Cool technique and a very full sounding bassline. James course on sonic Academy on how to make uplifting Trance is still the best tutorial I have seen to this day on the topic. Please more from James dymond!

Great video, but I can't get my kick and basslines to sound as powerful and punch as hard as they do in this video.
I notice you didn't go through the processing you have applied to the Kick&Bass (Channel 2). I see 7 plugins on that channel, applying more processing on top of what you go through in the video. Would it be possible if you could elaborate on what's going on there in Channel 2?

My question is: if you want to make a chord change after the breakdown, what do you do with the audio basslines.

Basically, for each bass audio layer, you make a unique instance for each key you plan to have the bass play in. Then, in each instance, you go to the audio channel menu (In FL Studio's case, that's the 'Sample settings' tab in the Audio Clip), and make sure they all use the same time stretching mode (again, with FL, you want to make sure it's set to 'Stretch', rather than 'Resample' or 'Auto'). Finally, for each instance, you want to turn the pitch up or down the various keys you want them in; for the sake of timbral preservation, make sure the pitch shift is ±7 semitones (e.g. pitching an audio clip up 2 semitones is preferable to pitching it down to 10 semitones)

@@UnfortunatelyTheHunger Thanks for your answer, i really appreciate it.
Anyway, I think is a very complicated method if your chord progression has more than 4 chord changes for example .(sometimes you need to move up or down more than 5 semitones). On a more techy style i think it works cause almost always after the break the drop stay in the route note of the key. On a more melodic style like uplifting trance or progressive i prefer doing everything that needs a note change on MIDI.

Some good tips here however IMO way too much going on, so many layers for essentially just a baseline. Also no explanation of the sub channel which is very important. So in summary for me this was overkill.
