The compact folding one is my favorite because I have small hands. I just with it had blade storage. I was able to pick up the compact one and the full-size fastback with blade storage in a pack together for like 20 dollars.

I just got the combo pack for $14.97, and see that the reason for the compact not flinging quite as easily as the larger one is because the release button is a lower profile, so you tend to only partially disengage it. If you push the button in further, it will have the same action as the larger one.
It's only that the higher button allows you to more easily push it to full release.
To each their own.... I prefer the compact size knives. I keep a compact in my pocket everyday and I'm looking forward to the compact sideslide. I'm not cutting shingles or carpet though, I prefer something that's easier to keep in my pocket.
That's why I carried the Gerber EAB Lite, it has the smallest footprint and carries low in the pocket. I just misplaced it after years of use, so I figured I'd try something new to justify my misplacing it.
The carbide blades are the ones to use, they maintain the edge significantly better than the standard ones, and don't need a he-man grip to use as a result. Compact when it's more about finesse than brawn 😉
Funny watching this review just after I'd whittled my choice of Milwaukee knives down to the same two that you did.
The final choice for me was the Fastback Flip with blade storage. Mostly because the store didn't have the 6 in 1 in stock. Then I discovered the 6 in 1 has plastic handles which turned me off.
The 48-22-1503 combo at 14.97 that I just ordered and like as the best value, including the compact fast back and the larger standard fast back. Combo has the
48-22-1502 Fastback Knife with 5 Blade storage and the 48-22-1500 Fastback Compact Knife together in the pack, so it's basically a free compact.
I was considering the one with the bit holder but got scared off by review comments saying it broke in short order. Delicate design apparently, so it needs to be used carefully.
A lot of people don't know but on the flip utility knife when you go to install a new blade you do not have to be holding the button to install a new blade and therefore you can hear a click after pushing the blade in confirming that it is locked in place.
Currently you can pick up the 6n1 and compact for 19.97. Or if you like the new Camo compact knife blade, it can be included with the 2 above for 44.00.

1505 - can't beat having a 1/4" drive screwdriver that can be used with socket set.

The 6 in 1 beats all the others hands down for me. I’ve no idea why he never mentions the awesome lockable and universal bitdriver which is so convenient, a joy to use, can be opened and closed one handed when you close it on your leg and is just such a useful thing to have in your pocket, maybe with a small pouch of bits, as I do. Nearly doubles the usefulness when away from your toolkit

The Fast Back knives do NOT have a plastic body, as stated. They have strong and durable plastic scales over steel liners, just like an Ontario Rat, only better. This makes them strong, slim and durable and grippy. The steel liners may in fact be stronger than the kind of alloy that gets used for the 3D die-cast handles.

I think I'm going to check out the 1511, because I have the 1500 and don't really like it that much because I hate the flick out action which I find annoying and stupid.
I don't think they really make anything particularly left hand friendly, but I will have to check out the compact slide utility knife.

The point of the fixed bladed knives is stability of the handle and serious real estate in the hand

What knife did the 1510 replace? The knife it replaced was much better than it is.

Not a construction worker. It's the 1505 for me as a win. Basic cutting tasks & a bit driver. Mainly use the slotted screwdriver for light prying. Blade use for single use plastic packaging.

You see sir it all depends on what job you do, I work in a warehouse store work picking orders for shipping etc, receiving orders, opening boxes and bags.
