal crossing version couple of days ago. I am as excited as the kid with the N64. I allready bought a 124 GB micro sd card, the pro controller with mario odyssey and a screen protector. And I'll make sure to install it before docking it. 😉
Can you tell in more detail how to set it up? I have a bluetooth adapter but the indicator light on it doesn't light up when i plug it into the switch, also don't know how to setup an xbox controller to it. Would be greatly appreciated.
@@Lolingtoner plug the adapter to a USB port on your dock then go to your system settings and controller and sensors and have your pro controller wired communication to on so it can read it even though is wireless it should work then do your usual pairing method on your controller then push the button on the USB adapter to pair it and it should work if it's wireless hope this helps
@@Lolingtoner I'm using a 8bitdo wireless Bluetooth adapter it's compatible with nintendo switch cost around $20 make sure your adapter is compatible with your switch

Nice video. Just a couple of points: #9: (about pressing A three times to unlock) You can turn this setting off altogether so that you only need to press A once to unlock. #2: (about having the Switch come on and off with the TV) I think this only works on newer TVs or TVs that support the option. My TV is from 2009 and I can't find a setting to make this option work.
The only thing I didn't know about was maintenance mode. I've had to open up my Joy-Cons to install aftermarket replacement parts *three times* already!
In the "TV output" menu (settings), there's something called "RGB" if you set that to "Full range", your image quality will significantly improve in most cases
No. It totaly depends on the settings of your TV. If it does not Support full range, then you will get a phenomen called "Black crush". If you set it to limited while your TV expect full you will get washed out colors.
If you have a wireless adapter, you can also connect an XBox or PS controller to your Switch while docked. You can also use an OTG cable to connect a controller to the handheld mode. I use my XBox One controller on my system.
A lot of people don't seem to know that you can actually turn the Switch off, not just sleep mode, to save battery life. Hold the home button until it allows you to enter power settings (not when docked).

I've got a tip if you dock the switch to a TV and the TVs screen is smaller than the switch screen that's being shown. (if the screens being cut of a bit by the TV size) then you can go to settings and edit the size off the screen so it fits the TV to you liking.

I think you can save it to the micro sd card if you have one and then transfer it to your computer via that micro sd with an adapter

You can customise what airplane does. If you still want the wireless joycon you can keep that on but stop it from accessing WiFi.

Very useful video, these "settings" are completely hidden and i didnt know even one of these, especially the being able to use headphones on a switch.

Yeah that has been getting really bad it has started to really annoy me it was tolerable at first but now I just use the pro controller.

There’s an accessibility setting that allows you to zoom in and scale the screen, it’s pretty cool.

Danger Snek Man that sucks. I buy 80% of my switch titles physically and personally I haven’t had that issue. Maybe I’m just lucky, but either way that really is terrible though. Have you had it happen to yourself at all? I haven’t heard much about it but you’ve got me intrigued

Thanks for the information, I ordered the animal crossing version couple of days ago. I am as excited as the kid with the N64. I allready bought a 124 GB micro sd card, the pro controller with mario odyssey and a screen protector. And I'll make sure to install it before docking it. 😉
Another cool tip buy a Bluetooth wireless adapter and you can pair a ps4 or Xbox controller to play switch games but doesn't work with all games
Can you tell in more detail how to set it up? I have a bluetooth adapter but the indicator light on it doesn't light up when i plug it into the switch, also don't know how to setup an xbox controller to it. Would be greatly appreciated.
@@Lolingtoner plug the adapter to a USB port on your dock then go to your system settings and controller and sensors and have your pro controller wired communication to on so it can read it even though is wireless it should work then do your usual pairing method on your controller then push the button on the USB adapter to pair it and it should work if it's wireless hope this helps

#9: (about pressing A three times to unlock) You can turn this setting off altogether so that you only need to press A once to unlock.
#2: (about having the Switch come on and off with the TV) I think this only works on newer TVs or TVs that support the option. My TV is from 2009 and I can't find a setting to make this option work.
That tv power state thing was a useful tip. Will make sure to turn that on now

In the "TV output" menu (settings), there's something called "RGB" if you set that to "Full range", your image quality will significantly improve in most cases

It totaly depends on the settings of your TV. If it does not Support full range, then you will get a phenomen called "Black crush".
If you set it to limited while your TV expect full you will get washed out colors.

You can also activate zoom on the switch by pressing home twice it's pretty useful in games

If you have a wireless adapter, you can also connect an XBox or PS controller to your Switch while docked. You can also use an OTG cable to connect a controller to the handheld mode. I use my XBox One controller on my system.

A lot of people don't seem to know that you can actually turn the Switch off, not just sleep mode, to save battery life. Hold the home button until it allows you to enter power settings (not when docked).

I've got a tip
if you dock the switch to a TV and the TVs screen is smaller than the switch screen that's being shown. (if the screens being cut of a bit by the TV size) then you can go to settings and edit the size off the screen so it fits the TV to you liking.
