  • LEDTherapyLight... Dr. Thomas Burke shares his background in blood flow, and how it led him to Near Infrared Light Therapy, including healing difficult diabetic wounds, and damaged brain tissue caused by concussions and other traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Burke goes into further detail of the process of Light Therapy, its benefits, and how it may be used to further increase the efficacy of medication in problem areas of injury due to the increase in blood flow.
    Dr. Burke lists other disorders that may benefit from Near Infrared Light Therapy's benefit of blood flow increase, including PTSD, ADHD, and Alzheimer's.
    The FDA clearance of the Light Therapy allows physicians to use the Infrared Therapy pads in a wide range of uses.

    My knee was swollen to twice its size due to arthritis and continued walking on it. I bought a Far Infrared FIR sauna from Costco. The first day I only used it for 15 minutes. One thing I noticed upon coming out - my swollen ankle (as a result of the swollen knee) had been covered by a visible network of veins. After 15 minutes of being in the sauna, I noticed the blue network of vein over my foot and around the ankle was no longer visible. Also, the network of visible veins around the swollen knee appeared to be less. Continued usage for the next week, and next showed me how the visible network of veins got reduced. I think this was due to better blood flow after using the FIR sauna. There were other beneficial results, but since this video is about blood flow, I am sharing this experience I had.

      Far Infrared does not penetrate the skin as it is used for heat only.

    So why don't they use this in hospitals??

    • @Ledtherapylights
      @Ledtherapylights  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Drugs are the way for pain relief in hospital settings. Let's hope that the use of light therapy is coming soon to medical settings. Chiropractic and Physical Therapy clinics do use it regularly for pain relief, increasing circulation and neuralgia/neuropathy. Other wholistic practitioners such as massage therapists and acupuncturists also use light therapy but more acceptance is needed.

    Can infrared light therapy help with nerve regeneration ?

    • @Ledtherapylights
      @Ledtherapylights  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20358337 It is generally agreed by users and researchers that both near infrared and red light is restorative - jump starting the body's self healing of many tissues. Nitric oxide plays a big role in this. The study link is on this very topic.

      @@Ledtherapylights it certainly helps to provide the ATP that can be used to regenerate nerve cells, so its the power providing / unleashing of NIR that helps there, you can stimulate it further with electro-stim, devices like the Interx and FSM devices. when applying always apply the negative pole on the extremities, the hands or feet, this negative potential stimulates nerve growth.

    • @Ledtherapylights

      Generally speaking yes. These light therapy pads do not have any aspect that would interfere with a pacemaker, they are pulsed light only. However, it is always advisable to check with your medical practitioner to make sure it is advisable for your condition..

      You can get protective goggles to eliminate any risk. Try searching for them online. The search term "laser goggles" could work. Look for the type that is similar to sunbathing goggles that just cover the eye for the most cost-effective solution. The sunglasses type is quite a bit more expensive.

    I have loved doing the red light therapy for several years now at one of our local spas. My problem is in Novembers 2015 I had a sub massive bilateral saddle PE with DVT which was diagnosed as being the problem of having FactorV& II. What is your option on still doing red light therapy? I did ask my hematologist and he was not really familiar with it.

    Hello,
    First of all thanks for the amazing information. I am looking for a Light Therapy device to help with my Knee pain due to Osteoarthritis (Broken meniscus & bad cartilage). I know that a lot people use LED Red light for face skin rejuvenation, so I was wondering if this devices are good for both things or do I need to buy two different devices? I've been reading about this technology to see if I need to by two separate devices, but I am a little confused.
    Thanks in advance for your response.

    Hello LED Light Personel, can IR therapy be used on scalp for hair improvement?

    • @Ledtherapylights
      @Ledtherapylights  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Kketansa Art Both red and infrared light are commonly used to support circulation in the scalp. Red light is a shorter wavelength than infrared depositing a lot of it's photons in the deeper layers of the skin, supporting circulation where the hair follicles are located. With our led pads, the same pads that can be used on the head and scalp can just as easily be used for pain in joints, the back, or elsewhere, or for increased circulation anywhere on the body. Another interesting use is pre and post workout. If you have more questions, please contact me through www.ledtherapylights.com

      LED is the type of bulb used. There are various colours of LEDs. The white light at the back of your mobile phone is also LED.
      Infra red is the color of light. Which can be generated through various bulbs covered with deep red glass(of prescribed colour density). Generally halogen lamps are used. What you are trying to get at cheaper rates must be the infra red halogen lamp. Yes it will work good. :)

    • @Ledtherapylights
      @Ledtherapylights  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Many people get great results using LED light therapy for the symptomatic pain of neuropathy. Infrared is one type of LED (small bulb) and it is a powerful and penetrating invisible wavelength of light. It opens up circulation quickly in the area where it is applied, allowing the body's own self-healing to kick in. Lack of circulation is the big factor in neuropathy pain. Our boot pads are designed to give therapy to the leg and foot to increase circulation and they contain both red LEDs and infrared LEDs The pads strap on and are easy to use. Contact me through www.ledtherapylights.com if you would like more specific information for your mother.

      the higher the number of the wavelength, the lower the total energy, and the safer it is. so 450NM (blue) is more dangerous than green, 532nm. red is less dangerous than green, but has more energy than infrared. generally infrared is safe to use on the eyes, and is also used to treat macular degeneration.

    • @Ledtherapylights
