I personally like Samus' white alt more than her Dread armor but if they replaced her second alt (the one that looks like her dread armor) with the new one that would be sick
Your arts made my Link be astronomically better, and was just recently thinking of when were you going to make a Samus Art of. I have a feeling I will love this video. 🔥
Just to complete for full Charge Shot on hanging edge opponent. For Samus you can also hit (all during animation at the edge): - Mario - Dr Mario - Young Link - Wii Fit Trainer and for Dark Samus : - MinMin - Squirtle - Pirahna Plant - Banjo & Kazooie - Mii Brawler - Mii Gunner - Mii Swordfighter By the way, this is the most interesting and complete video about Samus ! Really nice job !
17:55 Even though you don’t verbally mention it, I’m glad you show that up throw is a good kill option in certain situations. You’d be surprised how often it comes in handy against heavies.
One thing you'll see a lot of if you watch quiK's Samus is how good her up smash is as an extension of her ledge trap game. The initial hit has a hitbox inside Samus's body, which can catch opponents as they roll in from the ledge. Her arsenal of ledge trap options makes her pretty good at conditioning their ledge getups, and up smash is a fantastic read punish.
Thank you for including the clip I sent you! :) Great work! I even learned something new, as I didn't know that Samus has 7 less frames of endlag if you hold down after a bomb.
Great guide. That bomb pressure offstage is awesome, but when you don't have the skill to do it, most of us short hop bombs off the ledge. Not as efficient though so I'll be practicing.
Solid ass video my dude I actually learned a thing or two. I’ve gotten pretty darn good but recently hit a wall especially with quick play higher tier opponents. I recently entered the 11,750,000 bracket in elite and it has shown me I’ve got some cleaning up to do when it comes to some of my moves. They charge shot cancel to teather is what I’ve been trying to figure out for like ever as well as grab into back air constantly. Thanks again man
There isn’t a lot of updated guides for Ultimate’s Samus, but yours is very clear and got a lot of super informations applicable at all level of gameplay! Super work as always!!
I've been watching this video and the zss one over and over and now I actually hear your voice while I'm playing. You sir have earned yourself a new client . I know feel like I have a strategy when I'm playing.
Samus has even more ledge options than the ones listed. Here's a few: -jump and immediately zair. This catches opponents standing at ledge-rolling distance, charging a smash attack. -jump and immediately charge shot. This catches opponents anyway, and is even safe against reflectors. Be careful with characters who absorb projectiles or charge with counters. -drop and screw attack, holding down. This catches opponents who stand at the edge and hold shield. Potentially shield breaks. -with most stages, you can go under the stage and grab the other side. This avoids major setups the opponent was trying to do. Be careful though - this counts as regrabbing the ledge, opening you up to a two-frame. -double jump, zair, and cancel the ledge grab by tapping down. This can catch your opponent off-guard, especially if they've been conditioned to you zairing the ledge and actually grabbing it. From there, you can up-b to ledge, air dodge, or punish them with an aerial. Obviously this is over a year after posting so people probably know this stuff anyway. Still thought this was a cool video though!
Your videos have all been incredibly helpful and informative! Do you think could add a small section on optimal shield break punishes? It feels like the only thing missing from these incredible guides Thanks for all the work you do and the professional quality of every video!
One thing i would suggest Samus players do with bomb is pressure platforms by quickly jumping on them, dropping the bomb and then sliding off as the morph ball animation ends. That way they can pressure the platform and the space under it with an aerial at the same time.
You can also fast fall through the platform, then lay a bomb while you're passing through it. If you time it right the bomb will be on top of the platform and you'll land below it.
The best thing about this particular Art of, not including competitive players but it shows how so called Samus mains don't fully take advantage of her skills, I'm not great with Samus but many times I've challenged myself to not rely on her projectiles and see how much I can do and honestly I never knew her charge shot could have so many combo options because all I ever see people do is charge shot to grab
One thing I would have liked to see mention is how her charge shot's release from mid charge is the fastest. Being Frame 3 means that your opponent literally could never hope to get away with neutral get up and roll at ledge without being caught on reaction with ease. This conditions them to wait out your charge entirely or jump predictably. Conditioning them to wait out charging at the ledge just to cancel into dsmash, dtilt, utilt, or another bomb at ledge is very strong.
A little known difference between dark samus and samus is that dark samus' missiles spawn slightly farther away from her than samus. It's not much, but it makes homing missiles slightly faster at reaching opponents with dark samus, useful for platform tech chasing
I learned how to play Samus in a single night. Not extremely well and polished, but well. My buddies didnt want me playing her anymore. I could keep both Little Mac and Sora off the ground and map. They got me all the way up to like 335% or something, and I continued to move back onto the map. Samus's maneuverability is unmatched with the morph ball. I do wish we got a DLC skin for her Dread outfit and Metroid Suit. I adored the Metroid suit.
Its technics like this is the reason why Samus is more respected amongst cheese zoners. Art of Palu also preety cool with the teleports but there is cheese thre though. teleports are risk asf.
This sounds a lot like I play but with tons more bells and whistles. I had no ideal about the subtle control bomb rain at ledge. I don't attempt b reverses cause online lag might make it not worth the misinput risk, but i do double jump forward air attack suddenly to catch high opponents even while charging and drifting back in mid air. I play around the same stregths of ledge trapping and threatening with charge shot. I might just have to try loads of cheeky stuff seen here like sniping from below ledge from the opposite end of the stage.
it's so nice that Samus with a suit is finally on the same level (if not better, but that's debatable since they play so differently) than ZSS. Always felt weird how she loses power when putting on the suit.
since they were split, the idea was to make armored samus a defensive type character, while ZSS an offensive type character. also, armored samus fares much better in 4p free for alls, while ZSS seems to be more fit for 1v1.

well Nintendo says that Sora is the last DLC character, but they say just that though, perhaps some Skin Dlc?

Exactly. I discovered this after long enough and racked up loads of ledge roll up smash kills, even on a few shorties.
