    Hi Chris,
    Nice and informative video mate. I was that guy across from you that day that had the issues you mentioned. My wife somehow spotted a hairline scratch (approximately 4cm) on the front left bonnet. The Tesla team took it away for about 20 minutes and it was all good. Unfortunately we found another issue with the inside trim that couldn’t be fixed on the day. We have scheduled for a support person to come to our place this week for a mobile repair service, which is pretty convenient.
    Keep up the great content and hope you are enjoying your new Tesla.
    Btw - I hope the pics I took for you came out ok :)

    This has been the single most handy video I've seen in regards to the delivery day and experience. I really do appreciate this video Chris. Can't wait to pick up my Model 3.

    Another thing to check is how clean it is, as looked clean, till we started to look at corners or where panels meet, it was covered in Red Dust/Dirt. Also under the frunk near the Wipers it was dirty too. The next is to check how clean the glass is inside and out, even use the wiper washers to see if any streaks left on glass, or circles. Then check the sound system Speakers do not rattle when turning up volume. Check the rear seats fold down and are clean in the hidden parts, also the seat belts fully extend and return without roughness etc. Turn on heating and check for any smells, including all outlets allow air flow, then cooling to check it cools. How door close after you leave open for about 2 minutes fully, to see if they drop a little. After all that I woudl suggest you get the car Ceramic coated as this will fix any swirls in the paint work and protects the paint better.

    Even though I'm expecting my delivery of my Atto 3 soon, much of this is good info for me, thanks Chris, cheers!

      Does Tesla check these things when they receive the cars from China?

    Looking forward to seeing some more Tesla Content Chris. How is the good fight going against the draconian tax that has been imposed? You have our support from us up here in QLD.

    Happy driving Chris. I will be keen to hear if phantom braking is a problem in your car. It's a significant problem with my January 2021 Model 3. Best wishes.

    • @chrisvanderstock
      @chrisvanderstock  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I've experienced it once so far, for no reason too! I'll try repeating the drive later this week and do a software update video as the auto high beam is still an issue!

      @@chrisvanderstock I do regular 300 km highway trips at 100 and 110 kms/hr and I routinely have phantom braking at least once, sometimes twice, on each trip. It's very annoying and unsafe for cars following behind. My Model 3 has the camera and radar system - whereas yours would have the newer camera-only system. I had hoped this would eradicate phantom braking, but not so apparently :( Hopefully it will happen less frequently for you.

      My 2019 Model 3 just had the update that starts using the vision-only system. I haven't got any phantom braking so far. But then maybe I haven't driven a lot. Found it to response better when people cut in front of me.

      @@chrisvanderstock The vision-only update on my 2019 model 3 brings in the auto high beam as well. if it bothers you in some area, you can turn it off by pushing the indicator stalk forward. but it's on every time you engage the autopilot.

    Hey Chris, thanks for the informative video. Out of interest who did you find the most favourable insurer for you? We've looked around and at the moment Allianz seem to be the best but still over $2300

    • @chrisvanderstock
      @chrisvanderstock  ปีที่แล้ว

      For me, Budget Direct. I guess it varies on so many factors, its always hard comparing insurance prices. For us, we paid $1,400 for a year with them (Tesla Model Y, brand new September 2022). They almost always go up in price as cars age, so I'll be curious to see how they price it for the next year.

    Thanks Chris for the content in Video. I am based in Melbourne and struggling to get a good quote for insurance, and I need your advice. I am currently with GIO, when tried AAMI it is cheaper but not having choice of repairer. Which one did you pick and does choice of repairer is important ? Knowing that AAMI won’t use any repairer that risk warranty, which means they will use Tesla, I think.

    • @chrisvanderstock
      @chrisvanderstock  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      we ended up with budget direct, but its hard comparing apples to apples. we didn't bother with choice of repairer as I figure tesla make almost all components so who ever does it will have to fit them anyway.

    • @szoghby
      @szoghby 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisvanderstock be careful budget direct has a limit for accessories you add on vehicle though. They said they have a limit of $1k PPF even if your PPF cost more, it is $4k full front so only $1k value is ridicules, same with anything else all goes by limit, you can’t just increase the agreed value.

    As much work, if not more, than buying a used car. It shouldn't be like that. Just saying.

  • @phileasler5401

    Yes, don’t buy one horrible or no customer service, horrible parts & repair history, below quality build status, fudging on epa estimates, but beside that a wonderful car/company
