I had a sheltie when I was younger. He was the best dog I've ever had. He was the runt of the litter. I'm a sucker for the underdog. But let me tell you, way smarter than me! Fortunately, he did not contest my authority. He was perfectly happy being my 2nd in command. I loved him so much! He lived to be just under 16 yrs. I will never forget him!

As a Sheltie dad that lost their fur baby recently this year, I can certainly say that they really are one of the best family dogs. My boy gave me 15 years of love and care before he passed in January and I will never forget my precious sable boy
My Westie of 13 years passed away about 2 weeks ago. It’s so hard to lose a family member and best friend all at once. My deepest condolences. 💜

So nice to see a Sheltie! My childhood friend had a Sheltie, and she was a great dog. She would sit between the seats of the minivan when her mom would drive a handful of us home from junior high, and we'd love on her.

I really hope your kitty get feels better soon. Vanessa is a great teacher, she explains everything so clearly and thoroughly. My sister’s kitty, Cleo, had diabetes and she was able to manage it for a couple of years w/diet and medicine from the vet. (She even cooked special meats for her for a while, Cleo was 14yrs old at the time - an elderly little sun spot hogging diva. She was a beautiful tuxedo kitty, so tiny, like a little ballerina kitty. I loved her too.) ❤🐾🐈⬛ :)

Adorable! My first dog was a sheltie, and she really was intelligent, great with kids, but reserved/wary of strangers. We grew up together, so she became extra protective whenever we went on walks--and gods, was she EVER a barker. It's been 14 years, and I still miss her like it was yesterday.
Twyla is an absolute beauty, and what a singing voice! Lol. I'd love to see more shelties among your clientele. They really are fantastic dogs.
I grew up with a sheltie/Aussie mix and he was the best dog ever, couldn't have asked for a better friend.

Shelties are super smart! I had one whose favorite thing was going on car rides and she would ALWAYS know when we were about to leave. No matter how stealthy we tried to be when she needed to stay behind she would pick up on the tiniest of clues. She almost never barked, however but had strong herding instincts. Sweetest, most loyal dog you ever saw. Miss you April.
My first sheltie was so smart, when we wanted to take him for a walk we had to spell walk bakwards 🤣

Grew up with a sheltie. Absolute sweetheart who would do anything to protect us kids. Dad felt perfectly comfortible leaving us kids on our own for a few hours (we were in double digits but just) because Emmy wouldn't even let birds near our yard much less anything bigger.

We always had Shelties and LOVED them to pieces! They’re THE BEST doggos, and loved us, as well as the neighbours doggos. The three of them (Sheltie, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever) were besties and spent many happy hours at our house. Much to our delight!
So CUTE! At 26 seconds she came out of her daydream, looked at the camera and licked at the camera very casually with just the tip of her tongue - not even stressed. "We cool"
For years we took care of a sheltie golden retriever mix. Absolutely gorgeous and a sweetheart of a dog-what was less gorgeous was his habit of barking at everything!
Her singing is beautiful, but she's not a bad dancer either.

So cute. Makes me sad tho- currently going through end-of-life with my little girl. Every time I see an active, happy dog I'm struck with the change. I know quality of life is a big factor, so we're going to have to make the decision soon; we're giving her every chance and possible care first. Please pray for us, and other owners at this time in our pet's lives!

Bless you and your friend. As difficult as it is, you're giving her the best gift it's possible to give. A wonderful life and the chance to escape when it becomes the opposite. I've had to make that decision too many times, but the love and joy exchanged is more than worth it.
Thank you to everyone. She's still holding on- still won't eat (syringe feeding) but loves her pets, sleeps a lot, and doesn't show any pain. But she isn't getting better, and responds less and less each day. But I know we gave it our all, so. But thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
And yes, we will be there. We have a small-town vet, he will come out to our car, so that she doesn't even have to visit the scary clinic when it is time.

I love love love Shelties. My partner's little sister has a sable one named Cody and he's one of the best dogs I've ever had the pleasure to be around. I've had a few too many run ins with badly trained dogs that it's left me wary of them, but I can not only comfortably be around this dog, but I can also play with him without fear of being bit or hurt in anyway. He's just so polite and so happy. Definitely loves to talk and if you fall behind on a walk, he waits until you've caught up again.
He's definitely lazy as heck though, he did agility courses, but he did them at HIS pace haha.

I got a sheltie puppy when I was pregnant with my first child, he's 23 now and Maxie ( our sheltie) passed away at 16 when my son was in middles school. He was the best dog I've ever had and I still miss him and think of him often to this day. He was so smart and both my kids taught him funny and silly tricks, like where is my Achilles tendon? Maxie would place his nose on the back of our ankle every time. Our friends and family could not believe it and would die laughing. He learned basic obedience in minuets like it was woven into the fiber of his being. Always so gentle with the kids and any other kids that were around and we always had a house full of kids for him to have lots of fun with. Loved him so much, he was like my third child.
