By feeding the hornet honey and wax, are you not training it to come back or send her workers back to attack your bees? It seems like that would be establishing a food source.

HERE IN NORTH AMERICA most Asian insects are invasive and destructive and we have nothing that eats them. @pachicore because they don't do much for the ecosystem. They aren't great pollinators, they kill native and domestic bees who are. Also they are big AF and nothing that big should have a stinger-ouch!
Queen is getting trapped and when it is finally released, it goes to back at the same spot where it got trapped in the first place. Without stingers these would have died ages agoi.
I have an orchard in North US and it`s cold here when fruit trees are in blossom. Honey bees are hard to find but big black carpenter bees are here and will help pollenate . Not as good as other insects though.

Because hornet don't really priotize honeybee over other insect. Hornet literally goes after any insect and it's very essential considering that it is a great pest control. Hornet can masaccre honeybees but they don't really just honey bees. So yeah attack on bee aren't that high, like probably 1-2 times a year or never

And were bees are humble and almost defensless compared with hornets they are a easy snack. With as a bonus compared to other wasps and hornets there is also honey!
Japanese honeybees are not as productive and tend to abscond their hives more often. Since the ball technique only works against a few hornets they’re prepared to flee somewhere else if hornets attack in numbers.
Japanese bees would flee from their hive if they can't defend it against an attack. A non native species just flying to the wild would not be good for the ecosystem

Most beekeepers around the world would have killed the hornet queen so it couldn't make a new nest and threaten "their" bees. Hell, in Canada the Coast Guard used to shoot birds of prey with machine guns to "protect" the fish stocks . . . so people could eat them.
Yeah it's kinda messed up... Especially with the amount of fish we kill wastefully by catching and it's not like a bird of prey is gonna take too many, hell the bald eagle is the symbol of America lol. Predators kill predators and we're predators. We use bees for product and strip freedom so in a way we're no better. But then again Asian Giant Hornets in other parts of the world are invasive, and an argument can be made that these control the population of eusocial insects, that being said bee numbers aren't great and they are vital to our survival and a function ecosystem for pollination. If anything it's miles apart from any moral argument of them deserving to exist, we DON'T live in a natural world anymore we have so much control. And as long as we have water, air and sunlight we'll remain on top. So controlling something that actively destroys what keeps us alive is fair enough.

Native North American pollinators are also endangered by this hornet, not just European honeybees.

Carpenter bees go around the outside of the flower and do not pollinate.
