These are all really great tips! One of my issues as a Samus player is that I feel like I fish for too many grabs in neutral which often gets me punished. But I do excel in movement and try to mix up landings and such. I always look forward to improve so this will help out. Thank you!
Was looking all over to find out how to cancel charge shot without shielding until I found your video. "Lightly press" Turned the X face button into shield and it feels really good! Thank you!
I've learned a lot of neutral tricks from melee and Brawl Samus players and it's really cool how a lot of set ups carry over into this game, jab into pivot grab is my favorite. I wish grapple into wall tech was in ultimate like melee Samus can do a lot of fun tricks with that one.
Thanks for the video man this is very informative I've been playing this game since almost release and I just now decide to expand my skillet this is a great blueprint on how to improve
Picked up Samus three weeks ago and have fallen madly in love. I forget which video made me subscribe to this channel but I’m glad that I found it and that THIS video popped up on my phone! Still don’t know a lot of the fundamentals... hadn’t played since Melee and am putting pieces together by Googling terms I’ve heard referenced. Playing a janky JoyCon setup with jumps on L, I’ve gotten really good at charging with Y and cancelling before shield with X or a jump and B-reversing same but the concepts of wave-bouncing/landing are pretty daunting. Anywho, enjoyed this a lot! I’m pretty new to Discord-is the one you referenced scrub-friendly?
@@Imora It depends on a persons playstyle. Samus is actually very good at pressure. You don't HAVE to play the style of spamming missles and always charging your shot.
Picked up ultimate a couple months ago and have been learning Samus, this all pretty much checks out with my experience. I actually started playing without missiles/blaster with Dark Samus online so I can get better at using Samus' normals. Also, can you link your server?
Completely depends on how much time you wanna put in. I main Samus and ylink so it’s doable but they use similar tech (wavebounce specials, zair, similar ledgetrapping concepts, etc) and even then it’s a lot of work to be “good” (consistent top 8 at 30+ people tournaments is my cutoff for “good”) with more than one character with tons of character-specific tech. Like you’ll improve slower but in the long run the mechanical skill cap on smash ultimate isnt absurdly high so if you work hard with both characters you’ll wind up with an advantage against most players. But it would be once you’ve played hundreds of hours, so it depends on how long term you’re thinking.
I’ve been a Samus main since Melee and you put me in my place in a couple of these. Very good video. 10/10 will use movement better.
4:51 yo Samus's sense of rythm is dope

Same. I started slowing down on grabs and instead filled that time with charging a shot, or moving to a better position.
I've been playing Samus since N64, your videos have helped me come to a new level 🤘 cheers
N64 Samus is underrated

Graham B I think you should upgrade to a better controller like a pro controller or game cube because the joycons are not great for long term smash.
MR. KARATE you’re not wrong lol
Hes just too campy for my taste... dont really like her at all..
