Hi ! I’m a french student in English Litterature, and your Vlog appears in an English Book in a unit about the Western genre ! Your are becoming a piece of English litterature 😂 Congratulations 🎉
It's cool a young man like you has a passion for historic ghost towns. I'm 67 and love this kind of stuff. I've been wanting to go there over the last few months...but the virus has come our way. I wanted to stay at a local motel...I'm not sure I can trust how well the hotel rooms are sanitized regarding the virus. I will make it there eventually. I really enjoyed your video.
Thank you so much! For what it's worth I have done two mini road trips through Gold Country during the pandemic and had little contact with anybody. Just front desk to check in. I felt pretty safe since I stayed apart from everybody around, but that is up to you. All of the facilities are taking precautions. Hope this ends soon so we can all enjoy without the extra worry! Thank you again for the kind words.
Thanks for your input on staying in motels during this pandemic. Four years ago I took a Gold Rush tour alone (I'm single) beginning in Nevada City then heading south on Hiway 49. I did my tour over two car trips and ended in Mariposa. I visited every museum, points of interest, and local shops and businesses and stayed at the National Hotel & Restaurant in Jamestown...originally built in 1859. Great history. Have you been to Virginia City, NV. or Death Valley. I think you would love them. If you go...be sure to make a video for YT.
That sounds fun! I've been just taking a couple day trips to do videos, but honestly I try to space it out. I don't want to grind through and run out of videos to do! I keep some in my back pocket for later. I have been to Virginia City, it's one of my favorite places. I have a huge list of Virginia City videos to do this year but the pandemic put a hold on it. My cousin recently moved up to Carson City so I have an outpost up that way haha. Hoping to do Death Valley as well but I've never been there. I also have a list of videos to do up and down highway 395. I just have to work full time while saving up money to go on filming trips. Definitely more videos coming and if you haven't yet we have a whole Playlist of gold country and wild west videos we've done. Thanks again for the kind words and the story!
Great episode! I love the western era of America! I visited Calico a few days ago which was awesome and hopefully I’ll make my way out at some point to Bodie...side note those shades are fresh!
Thanks man. I absolutely love Calico and have been wanting to do an episode there but haven't had the chance. I haven't been there since I was a kid but it was one of my favorite road side pit stops.
So Dope Dylan......It is so cool to see a history place that is somewhat up to date like you said with the windows. Another place for my checklist to see!!
LOL! "Full Blown Commode" Someone must have had an explosive movement :-D This was an amazing stop; I love old history like this. Well captured and entertaining. Great job and thank you for sharing.
I first found out about Bodie from a 1988 music video called "Don't Know What You've Got Till It's Gone" by Cinderella. Took me 22 years to finally make it in 2010. Really cool place.
80% of the video was shot at Mono Lake, but towards the end they get some B-roll footage of Bodie! The video has 113 million views. It was a popular song back in the day!
@@nevadahiker6661 I've heard that song before! Just watched the video, how cool... thanks for the heads up. We've been trying to get over to Mono Lake to do some episodes too
I read a book called Big Bad Bodie about 10 years ago. I had no idea so much of it still remained and in such good condition. Im a Brit so will probably never get the chance to visit, but it's great to finally see it. Very cool
That's awesome, I'm glad you can at least experience it a little bit here. I really hope you get to see it someday, and all the old Bodie stories are great, we will be touching on more in the future.
I was feeling sad that I couldn't make the trek to Bodie this summer, and I stumbled upon your video. This was so much fun to watch! I'm glad you had so much fun exploring my favorite ghost town. I just subscribed. :)
Hey Craig, thank you! I have a giant list of things in my phone to film, I just don't have the money to always do them so that's why it goes so slow. Trust me though I want to do a ton of similar episodes and have many planned already! Thanks again and hello back from California!
Me and my family go to a place called Mammoth. We go to bodie all the time! We’ve always explored it to check it out. It is very interesting! I love seeing it all! :D
A bit of a urban legend place I know is actually way away from here, its in england staffordshire. Its basically about a chained tree that has a curse. I might type more about it later but I'm lazy lol
My girlfriend and I sat agents the wall by the gas pumps. 27 yrs ago it brings back memories of her .she's gone now but still in my memories. And this town
Every time I see a picture or a video of a piano in one of the buildings in Bodie, I have to wonder could one of those pianos have been played in one of the saloons back in it's heyday. I heard somewhere that the one in the Oddfellows hall was actually taken from Bodie before it became a national park and then returned. Could that have been one of the saloon pianos. I think it would be cool if they did a movie that revolved around Bodie during its boom period and it also makes you wonder did the Earps pass through here at some point?
My favorite place on earth. You should invest in some books in the bookstore and read about certain people that lived there it makes your visit that more magical
Hey bro I recently discovered your chanel, so far very legit and awesome. I'm a San Jose Native from the Bay I appreciate all the videos you have done. Looking forward to more. I have an area you would love to tour and videography. I no longer live in California so it makes me miss my bay area.
The shootout sequence that you imitated reminds me of modern day in the black jungle known as Chicago. LOL the modern-day wild west gangster style. Am I right?
Well Chicago is kind of a concrete jungle tbh. Not the same kind of “Wild West”. If anything this resembles more of a prototype San Francisco. They both boomed for the same reason also.
Good question... it's a State park so I would guess it falls under whatever their regulations are. The rangers are very friendly so I would just ask them. That would be a really fun place to do that though.
Bodie is a place from the past. We start going to Bodie when .My late father -in-law told us about it.He said when there was people still live ln Bodie And our to youngest boys was 14and 12years old. That was in the 1970s. Been there when was a little snow on ground and. 2 wild Donkeys running. Around. My son's men now .IT WAS REAL COLD BODIE HAD PUT ON a Jacket to keep warm ..Pease if you want to see very nice ghost town. I'm going to Bodie, you will never. Forget it ,you will want to go back. and back again.our family taken there family too.we. been there alot of times. Sorry so long.
Wouldn't expect most of it to be original since it doesn't have any deep waves or ripples and these buildings were built when glass windows were still blown. Still cool there is glass.

