I ask the same question that was asked over 40 years ago when lead shot was being banned for waterfowl hunting here in the States - where are all of the dead birds that have ingested this lead ? Answer , nowhere. We do have a real problem though with invasive waterfowl that are eating up the fish here. Cormorants , pelicans , etc. are devastating the fisheries and absolutely nothing is being done about it. The authorities are addressing a non - issue while completely ignoring a real problem. Sounds about par for the course for the so called government experts. Finding a pellet in the wild for a bird is like finding a needle in a haystack. No evidence of this at all - to the contrary , I've NEVER seen so many invasive and pest species birds in my life compared to today . If only our government could get them to eat some lead. This guy has missed the trick: make lead free pellets in the same weight as the lead ones and there should be minimal difference for accuracy and effectiveness for hunting small animals.
It’s not as simple as that because not only is lead very dense and heavy but it’s soft enough to grip the rifling of the barrel without damaging it and it’s relatively inexpensive to produce.
Yesterday I posted eactly as you have stated here, on another channel that features a very famous air gun legend. The only possible silverlining of this stupid ban perhaps, is that people would stop using the underpowered sub 12 ft.lbs air guns for hunting/pest control. I have argued for the legal limit of the power to be raised for years, citing the advantages of the flatter trajectory, more accurate shooting and much more lethal impact enegry ( for the ususal legal UK airgun quarry ) which in all makes for more humane kill without raising the danger to the public by any significant amount. In any case, it is a stupid and unnecessary decision.
Not sure about sub 12 been underpowered for hunting ,it takes only 3 foot pounds to kill a rabbit with a head shot ,its more about getting in close field craft and skill ,sadly lacking in todays shooters more concerned with shooting off a bipod with a massive scope at daft ranges . Ive shot lots of Rabbits with old Webley mark3 and services all giving 10 foot pounds using open sights ,its all about getting in very very close
@@fieldsportcymru4636 yes, I agree if you got very close the sub 12 would be effective, but how many people do or is it really that feasible? The lethality of a sub 12 gun is marginal at 45 yards, if the shot was not 100% in the kill zone. Too many ifs and buts, and not fair to the poor animal.
@@lensman5762 10 or 11 ft.lbs at the muzzle is plenty to cleanly dispatch a rabbit at 50 meters if it’s hit just behind the eye. That’s not to encourage 50 meter shots because it’s always best to get within 30 meters to make certain.

UK is apparently no longer in the EU
@@SD_UK so they say
There's me hearing the Tory shout of "we are leaving the stifling influence of the European Union"...so it WAS ALL BULLSHIT!!!!
Watch out now Charles is stepping in,he’s big time part of the WEF control agenda.
It won't happen for air guns

10 or 11 ft.lbs at the muzzle is plenty to cleanly dispatch a rabbit at 50 meters if it’s hit just behind the eye.
That’s not to encourage 50 meter shots because it’s always best to get within 30 meters to make certain.
@@redpillnibbler4423 I can kill rabbits pigeons and pheasants extremely easy with a catapult, and even easier with a 1977 WEIRAUCH hw35 putting out 11 ftlbs , fieldcraft is key

I love the HW35 it was my first ‘proper’ gun,I was out target shooting with one yesterday, still a truly great rifle with very easy cocking and lovely breach latch.11.5 ft lbs .22 using superdomes and very accurate.I put up a rabbit target in the garden at 18 meters and getting most shots in ragged one hole group just behind the eye from standing position (freehand)
My catapult marksmanship on the other hand is shite so I wouldn’t risk hunting with it.
