Bullitt Group has gone into administration and all staff have been laid off. The service is still being ran by the satellite provider (Skylo), but there is no support from Bullitt for account, contract, app or product issues, as there is no-one to provide support. I wouldn't be putting my money into this until there is a statement that someone is taking over the responsibility of these parts. As of yet, there's been nothing for almost 2 months.
There are a couple of phones with Bullitt satellite capability built in, I bough Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra for about $340 - OK for a rugged phone. Same app, works the same way as the Defy, just built in the phone instead of a separate module. Working fine as of May 2024. I got an email from Bullitt that they had been acquired by another company, RCD 2023 Limited, and the service continues.
Looks interesting Ray, but I think that I will keep my GPSMAP 67i. Albeit the 67i costs 5x more, this motorola device may be a good low cost version IF the company is in operation, i.e. customer service, warranty, software updates, etc.
I appreciate the review. I'm looking for a beacon. You hit two BIG things for me that I didn't know about. The bankruptcy thing bothers me, but the tracking is a must-have.
I’ve been looking at that device because it’s monthly plan prices to very appealing compared to my Garmin inReach. If it goes on sale again, I may buy one to try it out. I hope they get the tracking feature on because that’s what I really love about my Garmin is not only is it a communication device but I can track GPS and route with it as well. Keep us posted on if that tracking turns on because that’s probably when I would be in the market for this device. Thanks for the great review and overview. I’ve wanted to know a little more about this.
@@Hike-ALOT yessir. We just wrapped up tracking class today. Southern terminus area of the AT. These guys did great. Final test was tracking me 600 meters. 38 minutes. Outstanding!! Elijay Ga if familiar. Got to meet up with Bill from stokermatic this evening for dinner. We have things coming for this region.
Yes sir definitely familiar with it. Very nice. We are gonna have to get you out here to Texas to do some stuff soon. Giles and I were talking about that the other day in fact. You two gents behave….ish.

Yeah I’ve been trying to keep tabs on what they are doing but there hasn’t been many updates. It’s always unfortunate to see stuff like that happen.
What about the Caribbean can it work?
Looking at the coverage map I see online it shows it’s covered.
I bought a defy November 23. Bullit bankrupt.
We’ll see what happens
That’s the exact same for me. Hoping for the best over here.

Yeah mine is still clipping along just fine. I’m pleased with it.

Yeah that’s the part that makes me nervous….which sucks because I was really excited about this device when I first saw it.

I’m glad you found it useful. Thanks for checking it out.

I noticed it on sale earlier today on Amazon for around $115. That’s easily the cheapest I’ve ever seen it.
Over from Dave's my friend with a big hello from me! Great channel, looking forward to watching in 2024. Warm wishes from Millionaire Paul 👋
Thanks for coming. Much appreciated Paul.
Got this works well. Excellent review
Good to hear. Thanks for checking it out.
That would be good to have
It was definitely nice to stay in contact when the cell networks were down. It’s a permanent fixture inside my truck now.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! Much appreciated.
Awesome review
Thanks! Much appreciated Dave.
I think I'm gonna do it
I will be curious to hear what you think.
I’ve had good luck out of mine but really just don’t put yourself into a need for it.
Yeah that’s always the plan. Dang AT&T put me in the bad spot the other day. I was glad to have it then. It has served its purpose so far.
@@Hike-ALOT it’s not a bad item to have at all. Stay safe brother!!
You too brother. Take care of them over there in GA. SC/GA was my old stomping ground.