Visited Bodie last year, this video brougth so many memories back. Hope I can come back to visit one day
Glad to hear that! We have some more Bodie things to do besides the two videos we already did so hopefully restrictions are eased soon!
One of my favorite 'sodes of all time!
I've been to many places like this..."to realize...humans like us...used to live like this...I have appreciation for them.
Always, I appreciate our history
We could all be so lucky to have our final place of rest protected by law.
That’s awesome. Thank you for sharing💕

I have lived in CA my whole life, and only recently even heard of Bodie! Definitely want to go now.

I wonder if that would be a great place to shoot a Hollywood movie??? Lol 😂
Would be great, maybe I can make one someday haha
I just wish I lived in the 1800’s to experience that time
Would be nice to see it in all it's glory
San Diego Fleet rumored to return in a league called MLFB. Would go to a game if the fleet returned?
Definitely! We had fun at the one we filmed. I want to go to St Louis for the XFL
I wish I could post the picture, but I have one of me where I'm sitting in that "car" at 7:46 back in 1989.
Awesome! Was it in any better condition? It's partially part of the earth now 😂

where do you find these places ? i think this is so cool and im also from the bay area
Bodie is pretty well known as it's a national historic site. Others we find various ways, word of mouth, internet, etc
Underrated video
Thank you! That means a lot

I want my epitath to be, " Chris died. It was quite the ride. Think about your own mortality and don't be snide."
That's a good one. Now I gotta come up with mine haha
..buried in a ghost town. Wow!
This is one we have to do. We can camp
It's the best!
Is metal detecting allowed in Bodie?
Good question... it's a State park so I would guess it falls under whatever their regulations are. The rangers are very friendly so I would just ask them. That would be a really fun place to do that though.
That was prolly the best spot i've been to
