Just taking Sisqui to game 5 is impressive enough even without the rest of the run imo. Samus is probably top 3 worst Incin matchups, so taking the best specialist of the character to game 5 is phenomenal

Dark Samus is the final boss in Metroid Prime 2. Incineroar can be in Kukui's team at the end of Pokémon Sun and Moon. So we can surely say this is, indeed, a Battle of Bosses.

I've always felt that if Revenge was supposed to help Incin fight Zoners, getting more than one stacked should boost his speed for a while until he uses it.

Also skyjay is a player that fully exploits the strengths of his char, and uses them to play around his weaknesses, but that doesn't mean they don't exist and that they aren't crippling . In the two games that skyjay wins he plays aggressive to scare away sisqui into the corner, and then take his stock in ledgetrap where incin speed doesn't matter as much. But has soon has sisqui stops being afraid of incins attacks and realizes that he can just stay away to punish them its over, cause incin is just too slow. Special kudos 17:01

This also shows why it's important to be able to kill samus at unexpected times. (Unexpected to the samus because it interrupts our flow) Samus normally doesn't care when she gets hit which is why the samus keeps mindlessly throwing out charge shots and missiles. We are just trying to put on a consistent pressure to mix you up then kill you. When it's working out for us we are throwing out options until we are right. We don't care when you hit us when we live to late percentages and you have no late percentage kill set ups on us. This incineroar communicated that they can end our stocks. And that's why it was ao close

This incineroar was really good at countering samuses rock paper scissors. I couldn't help but think of incineroar as an inverted samus with his gameplan. Unfortunately his counter is the thing that glues the gameplan together. So long as the samus stops being too samusy and waits then incineroar gameplan will just fall apart I feel. The samus needs to keep in mind when they like to use it and how long they are willing to wait after getting punished for it. Which is hard under the pressure of the match. But the incineroar is totally reliant on the samus to be predictable. I don't think incineroar can close this gap with their command grab
Exactly everything that Incineroar does is linear and easily telegraphed after 5 games. No movement options or special tech to take advantage of. Skyjay is a really good player but Incineroar lacks that competitive edge

I like Skyjay. He's super aggressive but he's mindful at the same time. He adapts well and makes it work. I think he will be a bit upset though with that last performance. It was good but he missed a few things and never quite got in his groove.
It's so infuriating watching Skyjay get hit by the same neutral getup -> up B over and over and over, literally like 5+ times every single match c'mon man
Last stock game 4 at 14:36 in the video Skyjay missed a double jump for a kill confirm holy shit. He got the tech read with his Dair but he didn't go high enough to land on the platform or get the meteor hitbox. If he got the double jump in, that confirms into dtilt and then usmash or just usmash for a kill I am pretty sure.
So many good things to say here. Sisqui is an absolute monster. These are 2 of my favorite players here. He most certainly earned it. Incinaroar is high tier and no one can convince me other wise. Yes Skyjay is an absolutely amazing player! He doesn’t just carry the character though. He displays all that Incin is capable of. Absolutely mad how well he played. Congrats to both.
Fr tho. It's becuz Samus' game plan is so fucking good that you can apply it for almost any game and situation and it just works if you know how and when to mix it up.
@@Yishi_m that's usually how you can tell if a character is good or not. If your character can play their own way then that's a good thing, but you play a character that forces you to play the way your opponent wants you to play that's obviously not a good thing.

Also, sky kept trying to contend with samus upb and lost 90% of the time. He should've just been a little more patient and punished after. Other than that solid play. And even though I hate spacies and camps like samus just as much. I gotta give this guy props. Played super smart, all projectiles were well placed, and he had good mix ups. Really good set.

It was obvious Skyjay wanted to Side B during that final moment, and Sisqui knew that and was able to counter it.
it wasn't about who won or who lost. That was one of the most beautiful/hype battles I've ever seen.
