My favorite place on this earth. I have photographing it for over 40+ years. You might want to let everyone know not just anyone can be there after dark. You must be in a photography group, and get passes. They are rare and you have a large responsibility and must follow many strict rules. Basically you can not disturb anything including the dust. I have been in many of the buildings that is an great honor.
Man, I wish I could go. Love the old west.... I worked in the desert of Nogales, AZ many years ago. It was there that I first saw the Milky Way and the 7 sisters star cluster. That was 20 years ago and I haven't seen a sky like that since...
"Now we're in the graveyard, looking for miner ghosts. Not young. In the gold mine." Classic! I am so jealous of you being able to see the stars and Milky Way. The light pollution on the East Coast makes it virtually impossible to see it. Thanks for another fun episode Dylan!
That's the best! I love the squeaky sidewalk...lantern light makes it I. Yup getting out if the city to see the stars is amazing. Thanks for the amazing adventure!!
I remember the first time seeing the milky way camping out in San Martin Ca! Same feeling you had! Just pure amazement and fascination aswell as humbling! Great episode bro!
Great video and thanks for reminding me of my past. I'm a 67 yr. old retiree and will be going to Bodie, CA...very soon. I love to see how Americans...lived back in the day!
That's a good one. It was also on my ghost town bucket list. I finally was able to spend the day in Bodie a couple of years ago. What a really cool place it is. Thanks for your video.
My neighbor that died 25 years ago was born in bodie and left when he was 18 and never came back because he came from a broken home and he told me the whole town was addicted to different types of prescription medication so everyone was high and drunk every day all day long
Pretty new to Bodie history. This is the first I've seen any of the cemetery is on this video. There are a couple of Bodie groups I follow on facebook but I haven't seen any photos of the cemetery.
So Dope Dylan........It looks good at night too. It would be awesome to see a ghost or something right? The open house you went into was pretty cool has well. Did they have the dead has well....Great video Dylan like everyone you had made.... I miss every Thursday's.
I’m from SF too and have always wanted to go here! Have you been to Grass Valley? You would like it there since you like the gold rush stuff. Really cute main st area with a haunted hotel called the Holbrook and there’s a cool mock town of the gold rush days in Rough and Ready on their little highway. (My grandparents live in rough and ready.. it’s a cool weekend trip, 3 hours away from SF :)
Funny you mention it, I have a list of things in the Grass Valley area. Have been trying to decide which trip I wanna do first after quarantine and that might be it!
Sometimes when they say ghost town it really means no one lives there! Not necessarily have anything to do with Ghost! But I would live here forever if I could! 🙏❤️
People: You will be cursed if you take something from bodie like dirt or rock Me: So if you step into the place, you are wearing shoes, and your shoes will touch the ground, then the dirt will stick on your shoes. So is anyone that stepped into bodie and took nothing and got cursed cause of the dirt?
I am not sure about the electricity then, but there was definitely telephone and telegraph poles along with a small closed circuit railroad that is long gone.
Would love to see the new ballpark... Going to miss the old one but at least we got to see it and make a video before it went away! Eventually we'll see the new park
So cool, I've been blessed in my life to live in Grass Valley, CA and Michigan so I could see stars at night..... Everyone should experience if you haven't already!

This night was open to anybody. Pre-pandemic there were 3 late nights a year. But yes this place is magic.

Bodie at night is awesome. I'm so glad they stay open late sometimes. Not many places you can go like that at night.

You will not be disappointed. Go early, best in spring and fall. Take water, and prepare your self to spend the day.

It was a ton of fun. There were hoards of kids and flashlights everywhere because it was a holiday tho.
It's like 3 nights a year, try and make it happen it's worth it
Grew up about a hour drive away from here and would visit 4 or 5 times a year... definitely recommend checking it out if you get a chance to...
Can't wait to go back

Good paradox hahaha
Whats with the power lines though? Was there electric back then?
I am not sure about the electricity then, but there was definitely telephone and telegraph poles along with a small closed circuit railroad that is long gone.

Clearlake? As in California
Yes, Clearlake, CA. Back when I was a kid it was my first experience seeing a full night sky.
